You only think of plumbing when something doesn't work. So I was thinking about my water heater a lot. Luckily it could not hear the things I said. I needed a shower and guests were coming. Crap.
Called Nathan and vented my problems.
He was polite. On time and worked fast to get me up and running. It was kind of funny. When I paid the bill Nate shook my hand and said, ""I took care of all the plumbing issues, but the other ones you mentioned on the phone, I don't think I can help you with those.""
Will use again.

Palomar Plumbing has been around for years now. Nathan (the owner) is knowledgeable, honest, ethical and very helpful. One of his guys (Fern) has been with him for a long time, and is skilled as well. I highly recommend Palomar Plumbing. No need to look anywhere else.

I highly recommend Palomar Plumbing, very professional and clean! Nathan was very knowledgeable and took care of our drain problem right away! I will always use their services!

Thank you Palomar Plumbing for your quick and professional service. I received a call back within minutes. They came out on the weekend with a great attitude and I appreciate the fact that they explain everything to you.
I highly recommend them. Professional and reasonable.

Wow... talk about customer service. This is my second time using Palomar Plumbing and they are amazing.
The first time was for a repair of a PVC water line break from the main meter to my house. Fern came out and completed the repair verified it worked and then came back an hour later just to verify that it was perfect.
Recently I had a water heater issue so of course I am going to call Palomar Plumbing right away and sure enough Nathan, the owner, answer the phone and says no problem we got you. Fern came over at 5:30 on Thursday night to diagnose the concern and turns out we needed a new water heater. Just like that we now have a great new water heater with an amazing install and I don't have to worry any more.
Thank you to Nathan and Fern for going above and beyond for my family and I. You guys were so up front and honest and not trying to push a sale. I will continue to use you and recommend you more. My parents, after my recommendation, used Palomar Plumbing as well and they were just as happy as I am.
For any plumbing or water heater needs Nathan at Palomar Plumbing should be your first call.

Just be smart and use them please... avoid my mistake. First experience with Nate and his team was when I was replacing a pan in my shower to get ready for my house to go on the market the following week. When removing the old pan my drain decided to come with it because of its age. Panic set in and I went Yelping. My neighbor and yelp raved about Nate so I shot out an email at 9PM on a Sunday for help. Six minutes later(on a Sunday night) I received a call from Nate to set up a meet at 9AM the next morning. At 830 the next morning I received a call that they were in route. Upon inspection of the situation I received a quote of most likely cost, but was also advised due to the age of piping they would need to dig until hitting solid pipe. Their estimate was based on what they believed would get them to good piping. Price was very fair based on work needing to be performed. Signed estimate and following day at 9AM sharp they showed up and began demo... they worked hard and efficient, trying their best to not spread the fine concrete dust. They finished within the day and I laid the concrete down and new pan down and tile guy was able to come on the scheduled day all because of Nate and the diligent work of his team..... fast forward a week and tile is all set. During tile work the original shower handle was broken and after some research figured out that my model is so old there is no replacement. Tried Nate again but due to situation the schedule could not line up. Called another reputable plumbing company. My girlfriend waited over three hrs for them to show up past scheduled time, they spent five minutes working on it only to run to van to come back and tell her that they would have to demo tile to point of unable to hide behind trim alone and that it would be $1500 to make repairs. She got me on the phone and it sounded fishy and not a very professional fix. Told him no thanks and to leave. He originally planned to charge us $110 for trip until my girlfriend pointed out that she is a property manager for a very big company that has that particular plumbing company as their main vendor. Needless to say like magic, the guy's attitude completely changed and so did the fee.... insert Palomar Plumbing again.... now I am in escrow and a couple days from home inspection. I reach out to Nate again hoping to slide me in for a Monday morning appt when I email on Friday afternoon. Nope! Nate does one better. Verifies my address and phone number and he has someone call me at 545PM on a Friday night to meet at my house. No extra fee or charge for the late visit.... and no rude attitude because Fernando had to work late. He literally comes in and I tell him the situation. He looks at it and says ""lets try the easy, cheaper fix first and see what we can do... after some grinding and cutting and new stem insert we verify my valve and stem are really old school and will be a pain to locate a replacement but could be done. Downfall is chasing the part down can land us at the same point we were now just two days closer to the inspection or we just update the valve to a moen that will always have replacements and a lifetime guarantee. I did not want to leave future home owner in same bind and get bad Karma for doing so and be without water until we could find replacement part and fewer days to inspections. Asked how bad the tile will look and Fernando says ""it will be cut behind trim and you will never know!"" I ask how that is even possible because other guy stated that he could not do that... Fernando simply says that he has been doing this for 30yrs and is a professional and takes professional pride in his work. I ask for the damage for the fix.... more than $1000 less than the guy who could not even do it ""right"" .... job took about an hour from that point and I was just charge for valve replacement and not the prior grinding and work around try. The water was not draining well so Fernando snaked it for me just to clear the grout or dirt that had been trapped during remodel (free of charge) and end the headache and all with a smile and understanding of my worry and panic of timeline. I now have a perfectly working shower and only one number will ever be called from here on out for plumbing issues.
The thing I really like about Palomar Plumbing is that they do hire only professional plumbers who do it right so they price it fairly and give you a set price because they know how long it will take them on average. They have been exceptional from beginning to end on both visits and repairs. Nothing but rave things to say about Nate and his team

Fernando showed up on short notice and fixed our issue. He was very friendly. Will definitely use Palomar Plumbing again.

This week, water was slowly leaking, a stain growing stain on our garage ceiling. I cut away most of the soggy drywall and could see water very slowly dripping from the pipe that drains a bathroom sink. But from below, I couldn't see the actual origin of the leak. To find and fix this, I was afraid one or more holes would be cut in the wall.
Wednesday morning I called one local plumbing company, left a message and waited for a reply. And waited....
3PM and nothing heard, so I called Palomar, again leaving a message. But with Palomar, Dustin called me back within a few minutes, saying he could come right then. I told him next morning would be fine, we agreed on 8 a.m.
He arrived right on time, I showed him the dripping pipe, and told him my suspicions.
Dustin went to work, cutting a small access hole in cabinet beneath the sink. He showed me several problems with the sink, but was sure the real problem was coming from the leaky toilet.
We agreed on his estimate, and he sent to nearby Home Depot for a new sink faucet set.
He efficiently fixed the toilet and overhauled the sink, replacing several components and installing the new faucet set. That piece of drywall he'd cut out went nicely back into place. Now I need to fix that garage ceiling...
Dustin was great - friendly and competent. I'm sure I'll be needing plumbing services again; I'll definitely be calling Palomar.

Called these guys out because they had such high reviews on yelp, but I am seriously disappointed in their assessment and service. Called them because two of our bathrooms were scalding hot no matter if on cold or hot. (Single handle turn on valve.) One of their guys came to look at it. With only turning the faucet on to confirm the water was hot even in cold position, he determined both cartridge values (I believe that's what he called them) need to be replaced. To replace it would cost $325 per value plus installation. Ridiculous, especially when I called around to other plumbers and they said parts would be $225. But at the time I didn't realize I was being overpriced and they said they'd order the parts and call me when they came in. After 10 days I texted them, they had forgot about me and said they would come out in three days. Five days later I texted them again, told them not to worry about showing up. A week and a half later, they texted me, apologizing for forgetting about me and wanted to know when they could come out. I told the guy I already texted you and told you don't worry about coming out, you even responded with an okay. Then over the next week I got another call, from him offering to do the job and a then another text from him, wondering when they could come out. So annoying.
But here's the kicker, I called the company (Plotke Plumbing) who installed my water heater and also asked them to give me a quote on fixing my showers. Turns out, there was a valve that wasn't installed on the line when they installed the water heater and the fixed the problem for free. Showers work perfectly fine now. I had told Palomar Plumbers I had a new water heater installed two months prior, they didn't think that was the issue. They didn't even look at the water heater to verify all was good.
I wouldn't used these guys for their inefficiency to properly diagnose the problem, their lack of organization and inability to get back to a customer in a reasonable timeframe.

Very professional and kept it simple which was nice. He even tightened a doorknob that needed fixing while he was at my place! Would highly recommend!!
