I have used Paul Oswald for over 20 years in two different homes - most recently for a large renovation. New heating ducts, plumbing and a propane fireplace.
He comes when he says he will and gets the job done. He replaced a furnace for me which was expensive - but I had a stack of repair bills from another plumber (until I found Mr. Oswald) that added up to a lot-- like a cash cow for the former plumber.
I had an exhaust for my pool furnace which was not functioning - two other plumbers could not fix the problem (before Mr. Oswald was recommended to me) Mr. Oswald found a solution for the exhaust.
Everyone I have recommended him to is very pleased.

My husband and I had a leak in our first floor bathroom waste pipe. As is our way we requested (3) Vendors to come in and give us a proposal on fixing this leak. This Plumber has to be one of the least honest vendors we have ever met. The first two Plumbers came in and explained to us what needed to be done plus the cost. This guy comes in and wants to replace all the pipes in both bathrooms in our home. He then proceeded to tell us that other pipes in our home had to be replaced. We listened politely and told him we would get back to him. According to the other Plumbers we interviewed this was a job that requires only the waste pipes to be replaced. We felt that this company was trying to take advantage of us. We hired one of the other two Plumbers who did a fabulous job. We had no intention of hiring this company but wanted to warn other homeowners.

My advice to everyone is, always get 3-4 proposals/estimate on anything that requires a skilled person like a plumber, electrician etc..

You will find that out of the group that at least one will try and over charge you. I also advise that you educate yourself regarding the repair and ask them plenty of questions. This way you can choose the best vendor for the job.
