Its a shame that reviews can hurt a places reputation. You cant judge an entire business by a few peoples negative comments. All i can say is I've been using Palmer Supply for at least 6 years now and every time i go there its a pleasant experience. They always have what i need and the owner always passes knowledge onto me and has a great personality. Palmer is my first choice in plumbing supply. I've walked into a different supply house TWICE before and both times the guy behind the counter didnt even look in my direction. So for me its palmer all the way.

I'm a HVAC contractor from Brooklyn that moved in the area about a year ago and I passed this place by numerous times throughout the year . So I figured let me stop in and give them a try, well let's just say I will NEVER go back into this establishment!! The customer service sucks, I waited in line for over 10 minutes for the older guy behind the counter to give 101s on plumbing to guys who don't look qualified to even perform the task at hand. Then there is a young guy who is also behind the counter who not only didn't help me but he looked right past me and served two guys who walked in at least 20 mins after me smh. I commute to Brooklyn everyday and have PLENTY of supply houses that I deal with on a daily basis for years and thought I would give this LITTLE mom and pop supply house a try being that I managed a few in my day and I'm a small business trying to support another small business. But I see I should have just kept it pushing to 78 east and waited until I got to Brooklyn to get what I needed. Maybe they need a 101 in customer service instead of giving plumbing advice.Thanks for wasting my time Palmers.

Wow, where to begin. My father has owned a well respected plumbing company in the area for nearly 40 years. We don't generally use Palmer, but in the business when using supply houses usually you will get what is known as trade price. So I went here cause it was local and I was in a pinch for a small common item. The price was 40% more then a trade price. It was still an inexpensive part so I took it. (It was a black pipe nipple that came ""brand new"" rusted excessively which I was able to spiff up with a little oil.) So I went to the job long story short I didn't end up needing it. I went back to return it (in far better condition then I got it in) and said I didn't need it. Immediately the owner who sold it to me a hour earlier. Started telling me it's used and he wouldn't accept it, but would give me a new one when I mentioned the condition I purchased it in. However, he thought in his insane brain that, that made sense. I said no I would like my money back cause I don't need it and it was 5.00 more then the 7 dollar one I purchased elsewhere earlier in the day. He said they are manufactured-this and that, which I responded well it looks like you cut them yourself. Maybe I'm wrong, but don't really see how that matters regardless. He then went in the back and got the box of nipples (I'm still unaware of why) and started tossing it around the front counter after tell me ""listen I'm in a bad mood"" which I said ""you being in a bad mood doesn't really make a difference or have anything to do with me, so I don't really care about your bad mood I'd like my money back!my boss didn't like the condition it was in"". So he proceeded to go on a profanity filled rant telling me he was gonna kick me out of the store followed by more name calling and profanity. I felt pretty threatened to be honest he's walking around getting in my face with a piece of pipe in his hand flipping out. So I said some choice words back about ""this is how you treat your customers"" etc etc. I left. I'm In my truck backing out and I see the maniac come out the back door still with the box of pipe. Comes up to my truck right in my face screaming about the quality of the pipe I gather (really have no clue what the point was) then followed up with more threats and swearing before he told me ""i can never come back to this store you little cocksucker or I'll beat the shit out of you""! Classy business owner with great customer service skills i see. So first I would like to say if possible he would get negative stars. Also If I were you reading this I wouldnt come to this store, because he is a rip off, lastly if those reasons aren't a deterrent I would hope the psychotic true story I just wrote about his mental state of mind would help you decide to not go there. Also to be fair the one younger guy at the counter seemed super nice, nothing like the maniac and looked utterly petrified and shocked while watching his mental patient of a boss throw a fit. I'm currently at another supply house who says they absolutely would have accepted the item for return. The more you know!
