Company Overview

For over 57 years, Parkey's has delivered top-notch heating, plumbing, and air conditioning solutions in Colorado Springs, CO. As a premier heating and plumbing service in the Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak area, we are committed to excellence.

Parkey's has provided ""Cadillac"" service to our customers since we opened in 1961. Your trust has allowed us to grow into one of the leading residential heating, air conditioning, and plumbing service providers in Colorado Springs.

In 1955, Roy D. Parkey began his journey in refrigeration but was frustrated by poor customer service and craftsmanship. In Xenia, Ohio, in 1961, Roy started Parkey's from the back of a 1955 Cadillac to meet this need, delivering ""Cadillac"" service. Roy and his spouse, Sarah Ellen ""Judy"" Parkey, were fortunate to have four children: three boys and one girl. Their eldest son was Monty, followed by Tim, Mark, and Robin, all born about two years apart. In the early days, ""Judy,"" Tim's mother, managed the phones while caring for their four children. At just 13, Tim Parkey, the second eldest son, started working weekends and during the summer.

At 15, Tim recognized that this was the direction he wanted for his career. He chose to attend Green vocational school for HVAC in his junior year. He also attended R.S.E.S (Refrigeration Service Engineering School) in the evenings during this period. At GVS, his instructor assigned him to an advanced job placement in the second quarter of eleventh grade as a test, and the outcomes were impressive. Finding meaningful work at such a young age was a significant blessing for him. Tim, being hardworking and mechanically inclined, discovered it was a natural fit. With a passion for helping others, he knew he was in the right place at the right time. Following a back injury, Roy Parkey opted to move to Florida, which enabled Tim to assume ownership of the company at only 18. On February 12, 1973, Tim continued a legacy that has thrived for 37 years.

Bad experience. My furnace issue was a dirty heat sensor. The repair guy took out the sensor, cleaned it with a sponge, and put it back in. Literally took him 2 minutes and they charged me $260. Asked the guy to clean out my furnace since I was billed an hour of labor, when it took him two minutes. He said he would have to charge me another hour. I don't know if all HVAC companies are like this, but i will not go back to these guys.

I had been using Parkey's for decades, but no more. They had always seemed a bit pricier than others, but I thought that reflected quality. Several months ago, I had them come to fix a drip on an outside faucet because ""winter is coming."" Repairman charged over $200 to replaces internals of the faucet. I was relieved that he did not have to replace the entire thing. He checked the pressure on the water heater and said it was way too high and that I needed pressure flow inline at the source and existing one was probably broke. He put one inline, but left the old one in place. Total charge for the day was around $700. We thought the new water pressure seemed low, but we assumed the ""expert"" knew what he was doing and how do you know by touch what the correct pressure should Be? Pipes stated banging at the source occasionally and we wondered if it was our water heater. After a few months of low flow showers, dish washing, and banging, we figured something was wrong. I called in another company to check, and sure enough, the pressure was at 40, half the limit of 80. Things work great now and no banging pipes with pressure at 65. I do not know if Parkey's even checked the pressure after installing the new valve, but they certainly did not adjust to a usable level. The old valve in line was not a contributor to the problem, and we left in, adjusted for full flow. I had heard Parkey's plumbers work on commission, and therefore look toward maximum charge, but this business model, paired with incompetence is one to be avoided.

I got Parkey's contact information from Angie's List and inquired about a repair for our hot water heater. We have a broken control valve and received a replacement part from the manufacturer. I inquired about installation of the part-- something that should be a relatively simple request for a professional. They outright refused. The woman told me that they do not install ""owner provided parts"", even though the part is directly from the manufacturer.

I have worked with Parkeys on 3 occasions now since 2016. I recently had a new furnace installed at a rental, a new circulator pump for our boiler and they helped with a warranty with our boiler right after we moved in to our current residence.

I've worked with several HVAC companies here in El Paso County and in the Denver area over the years. I'm very pleased with most of the protocols and service I have received from this company. I feel I can count on them in an emergency and the communication that I value has been present when dealing with serious issues I have had.

I particularly like the gentleman who installed a furnace recently named Hugo, who actually took pride in his work and wanted to make sure my questions were answered.

If you are looking for a reliable and efficient company that communicates well, I recommend this one. One more thing. I know the big question for many is the price when comparing with others. I don't feel overcharged, but from working with several companies, it can cost you more in time, money and mental health when trying to quote the cheapest all the time. The communication part is a difference-maker when evaluating what you need and how comfortable you may feel when working with them.

Old furnace quit working mid-November which required immediate action. Parkey's had a technician there the next day to troubleshoot problem. Due to age of old furnace and its condition, it could not be re-started. Project Manager was on site following day to provide a quote for a new furnace and made arrangements for installation the following day. Kade was the installer who was efficient, professional and very knowledgeable about the products. He took great care and patience to ensure all of my questions/concerns were addressed. I highly recommend the entire Parkey's operation.

Installation and Installers were good, Working with them to schedule the inspection has been a nightmare. Scheduled a day with them, took off work and waited, only to find out that they didn't actually schedule the inspection, so we took off work and waited for nothing.

Great Experience. Had a new AC installed. Everyone from office staff and Braden who performed the work were professional and courteous. They were recommended by a co-worker and I would definitely recommend and continue to use their services.

Recently, I chose Parkey's to install a new furnace, humidifier and water heater in my home. Let me tell you, from the beginning, I received terrific service! Everyone at Parkey's was very helpful, delivered what they promised and performed excellent work. I had two other bidders on the job and while Parkey's was not the lowest bid, they offered superior equipment at a fair price. Then, their plumber and HVAC mechanic did amazing work! It was a pleasure welcoming them into my home. Take it from me, Parkey's will do a great job and maintain good communication with you. Give them a try and tell 'em Rick sent you!

I wish I could give ZERO stars. We were totally swindled by these crooks when our AC stopped working. Overcharged for everything and it wasn't even fixed. We called someone else out who identified the problem and basically told us that everything Parkey's SAID they did, was actually never done. They also charged us appropriately which was half of what we paid these jerks for literally not fixing anything.
We were robbed. And their ""techs"" work on commission which we didn't know. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!
