Niall and Brandon called ahead to confirm arrival time, showed up promptly at that time and they were both professional and courteous. Both guys are younger than any previous plumbers we have had at the house to do work, so I was a little skeptical about their skill set. That concern was quickly dispelled. Niall took the lead and they quickly got to work clearing our clogged vent stack. I like to learn about home repairs and tagged right along with them asking questions about the job. They were both so friendly and if me tagging along with them bothered them they never let on.
The job was done quickly and I didn't have to miss hardly anytime away from my job! Although I would recommend the company (I felt the charges were higher than what I have paid an independent contractor) the guys more than made up for that putting my mind at ease the problem could be easily resolved. Niall made a suggestion or two about future work we could have done after I asked for any recommendations on what they assessed without coming on strong or pushy or sales-like. Paul Scott company is fortunate to have these two awesome employees!!!
.I won't even give this so called company one star! They charged us $2,500.00 to replace a small piece of sewer pipe and install a clean out and snaked. One month later it backed up and they came to unclog it again telling me we would be charged the next time it happens.although they did inform us that we still had some issues we had NO idea the extent until I called trench less plumbing company who showed us the video inspection ourselves. Long story short,DO NOT USE THIS PLACE BY NO MEANS!!! They are a complete rip off. I never write reveiws but I feel obligated to warn others. They dug up our yard and left it a mess plus they were in the wrong spot and only four feet away from the real issue .they obviously just wanted to be called back again to charge us more money!
Amy C.I hired this company to come out to fix a broken wash unit that had caused a leak that ruins my wood floor. The plumber that came was very nice and told me I needed to order replacement parts for the unit that they didn't have because ""that was the source of my leak"". They then charged me $150 for the ""diagnosis"" and said to call when the parts came in and the floor was repaired. I spent $2000 to repair the floor, the parts came in and said plumber came back.
He was very nice, but after he left I noticed the sinks were still leaking all over the floor and the water pressure in both was totally screwy. I called to have him come back, they sent another person instead. He came back, said it wasn't leaking but fixed the water pressure... and hour later I called again because hey.. Im not dumb.. I know what water looks like.. and it was still leaking. Guy came back again.. said oh yeah.. other guy forgot to replace wax seal and THATS you problem..ok.
He leaves, two hours later the water pressure is all wonky again.. I call the shop to speak to the manager and she sends him back. Thats 4 visits in one day if you are keeping track.. I mention when he gets there ""I feel like it is still leaking"" and he says nope.. just overspray... and proceeds to tell me that the brand new parts I purchased have ""all this unnecessary stuff that causes the water pressure to be weird"" and proceeds to rip the guts out of the two that were just repaired ( funny.. since the same parts by the same company worked fine with the water pressure for two years.. ).
After this, I'm done...it's the week before Thanksgiving and I notice after a day or two that the floor is indeed warping again ( the new one, I paid 2K for ) and call the manager agin to get someone out to solve my problem. Guy shows up and tells me that its a totally different problem of my sinks backing up under the chair ( even though that allegedly wasn't a problem the first time just days before?) and that it will be another $200 dollars to snake them.
Total Breakdown in service, crisis management and due diligence. I suggest not only that no one use this business, but that the owners should seriously reconsider their chosen profession, as there doesn't not seem to be one single competent arm of your business.
Do not use this company, here is why:
Hired them to install a kitchen sink and to make sure everything is working, we redid our kitchen, guy installs sink, says he runs the water and it drains properly and leaves (I am not home at the time). I come home to test the sink and the second I run the water it starts backing up (nice lie). Had to have them come back out a different day and they still charge full price.
My drains in the basement are backing up so I call them again in desperation. I am not home but I leave a list of drains to snake and the plumber forgets to drain one place that I had written down specifically. I notice this when I get home. They also leave my shower nobs leaking which was not like this before they came because I don't use this specific shower. I notice it when I get home because there was a loud dripping noise in the tub. You would think whatever they were doing they would stop to fix this since they were helping to clear the sewer back up from this shower drain but they didn't, I had to fix it. If I hadn't noticed this, because it's in a part of my house I don't use all the time, I would have been paying for water I wasn't using. Thanks a lot! I call back right away and the receptionist says they can come back out but at the after hours price. What?! You mean to say your guy left something that wasn't finished (leaking) and you want to double charge to come back out?! Like I said he also forgets to clear another drain that was still backing up when I tested it after. He said everything was ""fine"" to my family member that was home at the time. Wrong sir. One area was fine but not the other area.
It seems like whenever I called them they would do a half-ass job then leave.
The business overcharges for their services as well, found places that are much cheaper and do better work! Plus they do not charge after hours prices after 5 and on the weekends.
When you google search this company I have seen it come up saying they are open until 5:30 but it is really 5. Well fix this cause it's confusing!
The business owners are crooks in my opinion too and the people that work the phones at the office are very very rude and do not return calls promptly or at all sometimes. They never believe you either when you call and say the plumber forgot something or messed something up and they treat you like an idiot but still want to help you out but for a price.
Bottom line do not use them. Go with a company that actually does the job, is cheaper and has a much nicer staff.
Kristie T.I would like to notify that this business's service is not of good quality. Dennis was extremely rude. He was requested by our condo association to do a job and he did a partial job and told us we would be without water another day. He seemed to be lazy and as if he hated his job. Not happy about this experience and I will be spreading the word. Matter fact, call Gemini Plumbing. They are Awesome!
Don J.I had an awful experience with this company. Here's the story:
I hired Paul C. Scott Plumbing to fix a leaking outdoor hose bib at my home in Berkley. One of their plumbers came to my house on to observe the issue, provide an estimate for the work, and fix the problem. The plumber rightly observed that the leak actually came from a faulty gate valve in the home. He recommended that we place the gate valve with a ball valve and also install a new winter-ready hose bib so that the water would not have to continually be turned on and off from inside the house each winter.I agreed to the work and the cost and the plumber completed the job. During the work, the plumber removed a panel in my basement wall so that he could shut off the main water supply to the house and complete the valve changes.
Three days later, I went into my basement and noticed that roughly one-quarter of the carpeting in the finished portion of the basement, as well as the wood paneling surrounding it, was soaked through with water. I removed the same panel in my basement wall and saw that the main water supply valve that the plumber had accessed was consistently dripping. Using a wrench, I tightened the nut on the valve with about a quarter turn and the dripping stopped. I noticed that the water had left a brown stain around the perimeter of the soaked area. I contacted Paul C. Scott Plumbing to make them aware of the issue and a manager told me she would have a plumber return on the next day to assess the issue.
When that second plumber arrived, he told me that he was not completely aware of the issue, but asked me to show him the problem area. He said that the brown stain was likely the result of carpeting glue which was filtering through the carpet due to the water. He observed the valve and noted that sometimes valves that are leaky need to be replaced. I informed him that Ive opened and closed this valve on multiple occasions for home repair purposes and never had any problems. I was also able to stop the leak with a simple wrench turn, and expressed my confusion as to why the initial plumber wouldnt have done the same thing. I explained that clearly the valve was in fine working order and the initial plumber made no mention of the water main valve being faulty. This plumber only reiterated that sometimes old valves are leaky.
He wrote up a report that I didn't see and said he would pass it along to the owners.I did not hear back from the company that day, and reached out to them again early the next week, speaking once again to the same manager. After a brief conversation in which she reiterated the recommendation to replace the water main valve (which was working properly), she agreed to pay for my carpet to be cleaned by someone who she promised would do a good job. She gave me his contact information and told me that the charges would be sent to Paul Scott Plumbing.
My first attempt to have the carpet clean resulted in the cleaner canceling the appointment three hours before the scheduled cleaning. Later that day, I contacted the cleaner to reschedule for the following Saturday. When I spoke with the manager, I was under the impression that the person they were sending over was a representative from a reputable carpet cleaning service. Instead, the cleaner arrived with a carpet cleaner in the back of an unmarked minivan. The cleaner did not remove the stains in the carpet from the water damage (in fact, they seem more pronounced after the cleaning), and he left areas of the carpet with a hard, crusty film where I imagine he failed to properly suck up the cleaner. Additionally, the cleaner hooked his machine up to our sink and left a wet mess in our laundry room. When I attempted to mop up this mess in the laundry room, I noticed that the cleaner had used our mop without asking us in an attempt to clean up the mess. He left that mop soaked and dripping next to our dryer. This is not what I would expect from a professional and someone this company would send as a representative.
I have since attempted to contact the manager by phone and email, but she has not returned my messages. I realize that the initial problem was a mistake and mistakes do happen, but this company must correct its mistake. This is not how a company should treat its customers!
We had a problem in our master bath because it was leaking. When I made the appointment I said I think it's the shower and I'm wondering if you guys can fix it? So we set up the appointment and they came out a couple days later. Based on the website, I thought they could fix it. Turns out they don't do that work. They told us, yeah, it's the shower. Then charged us $140 just for coming out. I called the company and spoke to the manager Brian and expressed my concern that I was being charged to tell me what we already knew. All we wanted to know was if they could fix it. He responded with of course we charge for our time and no we don't do that work. I simply said it would have been helpful to know that there is a $140 charge when we made the appointment. He said well then you shouldn't have called us if we don't do that work anyway, we can't help you. I said I stated what the concern was on the call and there was no reason to suspect they couldn't do the work. The whole experience is really upsetting and could have been avoided. Don't rip people off!
Avoid this company unless you prefer to pay for no work to be completed. I called, explained the need for a simple drain snake to fix a partial clog and scheduled an appointment for when I was at work......MISTAKE!
The technician came, walked around the house (both inside and out) and told my wife (who was trying to watch our two kids) he would have to come back *with a camera* and possibly need to work for 5 hours on the clog. The kicker of this was he charged us $140 ($45 to show up and $95 for an hour of walking around my house) and would not leave until he was paid.
When I got home my wife told me what happened and I promptly called their office and cancelled his return appointment with explanation. The customer service manager told me she would look into why he needed to come back and hs never called back...AVOID THIS COMPANY.
FYI - Called another local (honest) plumber who came over and snaked the two cleanouts and the problem was solved within hours...
ONCE AGAIN AVOID THIS COMPANY.
Renaldo H.Outstanding, fast and price was right. I had a clogged drain in the kitchen. First company I tried couldn't fix it, just made it worse. Paul Scot plumbing sent a man out, found the problem, explained and fixed it. Pleasant, fast and price was fair. Highly recommend
I have used them in the past when Paul was running the company now that the son Brian is running it sucks!!!!!!!!!!! The technician couldn't even repair a stopper on the toilet correctly and he also broke a shut off value ( that was only a few years old ) and blamed me and charged me for it. Don't USE THEM
