Carla P.I had previously written a glowing review because @ one time he was a great plumber. What I wrote is still true except his reliability and demeanor has vastly changed. I think Paul now has too many clients and its best you choose someone else for your plumbing needs, I have.
Initially I thought his demeanor had changed because I had to inform him a reference he had given me for gas fitting work was NOT licensed and he insisted that he was, told him I researched it, he's not. He was annoyed I didn't just ignore that fact and hire him anyway since he gave me that reference. Nope, not licensed, I don't hire, plain and simple.
In April 2019 my mother's facet began leaking and she needed a plumber. We called Paul as we had for many prior years. She left her message on his voice mail and that evening he returned the call. He made an appointment with her a week from that date and she questioned why not sooner, he said was very busy @ that time. So since we had a good experience with him in the past, she waited that week using paper dishes and plastic cups whenever possible. The evening before he was to arrive (the next day), he called her to cancel the appointment. She had a week without a kitchen facet and now he was cancelling! He was very rude & condescending towards her and refused to honor his commitment.
So now she had to find another plumber and start all over, thankfully she found someone much better who came the very next day. I guess Paul got his wish, we're no longer happy customers and will never call him again.
Istvan T.This isn't the review I wanted to write. I had high hopes for Scholl plumbing, even though there were only two reviews. When I reached out on yelp, I didn't immediately hear back but then Mrs Scholl responded saying that her husband doesn't do the computer correspondence so I called instead. After a day or two Mr. Scholl returned my call and we set up a time for him to come out to the house.
He called at the appointed time, but since I am a school teacher, I couldn't answer the phone at the moment he called. He left a message indicating we had an afternoon appointment. My wife was at home waiting all afternoon, anticipating a 3:00 or so arrival. When I returned his call an hour later he didn't answer, so I left a message which he didn't return. I called again at 8 saying we had hoped to see or hear from him.
He called my wife this morning (next day). He spoke to her with a demeanor that was short and unpleasant. He seemed to indicate that we were at fault for not keeping the scheduled appointment by not answering the phone. I know it's customary to call before a service call but I've never had a tech not come out to the house because we missed that call. At least a call back to my message would have been nice. But to call the next day and scold my wife who waited at home all afternoon is not cool.
He did grudgingly say he could schedule an appointment to come out another time, but, not surprisingly, after the way he spoke to my wife on the phone, she isn't comfortable being alone in the house with him. When she said she would have to talk to me before scheduling again, he slammed the phone down. (I guess that's one of the advantages of using an old style landline)
I really like to support the ""little guy,"" and when I heard that Mr. Scholl works all alone and does his own work, that was one of the reasons I called him. In this case it's clear that it doesn't mean we are going to get considerate or professional treatment. When we make an appointment, we always keep it. If we can't, we call.
