BE WARNED!! you will be GROSSLY OVERCHARGED by this company! I needed a washing machine drain snaked they wanted $367 plus tax to do this. I asked them to leave and they replied ""We're going to charge you $209 just for coming out."" Like I might as well just pay them what they want! HOMEOWNERS BEWARE!!
Parthenon was called out to do two separate jobs at my condo I am selling in Nashville. My realtor had recommended them after positive interactions in the past. While the work itself and the technicians were great, I take issue with being charged for two trip fees of $79 each. I can understand being charged if I were having them come out to quote a job then come back a second time to do it but that was not the case. They were called out the first time to replace three valves and that was accomplished in one trip. The second time was to reconfigure under the kitchen sink after a new sink was put in. Again a specific job that was done and handled in one trip. I spoke with someone in accounting who spoke with a manager named Trevor who decided that these two fees would not be waived. I do not understand this as it is necessary to actually come out to the property to perform a service! A trip fee should not be included. Between the two jobs I spent $934, which Includes $158 in trip fees and $450 in labor. I write this review to make others aware to ask questions about what you will be charged before you have them come out. A trip fee is redundant. I am very disappointed. I was overcharged. I have been a homeowner over 30 years and dealt with many plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc. issues. I have never been charged a trip fee that either was waived after having the job performed or it counted towards the actual job being done. Not on top of everything else. Beware and ask questions of how you'll be charged.
Parthenon Plumbing was more interested in selling me a new water heater than providing a repair. I found another company that was able to repair. Unfortunately, Parthenon Plumbing felt that coming to my house for less than 15 minutes (over half that time was trying to sell me a water heater) was worth not only the service call but an hour charge on top of that. I hope this review helps others avoid calling this company.
Kaitlin P.I called Parthenon Plumbing because I had issues with a clogged bathroom sink drain and concerns about a possible toilet leak. I received a phone call and text thirty minutes before the technician arrived. The technician, Felix, arrived right on time, and fixed the clog in my bathroom drain and issue with my toilet within thirty minutes. Felix was very professional and pricing was reasonable. I highly recommend Parthenon Plumbing!
Kristin O.I had a terrible experience with Parthenon last year, which was the result of them misdiagnosing an issue in my HVAC unit. After several service appointments and my AC going out twice in the heat of the summer, they figured out my unit, that Parthenon installed years ago, was missing a piston. It cost me over $1000 in parts, labor, and inflated electric bills and tens of hours of missed work to be at my house while the repairs were going on over a period of about 6 months. On top of all this, the operations manager, Rick, was so cruel and rude to me and my father on the phone when we called. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
When the missing piston was blamed on the manufacturer I asked for Parthenon to reach out to the manufacturer to try to find a way to reimburse me for my trouble and expenses. I was told I had to write a letter to Parthenon to request this. So I did and no one responded for months. I wrote a second letter and received a response that they were working on it and haven't heard from them since the summer. I will be sending my business somewhere else moving forward.
These guys are awesome, they are professional but friendly, knowledgeable and willing to explain the issues in layman's terms.. actually the are the only plumber I use..
Kathy T.Great service! Parthenon got our new HVAC unit installed within 3 days of calling for service! We have used Parthenon for plumbing as well. Will use again.
Daniel D.Awful experience. Technician was not upfront about options, price, and began working without me agreeing to their services. Additionally, they didn't fix the problem and still tried to charge me additional labor costs. Will never use them again.
Karen W.My garbage disposal has always had issues since I bought my house 3 years ago to the point I rarely used it. I had to get a plumber not long after I bought the house to unclog the kitchen drain. It happened again and I tried everything but could not get it unclogged. I finally called Parthenon Plumbing and made an appointment several days out to be sure I wasn't charged for an emergency call. My bathtub has also had issues so I mentioned it too but my main request was to remove the garbage disposal and turn that side of the sink into a regular drain (I compost so I really don't use the disposal much). The plumber arrived on time and I explained the issue to the plumber and he found a blockage under the sink and removed it which took maybe 10-15 min. He talked a lot and gave me some advice on keeping the drains clean and went to the bathroom and noted that the drain in the tub was small, cleaned it a little but essentially said the issue was the drain was so small it was causing the water to back up during a shower and he said he wouldn't charge me for looking at it. We discussed replacing the garbage disposal but he quoted me a price of $395 which I declined. We discussed removing the garbage disposal all together but he said he didn't have the things needed to remove it and replace it with a regular drain which I thought was odd since that was what I asked for when I made the appointment. I had left work and needed to return and in the past when I've needed a plumber they came out, fixed what needed to be fixed and left. When I asked him how much I owed him he seemed to work on figuring the cost for a long time which I thought was odd. Then he told me it was $150 which I thought was a bit steep for a non emergency call to only unclog a drain. He gave me an ipad to sign for the charge (just a big screen with a line to sign, nothing else on the screen) I signed it and left as I had to get back to work though I thought it odd that he didn't give me a receipt or anything that showed what he had done. I was in a hurry and didn't ask, my mistake. When I looked in my email account later that day there was a receipt, $55 for the trip charge and $95 to ""replace the garbage disposal."" Then it dawned on me why he was there so long and why the cost was higher than I thought it should be, he stayed a long time so it would look like he had really changed the garbage disposal and charged me for doing something he didn't do. I thought it was odd that he didn't give me a receipt when I paid him which all other plumbers have done my whole life as I've owned several houses and needed plumbers occasionally. Since I wasn't given a receipt at the time he left I couldn't dispute the charge. If you hire this company, don't do what I did, ask for the receipt BEFORE they leave so you don't get charged for things that they didn't do.
Anna J.I highly recommend this company. We all know plumbing work can get expensive, especially when you really don't know how much work is needed and the time it takes. This company has the best customer service and good HONEST folks. Pricing is on the higher end, but they do such a good job and never wastes your time or overcharges you. I had a terrible experience with another 5-star rated plumbing company (they charged me $250 dollars to put in a bathtub drain!) The work took less than 2 minutes, and I couldn't do it myself because I didn't have the right tools. I hated plumbers from that point forward, but when I needed additional work done at my house, I called Parthenon and had the complete opposite experience. I was told up front on the trip charge and per hour cost. The work is done well and done right.
