Called OTECH on Saturday as my whole house humidifier wasn't working and HVAC is not something I feel particularly competent at. He said he could come over Sunday. He showed up a bit later than expected - got held up at a previous appointment, but I hadn't had anything planned for Sunday anyway and I was pleased that he was able to come over on short notice and on a Sunday. He pulled out the voltmeter and determined the humidistat wasn't working properly. I'm pretty handy and he suggested it was something I could save a bunch of money on by doing myself. His charge for the service call was reasonable. Between the service call and buying the replacement part on ebay, I spent about $150 dollars in total. Took me about 30 minutes to install the new part. Will definitely call Omar again if I have any concerns or HVAC problems in the future.

My AC was blowing warm air in my rental unit, and because it was 90 degrees outside I was desperate to get it fixed or else my tenants were going to a hotel. I called around to a few places, and even though it was 5pm on the Friday before Labor Day, Omid came out within a couple of hours AND his service call charge was only $50 (some quoted $150-$225). He diagnosed the problem very quickly and gave me a very complete explanation of the problem and what it was going to take to fix it. He gave me an estimate which was lower than competitors (I live in a condo so I could easily compare prices with what some of my neighbors paid). I ended up getting a family friend to replace the unit (my dad insisted) but I will call them again if I have any future HVAC issues.

Friday evening before a hot summer weekend, the A/C in my condo stopped working. I called around on Saturday morning and all the big companies couldn't come out until Monday. I called OTECH and the technician was out in 3 hours.

The technician was great: very friendly and knowledgeable. He had a can-do attitude, he didn't give me any BS, and the quote he gave me over the phone was accurate. He kept his word and didn't try to add extra charges.

These guys will be my go-to problem-solvers in the future. I've used other companies before, so I know when I find a good one. Highly recommend these guys.

Bottom Line: OTECH runs an honest, responsive, and reasonably priced business in an industry ridden with those looking to take advantage of susceptible homeowners. If having a relationship with a Plumbing / HVAC company that genuinely cares about their customers is important to you, give them a call.

I had my A/C system go out mid-July, one of the hottest times of the year. I gave OTECH a call Sunday morning, not expecting anyone to return my call until Monday at the earliest. To my astonishment, a technician picked up immediately and let me know they could be at my house in an hour. The technician quickly got to troubleshooting and identified the problem. He did a great job educating me as to what the problem was, explaining what needed to be done to fix it and gave me transparent pricing on the cost of labor and materials. An honest home-services company can be challenging to find these days, do yourself a favor and give these guys a shot.

They're now a permanent fixture in my contacts list and have earned my business for years to come.

Honest work and pricing. They are not trying to get rich quick, but more trying to earn your business for the long haul. I called them and they serviced my toilet within the hour. They actually gave me some pointers on how to do it myself if I wanted to, but said they would come and do it for a fee as well. I highly recommend them.

Our second son had just turned 4 weeks old when we noticed our home A/C unit had stopped cooling one humid Saturday in June. We'd originally bought a home warranty with our house (regret it) and tried to work through their vendor to schedule emergency service. After multiple calls, automated prompts, and no human response, I turned to Yelp and found OTEC.

My first call was immediately answered by a real person and despite the late Saturday timing, I was given a window of 2-3hrs for them to be at my house.

Seemed too good to be true, but within that window I had two technicians arrive and get straight to work. They found a faulty compressor and while I'll eventually need to replace the 20yr old unit, they were able to get it up and running again for the time being. All for a reasonable service fee.

My wife, 18month old, 4 week old, and dog couldn't be happier - even though this is a short term solution.

I am very impressed with OTECH. It's Memorial Day weekend and it seemed like nobody was open. My air conditioner broke down and I had no idea how to fix it. As soon as I called, someone was on the way to help me. Within 30 minutes he arrived and in another 10 minutes he was able to figure out that the fuses on the outdoor portion of my air conditioner had burnt out.

He didn't have any spare fuses that would have worked for my air conditioner, but he told me the exact kind I needed to get and carefully showed me how to change them. Not only did he teach me, but without any prompting from me he told me he was only going to charge me the service fee, which he knocked from $50 down to $35. He also told me to call him right away if changing the fuses didn't do the trick.

I highly recommend OTECH, you really can't go wrong with this company. Fast, professional, and friendly.

April 26th: This company was super responsive & immediately wanted to complete my repair.

May 15th Update: I had another plumbing issue & this company was so helpful once again!
His over the phone consultation helped me determine where the issue began. This guy is honest & not trying to get over on anyone. I've called several companies in the Northern VA area & they don't compare.

If I ever need any immediate and emergency assistance, I will call OTECH!!
