The technicians that werre sent out were friendly enough. They were sent out and recommended to us by out home warranty company Cinch. We had a backed up sink garbage disposal and they rodded it but were unable to fix the problem. They suggested we needed to have someone come out and use a jet stream to fix the clog however it was not covered by the warranty company so we had to hire a 2nd plumber on our own who came in and did the exact same service as this company but took a little longer and went through a couple different pipes but was able to fix the problem without needing a jet stream which makes me believe had they taken a little more time and effort and checked the other pipe lines could have also fixed the problem for us. A little disappointed in both this company and the Cinch. Taking cheap cuts never resolves anything.
Like others.... AHS sent them out to my home for my water heater. They lit the pilot and said if it goes out again to call him. Well we explained that we have been relighting the pilot all week and there was another problem with it. Between them and AHS ... this has been a terrible experience. It's currently been 1 week and I still have no hot water. They haven't been back out to resolve the issue and the fact that AHS is still using them as a vendor makes me question them as well. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE... does not deserve 1star.
So I as well am using American home shield. Upon calling Patel's plumbing, they were very responsive. The call went out for hydrojetting. They did not have the proper equipment and let me know upfront. As well made the call back to the warranty company to help them get the proper company for my job. No time was wasted and they were very prompt and curtious. I think the majority of these reviews are the lack of communication on the warranty company and not on them. Always a good idea to talk the issue thru with the assigned companies prior to setting a service time. This company in no way wasted my time and was very helpful. Thank you for being so thoughtful on my horrible situation.
Marla M.I too tried to give them 0 stars! My Home Warranty provided dispatached this horrible service person to our home to repair a leaky faucet. When he arrived to our home, the firtst thing he stated was I need to collect $85.00! No hello how are you, my name is.....he had no tool box, only a screw driver and wrench in his hand no obvious identification on his vehicle or person. He never even inquired about where the leaky faucet was, only that he needed to collect the service fee first. He was very rude and irritated I guess because my husband inquired about him having face and shoe coverings. I immediately call my home warranty provider to file a complaint. Please stay away from this one.
Kim M.I tried to give them 0 stars. DO NOT USE THEM if you want the job done, good customer service, or a response. They didn't fix anything, didn't call back, didn't respond to the warranty company.....just a horrible company. So one thing needed to be fixed. I called another plumber and they said that wasn't the issue at all. They ate liars and have no integrity. WARNING! DONT CALL!
The worst! Even 1 star is too much for them! They were assigned to me by American Home Shield. They choose to pick up a call or not, and do not have the basic business courtesy to call back when you leave voice messages.
If you use them, be prepared for someone to saunter in with no tools, eyeball the plumbing issue and then only lie to you forever that ""the part is on its way"", makes an appointment but never shows up and then when you call, won't pick up the phone! Do yourself a favor and look for any other plumbing companies. Anyone has to better than them, unless you want the stress and aggravation! This is from my horrible experience which has been continuing for the last two months! Nothing is fixed yet!
This company was issued by home warranty. No accessment was done. The service person walked out less than 5 minutes. Very rude! Reported to BBB and local news. This must stop! I cannot believe home warranty refer subpar company to do nothing. Really negative-- 10 stars
Patel's Plumbing is probably the most incompetent plumbing service in the Chicagoland area. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT HIRE PATEL'S. Like others, America Home Shield (AHS) assigned Patel's to a service request I made related to a sewer gas smell in a half bath. Patel's arrived to my house almost two hours after the scheduled appointment window; an appointment window expanding across several hours. Patel's made absolutely no effort to locate the odor causing leak and instead blamed the odor on a drain pipe in an entirely different location where no odor was present. Patel's indicated that they needed to open the walls to locate the leak and it required AHS's authorization to do so. Patel's further indicated that he would seek such authorization from AHS and call me back. Patel's then proceeded to close my service request. A few days after, I called AHS to gain authorization myself. Because Patel's improperly closed my service request, AHS initially wanted to charge another $100 to open a new request; this cost me over an hour of time on the phone with AHS. After three calls to AHS, they requested Patel's come back out, open the walls, locate the leak, and correct the problem. Patel's came out for a second time and made a few small holes in my walls and again made no real effort to locate the leak. They simply shined a light from a phone into the small holes and said they could not find a leak. Clearly more needed to be done to fine a leak in a pipe. AHS has now assigned another plumber to this request after over a month since this request has been opened with no resolve. Patel's completely wasted my time and clearly had no intention of correcting the issue. This particular plumper is lazy and it is apparent based on the comments of others that this company is scamming AHS and their customers into pay for home visit that do not result in any real resolution. I'm currently working to get AHS to not refer them any additional business based on my experience.
This is singularly the worst contractor I've ever dealt with. They were sent by my home warranty company and they were supposed to be at my place between 12- 4pm also they were to call me 30 minutes prior to arrival. They arrived about 30 minutes late , never called ahead of time and showed up with no tools or equipment . They were called to replace a garbage disposal. They guy looked under the sink and said that the disposal he brought was too big . why did he bring the wrong disposal? He called me the morning of the service appt and asked me for the model # of the existing disposal, I gave it to him and I was told that he had the exact same part . But again, when he showed up with no disposal in his hand , he said he had a larger disposal. I asked him why he would come to my place with the wrong part and his response was "" no, I have the correct part , it's just larger that the one currently installed"". Hilarious.
I've since reached out to the home warranty company and can't get a different plumber assigned to do the job without paying another service fee. Why would I pay a second fee if the job was never done ?
needless to say I won't be renewing with this home warranty company .
I was assigned this company through my home warranty carrier. I spoke with their office on a Tuesday about a main line sewer clog that was preventing my household from using our plumbing. Their first opening wasn't until Friday 12-4om. The tech came around 12:30 (which was great) but he came in an unmarked minivan, told me they didn't have the equipment to do a crawl space clean-out, then left. I waited 3 days for that appt and it could have been avoided if their office had just informed me of that right away.
