Original 718 Sewer & Drain

For about a week, the pair of sinks in one of our 2nd-floor bathrooms had been draining slowly. I have a good drain snake and tried to clean them out myself but those two sinks both have an elbow joint with such an acute angle I couldn't get the snake past them. I cleaned out some material, mostly hair, but the sinks continued to drain very slowly.

After reading reviews here on Yelp I decided to contact Original 718 Sewer and Drain. Michael got back to me via a Yelp message very quickly, we spoke briefly on the phone, and we agreed on a time for his team to come to my home - same day, on a Sunday! Two of the staff arrived within the window of time expected. They were both very nice, seemed to know what they were doing, but didn't have a necessary tool with them so after struggling for a long while they contacted Michael who told them to wrap it up and to inform me that another technician would be sent the next morning. The pair of techs cleaned up before they left.

Peter arrived the next morning within the appointment window. Again, VERY nice fellow and he not only had the necessary tool but his level of skill seemed to be at a higher level than the guys who had come the previous day. He completed the job quickly, cleaned up afterward, and left me very satisfied. The work was not inexpensive but it definitely took some time and the plumbing was left in better, more easily maintained shape so that if the same problem recurs I should be able to handle it myself.

I received texts from the office with ETA, names of the techs, and other useful information from our first contact to the completion of the job.

It's hard to find a good plumbing contractor with staff that behaves respectfully and does a good job. I've used other plumbers in the past and have not been satisfied for one reason or another which is why I turned to Yelp for this job. My next job? I'm going to call 718 Sewer and Drain.

I called and within 2 hours I had Peter at my door. He was professional, courteous, and very good about explaining what he would be doing to clear our front house drain. He tried more than 8 times to clear the drain with a snake (It had decades of dirt in it) and we discovered a problem at the drain cap access inside the house that would have required a contractor to fix and a repeat visit from them to clean it out. After explaining to me very carefully what I should have the contractor do he said he would try one more time to clear the drain. He was persistent and that last time it worked! I'm so happy and even if it had turned into a bigger problem I think his advice/instruction was great and that I was in good hands. Their price was great too. Very happy.

Anthony picked up right away, he was super friendly and sent me a text after we hung up, about my appointment. The next day I got a text the plumbers were on their way. Victor fixed my garbage disposal right away. He was friendly and professional as well.

Great professional service!!!
After a bad experience with that 49.95 company and another company that charged me sooo much money I really was dreading having to call for plumbing service. I was looking through the reviews crossing my fingers to find a company that had BOTH reasonable rates and were professional (seems it's hard to find). I called, spoke with Jimmy and he set me up with an appointment the following day as I requested from 9a-11a. I received a text message when they were on their way that morning. Victor came and he was friendly, efficient and professional. He cleared my shower drain and the drain to the main sewer at a reasonable price. I will definitely be using their service again. I had a brutally clogged toilet that was left sitting like that for a week while I was out of town for work. After not getting a reply from a few other companies I called up 718 got an immediate response and they were at my apartment within an hour.

My apartment was basically a biohazard with that toilet open and they snaked it, cleared the blockage, and had the toilet flushing normally in under 30 minutes. These guys are awesome and I'll absolutely call them if I run into any problems in the future.

Poor experiences with other plumbers had me on my guard. I had a 9am-11am window for arrival and they arrived around 8:30am. I received text and email to confirm the appt. and to let me know the technician was on the way. They arrived 30 minutes early. I explained the situation of the clogged drain and back to back bathrooms and Omar and Anthony were efficient and did the job well. Cost was very reasonable at $150+tax+tolls.

Sent a message through Yelp. Got a call back right away and scheduled a visit for a clogged sink. Justin came by and he did a great job. Was friendly and explained exactly what he was doing. Noticed a couple of extra things that were wrong and fixed those as well. Will be my go to for my plumbing needs moving forward. Reasonably priced as well. Keep up the great work 718!

Horrible.
First of all, don't even bother calling their ""Office"" it's just the owners cellphone which he barely answers. To make matters worse after calling him a couple of times to make an appointment, he's impossible to get in touch with another time.
I called to fix an issue with a clogged pipe. I explain the issue and set an appointment with 718 cleaners. I was partly to blame, because I was unable to be present while the plumber came by. I did have my sister (which is very unaware of what needed to be done). My sister helped the plumber get set on snaking the pipe. He called me and quoted me $120 to fix the clog. After snaking the pipe once, and called me to complain he couldn't get it done, and they he would need to bring another machine. He also said it would now cost $240. I agreed on that price, and the plumber snaked it again one time. After snaking it once, the plumber called me again and said that he would need to a hydro pump, and quoted me $1200 to unclog one pipe. After that ridiculous quote I refused any work and told the plumber to stop working. He now claims I had to pay over $100 for ""wasting his time"". The office (owners cellphone) did not answer, leaving me with no choice but to pay him and get him out of the house.
I want to note that another plumber was called and was able to take care of the problem for $150. He also mentioned the last plumber never opened the trap.
I want a refund for the $100

These guys are the best! I've used them twice (2 separate issues) and their prices are reasonable for a first time home owner like myself. I have saved their number on my phone and they will be my first call if I need a plumber again.
