I've never actually patronized this business and now I surely never will, as my only encounter with them was one of their drivers being very aggressive on Route 35 in Hazlet. He used his horn aggressively while I was stopped at a well known heavy merge, and then intentionally came dangerously close to the left side of my vehicle while overtaking me thereafter. Wouldn't let someone with anger issues like that get anywhere near my home.

I was given an appointment window between 12pm-1pm, I scheduled other appointments later in the day to meet with the technician.
John showed up at 4:25pm and I was not at home, he was very late.
He spoke to my wife, he walked around the yard. She said he looked like he didn't want to be there.
I messaged him and asked if he could wait for a bit I'll be home soon.
He was still on the property when I messaged, he ignored my messaged and only until he left then he messaged back.
He rudely said he was denied access to the basement, he never asked to see the basement. He said he was driving when he got the message, he lied about this.
All I asked was for a professional from PAYLESS PLUMBING to come one time and give an estimate.
John is not a professional, he's rude, he was late. He didn't call or messaged that he would be late.
He called me at 6:25pm to argue with me instead.
IF ANYONE NEEDS PROFESSIONALS THEY SHOULD CALL
GOLD MEDAL SERVICES. They're professional and always on time.

We made an appointment with them to install an oven because they were a Home Depot recommended vendor. They said they would be here between11 and 3. We waited the 4 hours and they never showed up and never called.

I understand that this particular trade is in high demand right now, but there is no excuse for going through the trouble of showing up and having a good meeting and providing a good quote, and then after reasonably agreeing to reschedule a late afternoon appointment when the day went long, not showing up for the first appointment of the day on the rescheduled day, nor calling, nor responding to voicemails. Etc.

I honestly have no idea WTF is going on. I was excited to have a water backup system put in to avoid having my sump pump back up again after the recent Nor' easter damaged my basement, and I'm going on weeks now with nothing to show for it and having to start from scratch.

Stay away.

I would not recommend this plumber for a Lowe's warranty. They had me pay up front and bill Lowe's myself. I ended up losing money because Lowe's only pays a flat rate and they overcharged.

Not recommended. A cheat!
It is the first time i used Payless Plumbing. It was sub-contracted by Lowes to install a new dishwasher. The plumber came this morning, removed the old dishwasher and then explained that he needs to install a power outlet GFI and a water valve to complete the installation. These will cost an additional $350! But i have the option to refuse and look for someone else that would do it for less. He will just leave the new dishwasher in the middle of the kitchen and leave. This is not an option, it is blackmail! It is cheating to charge $198+tax for a power outlet GFI and $135+ tax for a water valve! He was there already for the installation job. It took him an extra 10 mins for each! I am very disappointed. Not sure if he did the job correctly - i will know that after i use the new dishwasher. But i would not recommend this plumber!

This was the first time I used Payless and had been looking reliable for a good plumber ever since my own retired.

I needed a new toilet and I needed a new kitchen faucet and Bathroom faucet.

They came in to evaluate the work and to estimate the cost and because of my special order toilet, the work was completed two weeks later.

All I can say was that on both visits and the install date, the experience was a genuine pleasure in every possible way.
