I hired them to repair a leaky water line. They patched a leak for $2200. Two months later it was leaking again. I called them and they informed me that they would fix it if I spent $400 to find the leak. I hired amother plumbing company to replace the line. They dug the old line up, found the leak at the same spot, told me the repair was crap and told me they would have fixed it right for $600
Asked for an itemized bill and just received a bill with a total on there. So pretty much anything can be put down on it. Nothing was broken down so you don't really know what you're paying for. If you're looking to get a capacitor replaced you might as well do it yourself and save yourself hundreds for 20 min of work. Tech was great it's just pricing is ridiculous.
Josh H.Although Paschal seems to have a great reputation, they're no different than many other HVAC repair companies. Their technicians are willing to scam you out of money and I have video evidence, including the original quote. Please, take time to read this before doing business with them and always do your due diligence.
My blower motor went out last week and I didn't have time to fix it myself. We have Airbnb guests, so the AC is a priority. The tech came out and examined the unit (after walking throughout the entire house with dirty boots on). That's fine, I can clean that before the guests arrive.
However, the issue comes down to the repair itself. I told the tech that the capacitor on the blower motor may have gone out and gave him other diagnostics. He called after looking at the unit and stated the capacitor was out, but also that the whole unit was rusted, the blower was blowing air very slowly, and the motor is a ""welded on type"". Thus, I was quote over $800 for the motor alone. If in fact the motor was welded onto the housing, I would also need to purchase the fan housing, blower fan, etc. All-in-all, this would have been a $1,300+ job with labor...for a fan motor. Often times, HVAC companies quote a very high price to incentivize you to replace the entire unit, this is a prime example of that.
The tech was unaware that I've been in the air handler before to clean the drip pan (no rust on pan/inside air handler). They were also unaware that I pulled the blower assembly out when I first moved in 3 years ago to replace a frayed wire and last winter to install a new capacitor. They were unaware that I already know the assembly/motor isn't ""welded in"" and doesn't require a magical $800 motor (for reference, blower/fan motors run anywhere from $80-160 max for these units), yet I was still blatantly lied to about it. I have video evidence of the entire assembly removed from the handler, including the original quote from the tech.
This is absolute fraud and I can't imagine the number of unknowing individuals who have been duped by these people. Shameful.
EDIT FOR BUSINESS OWNER, INCLUDING PHOTOS.
I appreciate you addressing the issue and trying to be as upfront as possible. I didn't feel pressured at all, I just discovered a clear massive over-charge. However, it should be noted that all direct replacement motors come with motor mounts affixed, including the OEM units. Per Goodman, the direct replacement Goodman-Amana SKU 0131M00849SP is readily available, ranging from $80 - $165 with mounts attached (I personally spoke with Goodman and purchased the required items from SupplyHouse). How can you justify a $801.90 flat rate price, knowing full well there isn't a residential blower motor that costs anywhere near that number? And to think, that's without labor (Less than 1 hr labor required for such a simple task). Even if you included labor, that would be upwards of $500+/hr labor rate.
As far as the ""rust"" note; it was stated that the old motor and components inside the air handler were very rusty. The coils outside were not addressed, solely the air handler that houses the blower located under the home. I don't blame the tech for anything other than tracking through the house; I blame the company's policies are abhorrent pricing.
My AC went out at the start of the first heat wave of the summer. I called Paschal and they weren't able to send a tech right away because of the high demand. No other HVAC company was able to send a tech either. I was going out of town so no worries.
When I got back from vacation, the Paschal tech showed up exactly on time. He diagnosed a problem with the blower and he replaced the capacitor in the compressor which was on his last legs. The AC works great now.
I have been waiting for two weeks for my A/C to be fixed. The tech that has come out has been courteous, but the company as a whole has been off-putting and unhelpful. The day after he came out, they were supposed to have ordered a part and been back to fix it within a couple of days. A week later, supposedly, they still had not received the part. 3 days after being told this, they came out with the part, but were missing a crucial part to install that part. They called later, and said they would be overnighting that part. 2 days later, I had to call them to find out they did not get the part overnighted, and would be receiving it tomorrow. I was told I'd be called back for an update, but over 6 hours later, I am now calling them again. The hottest two weeks we've had so far this year, I've been without a working a/c, and dealing with a company that is below standards in customer service. The only two people I've spoken to that showed any sense of urgency in the matter were two very kind women that answered the phone initially and as an answering service.
Scheduled an appointment for my AC and furnace as part of their annual maintenance program. They were not able to give me an expected time of when their technician would be at my home, just a vague ""They will call when they are 30-minutes out.""
Technician called at 7:35 am, while I was in the shower, and left a voice mail and text mail. I returned their called, shortly after, however the technician was already at another job, and would have to call me back to let me know when they would be coming to my home.
I waited until 4:50 PM and no technician or representative from Paschal returned my call. I called main office and spoke with scheduler who basically told me that their technician never notified the office that I returned his called, and they would be unable to get a technician to my home that day. They couldn't even give me a 4-hour window for when the technician could get to my home the following day, as they would ""Have to work me into the schedule.""
The scheduler never apologized for the mistake, just said ""He understood why I was upset."", and they wouldn't give me any credit towards my account, even after speaking with the supervisor.
So you make me waste a day waiting for a technician, want me to waste a second day waiting for a technician to ""work me into the schedule"", never actually say that you were sorry for the mistake, and then not even give a credit to acknowledge that my time is valuable as well.
I called Summit, they were able to give me a 4 hour appointment window for the next day, and gave me a discount on their maintenance program after I told them of my experience with Paschal. Now that is customer service.
Used them in the past. In fact less than 2 weeks ago we had them out to maintenance our heater. Heater went out yesterday, Friday. Called them in the afternoon and they said they would be out on Saturday. Called them Saturday and was assured they would be out today. No one showed. Called and was told it would be Monday. Called them and was told that they would be here within an hour. No one showed up. Called after the hour was up and was told the person that said that was wrong and it would be Monday. Do not use this company!!!! They do not keep their word. Find someone that doesn't
Priced higher than the competition, but arrived promptly, good professional technician, very thorough.
My heater stopped working on a Thursday afternoon. I'm in industrial maintenance technician and work on all kinds of heating systems. So I took a look at it and pretty quickly was able to determine it was the gas safety valve. The problem was I didn't have a valve and wasn't sure that I could obtain one. And on Saturday morning I had a family member coming to visit from out of state. So this needed to be fixed as soon as possible. I was unable to miss work on Friday. So I called Paschal heating and air at 8 AM. They sent out a technician that afternoon. I talk to him on the phone. Told him I believed it was the gas safety valve. It ended up being the gas safety valve. He then informed me that it would be $591 to install a new one and he had one on the truck. Because I was in a desperate situation, I agreed and he installed a new one. Later I looked up the price of the part which can be obtained for anywhere from $30-$70. I would have to say that I do believe this charge was seriously excessive and predatory in nature. I would not recommend Paschal heating and air.
1 year ago we purchased a complete set of air conditioning/heating unit, complete with one year maintenance. They did show up for the maintenance checks, because those were scheduled. However, I have called them twice after hours on two separate occasions. Both times an after hours call center answered. Keep in mind at the time... a one year purchase... why are we having issues anyway? The call center was very cold and very rude. When I told her she was being rude, she told me I was being rude. I have two children and it was miserable in the house. The second time I reached out to them, they said it would be TWO days before they could come check on it. Again.... NEW UNITS! So, I gave up on them and called Kinty Jones, a company I didn't even buy the units from. Kinty answered the phone himself!... the owner! They had someone out before the day was over and repaired it. Also, they found a drain tube IMPROPERLY INSTALLED! Please Pashal Hearing and Air... take a step back and look at what your small home town business has become! THANK YOU KINTY!!!
