Recommended Customer Reviews

I want to echo all the sentiments that the other critical reviewers have given. I usually avoid giving negative reviews, but this was so egregious. My hope is that PCP improves their service as a result of this or to steer people away working with them. Of course I'm frustrated with the service, but my hope is always that a company will improve and if I felt they would actually listen to just my complaint directly I'd have left it to that. I encourage those people with positive experiences to write in.
My experience was that the communication was horrible with this company. One reviewer already wrote about missed appointments etc. at length so I won't share my similar story, though his was worse. I'm based in Santa Barbara, and maybe that's why the service was so exceptionally bad since it appears they are based in Santa Paula and I'm not local. One month later and the problem hasn't even been fixed and apparently they weren't able to do the job all along The story kept changing every time I called, and every time I was told they would call me back by them or the Home Warranty company they never did. Like other reviewers I was referred to PCP through the Home Warranty Company I'm signed up with. If you are based in Santa Barbara, and are referred to this company, I would quickly insist on being re-assigned to another company unless you see their recent reviews have improved.
The plumber when he did arrive the one time to assess the problem, did take his time, and was communicative with me, but he couldn't fix it at the time and the was the last I ever saw of him.
Good luck PCP, I hope you are able to improve and make it work better.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to use this company for some plumbing problems. They showed up for the initial appointment and fixed one of three problems. One problem was not fixed although they told us they had fixed it. Another problem required checking with our insurance company to determine coverage. Instead of following up and checking on the item needing insurance determination, they disappeared off the face of the earth.
We had to call them multiple times a day to get someone on the phone. When we left messages, our calls were never returned. We would not have been that persistent, but we were required to use this company by our insurance and had paid them a $75 fee for the service. The few times we did get someone on the phone they made excuses and then set up appointments that no one ever showed up for. Again, it seemed like they had disappeared off the face of the earth. No one contacted us to apologize or reschedule appointments, and again it was impossible to get anyone on the phone. There were probably about 5 appointments made that no one showed up for.
We finally called our insurance company and requested to be assigned another company. The insurance company also couldn't get them on the phone.
I'd also like to mention that for the one appointment they did show up for, they tracked dirt all over the house.
Edit: The one leak they fixed is leaking again. So they literally fixed nothing.

Showed up 1 time for 5 mines chaged 75.00$ on 7/12/16 need to order garbeg disposol .It is 7/26 /16 and they still haven't in stall it yet ,they don't keep there apontments no call. All i get is it's there fault. This will be the 3 time to reschedule .I have to use them due to my Insurance comp. what a nightmare.

The plumber who came out was very nice and helpful. The office that schedules the appointments is the worst ever. I have had a slab leak for 1 week with NO idea when it will be scheduled to be repaired. This business doesn't even have the courtesy to call us back when we call to find out when we are to be scheduled.
American Home Sheild should take this plumbing business off their list of service providers. They are awful.

I've also had Pacific Coast Plumbing come on two separate occasions. Efrain is great. He had to go buy parts and was still able to fix the problem extremely quickly. My recent experience with Elsa was much better than the first. The first time she promised some one would come the next day, and when no one showed up, she told me she never said that day. Either way Efrain was able to come the day I had taken off from work and all worked out fine. I would use them again! Thanks

I have had 5 appointments with Pacific Coast Plumbing. They never showed up for 3 of them. Elsa would say ""I'll call the technician and find out when they can be there and call you back"" but she never calls back. Never has, not once. Calling her again just gets her voicemail- she doesn't answer problem calls. She has caller ID so if you want her to actually answer your 2nd or 3rd call to find out how much longer you should wait around your house then when you call you need to use a different phone. So far I've missed 3 half-days of work. Elsa never calls and says ""he's running late"" or ""he can't make it"" it's up to you to call after your window of time is over and see when he might come by. Today I sat there from 11-5 for a promised 12-2 appointment.
If they weren't the authorized plumbing contractor for my home warranty then I'd never call them again. Funny thing all the other warranty contractors have been fantastic and I've added their business cards to my local contact list. I'm moving into the area. You'd think a plumber might like to help someone who is new and moving into a property with 3 kitchens and 5 bathrooms and 3 water heaters (ok it's a stupid big property with more than one house and I have a big family and we will all be happy living together) but Efrain seems like he's too busy to have new clients.
By the way the 2 times he was on site totaled up to less than 15 minutes of his time but more then 6 hours of mine. My insurance copay was $65, I stupidly paid $80 cash and it was pocketed so fast I forgot to ask for change. The other contractors I tipped heavily, they deserved it.
I'm sitting here in my kitchen again after being told yesterday ""we are really sorry and we will be there whatever time you say"". I said ""great how about 3pm tomorrow"". Elsa said ""I'll put you down as 1-4 pm"". I said ""that's not right you said whatever time works for me and that's 3pm"". So she put me down from 3-4pm. Yippee. Well now it's 455 pm Elsa at least emailed me at 330 and said ""he's going to be a little later than 4pm"". At 420 pm she let me know by email that he's just leaving his last appointment in Santa Barbara and will ""be there soon"". I'm in Oak View. 45 minutes without traffic.
I'm concerned that writing this review now before the work is done will mean they'll never show up again but I'll take that risk.
If you have any other choice do not call Pacific Coast Plumbing. Anybody else has to be more professional, more considerate, more polite, and more respectful of your time and money. Really. Call anyone else.

Had Pacific Coast Plumbing twice and am very satisfied. Efrain was the plumber both times and resolved the issues efficiently and professionally.
Although other reviews comment on Elsa, my experience was that she was very helpful.
This almost sounds like a duplicate positive review of the previous posted comment, of 1/18/16.
Anyway, thanks to Efrain and Elsa.

Pacific Coast did an excellent job, Efrain did an excellent job and came at the time he was suppose too. Elsa also followed up to make sure the job was completed and was to my satisfaction.

To the business owner: since you said ""As I said to you over the phone, a second opinion sometimes it's helpful and that's exactly what ahs did"", I assume you were the lady that I talked about in my original review - that's great! Then please answer my following questions if you want to follow up:
1) I called you many times (at least 10), you never picked up my phone call (not even a single time) - is it true?
2) I left voice messages and asked you to call me back - you never called me back (except the last one that you mentioned about 2nd opinion) - is it true?
3) Because I could not find you, I had to call AHS many times, and every time, over the phone, AHS called you, and each single time, you picked up the phone call from AHS - is it true?
4) The first time, when you, me and a representative from AHS were all in the phone - you said the reason that you did not respond me was because I had more than one faucets to be fixed, so you need to do some paper work with AHS to make sure that they would be covered, and then you would contact me - is this true? Then did you contact me?
5) To make sure you would fix my faucets, a lady from AHS added 2 more items to my service request, and let you contact me within a time window, but you did not contact me at all - was it true?
6) So, finally, when AHS set another restricted time to let you contact me, and you did it. And over the phone, I double-checked with you - you said that all my faucets would be fixed - is it true?
7) Then, technician came...but he only wanted to fix one faucet, and he said he had no idea at all about rest of faucets because no one told him anything about it - is it true? You can asked him then answer my question.
8) When the technician was here, I called you at least twice, and you did not pick up my phone call (this was what I expected), so I asked the technician to call you, and you answered his phone immediately - is it true?
9) You told technician that you would call me right away, and you let him leave. But you did not call me until a couple hours later (and after I call you several times, left several messages) - is it true?
10) Then, I called AHS, and I was told that you said to AHS that nothing was wrong with my faucets - is it true? You can check with AHS before answering this question
11) Finally, you called me, and said you talked with AHS about the issues of my faucets, but AHS would not cover those fixing, so you could not help, and let me ask 2nd opinion - is it true? See 10) for what AHS told me.
No more questions to ask you, but I would like to give you some updates:
1) After I explained the issues of my faucets to the lady from AHS, she said she could not understand why you did not want to fix, and she also told me, all you said to AHS was ""nothing was wrong"" with my faucets...
2) AHS asked another contractor for my service request, and only ~10 min later after request was submitted, I got the phone call from the contractor (on Friday afternoon), and then the appointment was set on Saturday (yesterday). A super nice technician came and easily fixed the faucet in my kitchen which bothered me for a long time. He was surprised why your company did not want to fix. He said it was a very common faucet issue and it is covered by AHS for sure.
3) Due to some miscommunication between AHS and this contractor, the nice technician only fixed one faucet in the kitchen, but he was very happy to go over all faucets, and told me ALL these issues would be covered by AHS, but he need to get the permission from AHS to fix them (because he was the 2nd opinion company). So I called AHS today, and then AHS help me submit another service request to this company, and let this company fix all my faucets. Guess what? A couple hours ago (~9pm on Sunday evening), the company called me and set an appointment on Tuesday. I will be super happy to keep you updated!
4) Another update: the only faucet that the technician from your company fixed last Friday started to leak again, so today I mentioned it to AHS, and it will be fixed on Tuesday as well!
I wasted too much time with your company... it bothered my life a lot! And you do not know how happy I was when AHS finally agreed to ask another company to take care my faucets! I will write another review for this 2nd opinion company after all my faucets are fixed, to help everyone who has a chance to read my reviews choose a right contractor!

Pacific Coast Plumbing came to me via my home warranty insurance. The previous day another plumber - sent by the same home warranty company - had failed to fix the mess we were in. So I was a little apprehensive, especially when I looked online & read the review from Maja S.
Efrain arrived punctually. He was clean, personable, knowledgable & capable. After a little trouble shooting, he fixed our plumbing mess.
He came equipped with all the tools and equipment needed & got the job done.
I'm thrilled because it was bad.
I would not hesitate to use him again.
