Fixed issue, but left a huge mess. Also, the actual charge was about $500 more than what was quoted. I know they are a pretty new company, but they won't grow if they keep up these bad practices.

Called Patriot May 2022 to address a leak in our a/c system. We knew where the leak was (had 2 other companies use their diagnostic equipment who said it was in the wall, but neither were able to schedule us in to repair). We showed Patriot the wall, etc., and they spent some time looking things over. At first, they agreed that it was a leak, told us they would send a quote, but then decided it was the TXV Valve (covered under warranty). They replaced the valve, added refrigerant and charged us $1,066. This lasted a few more weeks and then problem was back (slow leak). We called them back and they gave us 4 options, cost ranging from over $2,000 to almost $10,000. They wanted us to replace the entire system - which was only just over a year old. At this point, I knew we needed to get someone else out and we did. They removed some sheetrock, found the leak (it was hissing) and we were up and running for $500. Patriot should have fixed this when we called them in May 2022. Instead, we paid $1,066, higher cooling bills all summer. I tried to come to a resolution with them, but they refused to take any responsibility. Expensive lesson learned, but at least we didn't agree to let them do the unnecessary work they wanted to do the 2nd time. EDITED TO COMMENT ON RESPONSE FROM PATRIOT: The reason I waited (and it was not 5 months) was that you recharged w/refrigerant and it took awhile for that to deplete. As far as """"two separate issues,"""" we called you about the leak and showed you the wall where the leak was diagnosed. Your serviceman decided that the TXV Valve was blocked & that was our problem - not a leak. So, the """"leak"""" was not another issue, it was the one we called to fix in the first place. And, NO, I did not request a quote for a new unit. Why would I want that when our unit was practically new? Tyler said that the warranty company would not pay for you all to fix the leak because you weren't the original installer. He suggested a new unit (which was strange, since our unit was barely a year old). I called the warranty company and they said that was not true, it was a manufacturer's warranty. """"Workmanship"""" was not the issue anyway...it was the leak that you were told about in May 2022. In summary, everyone at Patriot was polite, courteous and response time was very quick. But, the service was unsatisfactory.
