Same company, keep changing address in google and yelp, to cheat ignorant people who cannot find the correct reviews.
Actually this is a company is based in Kirkland, WA. However, the address was changed to AZ in yelp, so by google ""Outtoday Seattle"" now people cannot easily find this yelp review page. It links to the same company website in Kirkland, WA. Also, all reviewers are from Seattle area. Please please read the reviews in my pasted yelp link carefully, and finish reading my review here before you contact them.
I was charged for 10k+, and turned out their replaced water boiler doesn't work at all, and there is water leakage in the basement.
My water boiler used for heating stopped working 2 weeks ago, Most other companies had full schedule. Contacted them, and they come the next morning. Of course, I didn't find that yelp review because of their clever trick.
The guy came, and said it was the valve not working fine, replacing it costs 1k and will fix definitely it. He can do a quick fix next day. I paid.
Next day he came, and after some time, he complains ""Valve is fine now. The water boiler in your home is too old and extremely dirty, not well maintained, everything broken. Not only the valve, but found the computer chip doesn't work, which will cost another 1k"". I asked why he didn't find it yesterday. He claimed that before valve is fixed he cannot test other part. He suggested replacing the whole water boiler will be a much better option, and he needs to go to the factory to check and will give me quote.
Next day he gives me three options: 6k normal one, 9.6k more efficient one and 14k superb one. We chose the 9.6k one. They I paid the amount, and he ordered that water boiler from Portland. He promised to us that the new device will heat very fast, never break in 10 years, and after two days we can enjoy the warm air again.
He didn't come on time next day claiming he was sick. Then he come 3 times on different days, never made the boiler working, with the excuse ""need new part for installation, the pipes have some problems in your home, etc"". He also caused water leakage in my basement and secretly left my house in the basement door without noticing me during his work.
Finally after a week he make the vent begin to blow little air. He said now everything is finished, we can enjoy the warm home. However, he claims that since it's a new installation, the first time heating will be slow.
After he left, the vent even stopped to blow any air. I can only hear the boiler working, but there is no warm air in the room at all.
Then suspicious about his service, I finally found that yelp review page, and confirmed that I'm cheated in the same way all other reviewers were.
What happened to me, exactly same thing happened to other reviewers:
(1) first saying that fixing part will suffice, then after charge and work, claim everything broken, and need whole replacement.
(2) charge 5x the fair price
(3) take very long time to install, and finally finished with something which doesn't work, and break other stuff as well.
(4) ""accent has something to do with quote being that high"", take advantage of ignorant people, especially those not grow up in US, first home owner, and not familiar with the service here
(5) Give out quote in handwritten, no model and make, and just claim price.
Tim T.First cold day of the fall and of course my furnace would not work. Called out today and they were at my house same day exactly when they said they would. The repair man was polite and quickly diagnosed my problem. It was not what I suspected to be a blower motor replacement, rather a much cheaper capacitor issue. I was going to buy the blower motor and fumble through installing myself, but I'd have been doing it all wrong. Then the pros at out today prove to me its often better to call someone that knows what the heck they're doing. Really appreciate their service....highly recommended.
Extremely rude. I called the guy asking if he has commercial rates (for the business I work for), and he replied rudely ""We don't wasn't your service, thanks anyways."" and hung up on me. I assumed he thought I was a solicitor, so I called back and he said, again, ""Yea, you just called, we don't want service with you. We're extremely busy and very pricey, we don't have commercial rates for you."" Even after I assured him that I'm not a solicitor.
I've never in my life dealt with someone who could be so rude. After looking at other reviews, these guys are extremely pricey and apparently their plumbers end up braking the stuff they install and pressure the customer into spending large amounts of money into fixing what they broke. As a maintenance shop ourselves (for vehicles), that's unacceptable.
Whether I work for a business or I want my own home fixed, I will NEVER be contacting these guys for help.
My experience: 1) They did not show up at all. 2) They did not call. 3) They forgot about me. 4) When I called them they yelled at me and hung up on me twice.
I called them on a Thursday and scheduled an appointment for help with some lights on the following Saturday between 10am and 12pm. On Saturday I waited for them. They did not show up. They did not call me. At 12:30pm I called them to see where they were and if they were coming at all. A guy answered and admitted that they forgot about me. I told him they should have at least called me, and that it was bad customer service to not show up and not call. The guy said I would have to find someone else. The line disconnected. I wasn't sure if he hung up or we jus got disconnected so I called back. The guy yelled at me and hung up.
Recommendation: Avoid this business!
Scheduled an electrician a week in advance, had a 4 hr window and I waited until 4, called to check, they said someone would call me back to check in.. they never did. Called back was told they were not coming but that when they did come it would be ""on them"" .. well no one ever called me back, not that day and not the next. Called again the next day and was simply told sorry we can't help you. I've waited a week to have these people come send an electrician and now the solution they choose was just ""sorry call someone else"". . .
If someone at the company reads this please note: I was polite and understanding the whole time and I really think the right thing to do would be for the company to call and schedule me with another company and pay for it. You should not commit to performing a service for customers to have them waiting for days and hours and then not even perform the service !
I had a plumbing emergency the other day. Every plumber I called either couldn't make it immediately or they wanted to charge ridiculous fees. A friend recommended me to call these guys. They answered the phone and immediately put me in touch with a plumber who didn't want to charge hundreds of dollars to just show up. The plumber showed up quickly and took care of the leak. Very clean, professional and friendly. I would use these guys again and again. Lets hope I don't need a plumber again!
Mark D.Worse experience ever!!! If I could gave them a negative star rating I would. They overcharged me to replace a blower motor. They totally took advantage of the fact that is was really cold and that I had a baby and young child in the house. I couldn't get another company out to service my unit because everybody was extremely busy. They charged me $1300 for a blower motor which is RIDICULOUS!! After they left, my heat pump stopped working...coincidence? Doubt it!! They came back and told me that I needed to replace the whole unit. They gave me 3 options. $13k, $18k, and $24k. Are you kidding me?? GTFOOH!! I called another air and heat company and they came out and changed the 30A breaker and it worked!! Unethical SOBs!! They gave me a generic receipt with no company name on it. Very suspect, I wish I would have read the reviews first. Avoid at all cost!!!
Sam P.This company is a joke. In Feb, my furnace stopped working and an OutToday technician came to fix, I was charged about $700 (replaced a part, I was not sure if my old part truly stopped working) in less then 40 minutes. That's okay because in a cold winter I was desperately waiting for heat. The guy told me his work/part had a 12-month warrantee. Today, 8 months afterwards, I found my furnace couldn't start again with the exact same symptom as Feb's(I haven't used it for whole summer), I called OutToday Bellevue office and was told they had closed their business in my home area. warrantee? sorry, the guy answered, we couldn't find anyone working for that area...
Markds M.Bait and switch operation. Use a good, better, and best bid process to their methodology but will not stand behind their work when you pay for gold. Come off as good folks, but complete double talk. Bad workmanship and worse professionalism in their practices. Stay away from this outfit. Said their work would be good for 5 years but 3 months later everything they did failed and they did not live up to any of the promises. Wrote it off to a bad investment and will never use them again. Their bad karma will eventually catch up with them.
Gary M..I would give this less that one star if it were possible. Our furnace wouldn't start one morning in the middle of winter. We called Out Today.com. They sent two technicians out (why? - slow day?)
The diagnosis? ""Mechanical fault in the furnace safety system.""
The Solution: ""Minor rebuild of the furnace safety system.""
They charged $1,206.09 for a few hours work. Invoice broken down like this: Appearance fee $109.00 Flat Rate Price $992.45. Subtotal $1104.45 Tax $104.64 Total $ 1206.09.
The same ""fault"" happened again 15 months later. A 1/2 hour of internet research, 1/2 hour to diagnose, a $35 part, and about a 20 minutes to replace the faulty part, and all is well. There has to be a better company than this.
