I was satisfied with the work performed but overwhelmed by the cost.
I'm afraid I don""t understand their charging per job without detailing the
material costs and no hourly rate. I'll go elsewhere if I have a future
problem. BB
I must say first that the guys were courteous and their installation was very much to my satisfaction but the complaints I have are the price they charged us was Astronomical. We had called them to come and fix a shower handle and discovered the water tank was leaking. Thank god that it was discovered in time but they quoted me 3700.00 to replace it. Of course this was sort of an emergency since the tank was leaking and new to the area that it was imperative to get it fixed since the holidays were coming and we had guest arriving the same day. We did not receive an itemized bill which we requested and then they said that they would not charge us for the part for the shower handle which they said was 200.00!! I checked out Home Depot prices on the exact same water tank and it was 1800.00 and my brother in law who lives in another state that worked for a plumber said that the water tank should of run around 1700 and then labor which should be around 3 hours. He said we got ripped off. Now the next complaint which can't be proved was that my purse was in my downstairs office area which the plumbers had to walk thru to get to the water tank. I had 200.00 cash taken out of my purse. I noticed it was gone that evening after they left. We called the office and told them about the missing money and also discussed the outrageous price they charged. To this day nothing has been done.
MRS. S.Staff was courteous and friendly, but quotes to fix issues were astronomical. I wouldn't mind doing business with them, but could never afford to.
When my wife called the company to request a visit, (after seeing the 'free estimate' coupon/mailer) there was no mention of any charge; -then, or when the gentleman arrived and eventually wrote up our estimate. It was only then that we were told about the $59.00 'dispatch fee' which was ridiculous. When my wife contacted the company, there was no offer to provide a refund or change this misleading advertising practice. In addition... the quote for the installation of an ice-maker water line for over $400 was ridiculous! I installed it myself in 30 minutes after picking up the parts at the local Home Depot (parts about $35.00) I have no plans to ever call this company again.
Do NOT call Paul the Plumber under any circumstances. Showed up, looked at the job, I already had all the parts he needed, (brand new American Standard toilet). All he had to do was drop it in,secure it, hook up the feed and call it a day. Instead, went to his truck to write up an estimate. He came back 5 mins. later with a $400.00 estimate!!!!!!!!!!! See ya later. He knew from the git go there was no money to be made so he decided a $59.00 service charge was the best shakedown he was going to get. But guess what, we had a $30.00 coupon so (ha ha) have a nice day. And now it is my pleasure to share this experience on social media
Couple guys came over to hook up a water softener with filter. They looked around for a minute and gave me a quote of $1,400; I told them that was way off. That ridiculous quote or ""service call"" cost me $59.
Earlier today I went to Home Depot, bought $99 worth of supplies and installed it myself in less than an hour. It was also my first time doing any plumbing.
So, if any of you need a water softener installed give me a call and I'll do it for $140, not $1,400.
I called for a leaky fawcett and said they couldn't fix it without breaking it. They still wanted the $60.00 service call fee so I had them look at my outdoor fawcett that connects to my sprinkler system that was leaking.
He gave me an estimate of $472.00 !!! I asked him why sooo much?
He replied that it's going to take 2 hours. I gave him the ok to fix it.
After coming back with the part, he installed it as I was planting flowers. He finished the job before I finished the planter that I was working on !!!! (within 10 min.)
He approched me and said he was done, I said why was it so much money if it only took you ten min. to fix. His reply was the fixture is made of all brass?!!
My mistake I signed for this and believed what he told me.
The following day my landscaper came over and I showed him what Paul the Plumber replaced and how much they charged me. He told me that the part they replaced cost $75.00 and that they took full advantage of me. Who makes $400.00 in labor in 10 min!!!!!
I guess Paul the Plumber does.
I called to complain and they wouldn't adjust the amount only offered to give me a credit on the service call !!!
I would never use this plumbing company again!!!!!!!
Mike D.These guys are not the cheapest and I feel the need to say that in this review. I have dealt with them on a few projects and repairs over the years. What I am most satisfied with is their reliability and level of professionalism and quality of work. Bob is always friendly. The office staff has their shit together. I place value on these elements. And, really their prices are not that much higher than the guy who never shows up anyway! Recommended!
During the early morning hours of December 28th, our water tank exploded. Water from the pump splashed on the floor and started to flood our basement. After turning off the pump, we started calling various plumbers with 24 hour service. We called 8 businesses, but only Paul the Plumber called us back. After a discussion, we agreed upon an 8:00 AM arrival time. Mike was incredibly prompt, diagnosed the problem quickly, replaced the tank, fixed the damaged pipes and even replaced screens in my faucets. He had us up and running before Noon and made what could have been a horrible experience into a minor inconvenience. It is always refreshing to work with a business that treats you as a valued customer and not as an annoyance. I will be sending additional plumbing work their way in the next couple of months.
After hours call for a bathroom leak, told me sink was the problem, it was the hot water intake. Tried to sell me a 400$ fixture that was not this problem. Told me the leak had stopped, no it had not. I fixed it the next day. When I called back , the office told me I was wrong. NEVER AGAIN!
