Left a message and text to Steve. We setup a preliminary time for the next day, Steve texted me that morning that he would be in the area and come by. Him and Todd came to install/replace my sprinkler controller with a smart controller. They did a great job and everything was working. They are non fluff straight shooters with my options. They are reasonable priced and completed the work in a timely matter. Would definitely recommend and use them again.

Like others posting 5-star reviews here and elsewhere, I had an excellent experience with Orange County Sprinkler Repair. (I first heard about them when a neighbor recommended the company on our community listserv.)

A few hours after I contacted them for service, a nice down-to-earth repair tech, Todd Wilbur, called me and asked whether he could come to our property that very afternoon because he was in the neighborhood. He quickly fixed a couple of broken parts on a sprinkler, replaced a leaking valve, simplified some wiring, and explained everything, and the charge was very reasonable. I would most definitely use OC Sprinkler Repair again!

I think it helped that I read the important material included in the ""About the Business"" box on the Yelp website. I followed the owner's (Steve Stoeckel's) suggestion to first send him a text at (714) 313-8911 stating my name and cell number, the address of the property, and a brief description of the problem, including that it was not an emergency situation. When I later spoke on the phone with Steve, he said he developed this advice because it was efficient to have the basics in a text message so he could save time by not having to write everything down himself.

In dealing with this 40-year-old company, it's important to keep in mind that this is a lean operation without a regular office person on staff to answer calls, issue invoices, and so on. I was initially surprised not to receive a receipt when I handed over my check to Todd, for example, but when I understood how busy the company is, I was grateful that the owner is prioritizing service rather than fancy paperwork.

When I asked Todd about the irrigation repair business in general, he told me how the owner has to decline some jobs because they are just too complicated, or because the distance is too far, or the access is difficult. For example, Todd said that galvanized pipe can be a problem that requires the extra expertise of a plumber rather than just a sprinkler repair person. He said that Steve focuses on jobs that he knows are ""in his bailiwick.""

I think some of the (very few) negative reviews of the company may be because the owner just got overwhelmed during the busy summer season and couldn't return calls promptly, or couldn't keep track, or had to be out in the trenches himself because he couldn't find workers, especially during Covid. As Steve says in his ""About the Business"" box on Yelp, ""In times of unusually high call volume - Please call back with a friendly reminder.""

When I looked at the dozens of photos posted here on Yelp (there's a closeup of Steve at the end), I saw how difficult and dirty irrigation repair work can be. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it is to do it in the summer heat and/or under emergency conditions. I feel grateful to Steve and his employees for continuing to provide such good, honest service to so many customers over the past four decades.

Todd reached out to me same day to stop by and check out what I needed. Once he arrived he survyed my needs and quoted a price for the work which was very fair.

Todd was able to start the same day and he got straight to work I could tell I found the right guy for the job immediately. He is a professional with extreme knowledge of irrigation and landscaping I couldn't be happier to find them on Yelp.

Once the job was completed Todd made sure to walk the entire yard with me and make sure I was happy with the work, spoiler I was thrilled with it.

I am certainly impressed with Steve and his business for the amazing repair they completed. I called Steve around 8am and explained that we had a leak in our sprinkler system. Within the hour, his team member, Angel, arrived to my house and inspected the leak. He said he could get it done in an hour. 45 minutes later (or less), Angel advised that the work was completed. Throughout the process, Angel kept me informed of what the issue was and what he would do to fix it. Once he was done, he verified with me that the job was completed to satisfaction.

Certainly a great experience and I fully recommend anyone to reach out to Steve for quality and professional service!

Orange County Sprinkler Repair exceeded all my expectations. Ten stars! My sprinkler head pop off the day before leaving for vacation. I found excellent reviews for OC Sprinklers on Yelp and texted the owner, Steve, to ask for help. That same day Angel came and fixed the immediate problem and several other minor problems. He also reset the timer that hadn't been properly programmed in months. He came back the following week and replaced three valves. He also did a complete inspection, diagnosis and repair of the entire system and added three drip lines. I couldn't be happier with their prompt attention and exceptional service. Highly recommend!!

I had a stuck valve on my sprinkler system that wouldn't turn off. I called Steve on a Sunday and he interrupted his family time to come out and get it fixed. They picked up my call right away and the rep was able to troubleshoot my issue over the phone. The person I spoke with was really patient and was able to diagnose the issue without visiting my home.
