As soon as the average person thinks about a contractor of any kind the first thing is to believe you are going to be over charged , receive poor workmanship and at the worst pay a deposit and never see them again.
As a long time homeowner and as a trial lawyer who sees the worst of people, I will ask you to forget all horrible thoughts and engage the services of this company.
You become family, they are responsive, the service people are gentleman and respectful and polite.
The company is a family run business. They treat your family as they would want to be treated.
The owners are hands on and most importantly your calls are returned.
If 10 is the best rating please know my family gives them a 12 !

My pool heater broke and the manufacturer recommended these people for a replacement. OSI refused to even quote me a price unless I first signed a maintenance service contract and agreed to get my oil from them.

These people are bullies. Do not deal with them.

OSI is not only reliable, but also knowledgeable and professional. My husband and I are recent homeowners, and when it came to choosing an oil company, they were hands down the best after calling multiple other companies. They had excellent customer service and had us scheduled under a contract easily and effortlessly. But what was even more comforting was their response to an emergency we had. Our oil tank sprung a leak one Saturday morning. My husband noticed oil on our basement floor and we immediately called OSI. Someone was at our home within an hour, giving us a replacement tank and assuring us that they would take care of everything. The workers were respectful, professional and knowledgeable. My husband and I watched as they seamlessly solved our problem, what a relief! To top it all off, Michael called to make sure everything went well and we were satisfied customers. Let's just say, we are beyond satisfied! Thank you OSI!

I had an issue where it was taking 12 hours to cool a new home. OSI agreed to come out and look at it for $155. They noticed dirty clogged filters that needed to be replaced which I was wiling to pay for, they said Freon was getting low and I was willing to pay for that as well. However, because we had two compressors they said they wanted me to pay essentially double for the guy who came down. They wanted me to pay as if they made two separate service calls before he would even look at the second condenser.

They also forgot/lied about the original price they quoted of $155 and changed it to $185. (Before the additional $155 for the second condenser.)

I just don't understand why they would throw away a customer with these shenanigans. If this was their actual policy you would think they would ask you how many condensers you have when making the appointment and quoting a price. Having two condensers is not unusual.

These guys were referred to us by friends when we moved to Long Island and we are so grateful. We've had a number of issues with our AC unit and they are officially on speed dial! I can text or call at any hour and they will reply within minutes. The entire team is extremely knowledgeable, polite and considerate. They take their time to get the job done right and ALWAYS follow up afterwards. I didn't think this type of company existed in this industry and we're lucky to have found them when we needed experts in heating and cooling the most. I highly recommend them if you need any sort of service with heating, cooling, or electric - they are officially part of our ""team"" that is required to keep a house operating at its best.

You are obviously looking at this review because you are shopping for a heating/cooling company. Look no further. These ARE the guys. When I started using their services years ago they were simply an oil delivery company. They've added plumbing, electrical, A/C and alarm service to their ""menu"". They don't ""farm it out"". They handle everything in-house. Latest dilemma : my water heater ""passed away"". Michael reviewed the situation, educated me, and arranged the installation of an indirect water heating system. Water and heat are piping hot and better than I can remember. You can break you back looking for a ""discount oil company"". What you'll find is they really aren't much cheaper and the most important factor won't be there. Think about it being -5 degrees outside and your oil burner stops working. It's happened to me and OSI was at the house in less than 30 minutes on a weekend!
Every associate I've interacted with has always been polite, efficient and most important-knowledgeable.
I utilize all of their services. Owners are always available to speak with you personally. 4th generation family operated business. They get it.

You never want to wake up without heat, but that's especially true when it's 19 degrees out. I called at a little after 7am today and after about 3 rings, someone answered. I was a bit thrown off as I was ready to start entering prompts or pounding on 0. I explained that I had no heat, the guy on the phone was nice, took my info and promised he'd get someone out here today. To my surprise the tech showed up at 10am, did his troubleshooting, explained what happened, what he did and by noon, my radiators and were hot and there's hot water. I have the contract with OSI. There was no charge, no run around, just a great job by a friendly tech.

Fantastic response time!
During the blizzard last week, our hot water heater died after 17 years.
Michael Levy came quickly, also diagnosed a problem with the exhaust to the chimney and had us up and running in 1 day. They removed the old heater and left the area spotless.
We have been a customer for over 15 years be a use of their reliability, expertise, professionalism and cleanliness.
Extremely professional and courteous!
This is the""go to"" company for plumbing, heating, A/C and electrical work.

Just moved into a house with oil and while looking for a company to sign up with for a service contract, the unit stopped functioning. I called OSI and spoke with Michael that was able to come the same day. He came in and explained all the details of service and the billing. He went right to work on my unit and got it all back up and running. I was very pleased with the entire process.

This company sent my 88 yo mother a bill for $231.37 for changing 5 lightbulbs in her house. Never discussed the cost with her prior to providing service. She is a regular customer of theirs for oil delivery. They reduced their bill to 160+ on complaint. Still 30+ / light bulb. Outrageous.
