Jeff C.The service rep showed up the same day we called. Our washing machine drain line was clogged flooding our utility room. The rep asked a few preliminary questions and went to work snaking out the line. Within an hour the line was cleaned and flowing fine.
I was very pleased with the response time and the service provided by the rep. So often service company are in a big rush to get in and out. Our rep was more interested in resolving the problem and making sure we were happy with the visit.
I highly recommend O'Quinn's. They are very professional and eager to please.
Kevin S.Found a $50 Valpak coupon the day I needed a kitchen clog cleared. Wish I caught his name, but they came by the same day on time, but that's about the only positive thing I could say. He seemed like he was in a rush and left trying to sell me on a full inspection. Slow your role, homie, we just met.
What's worse, he didn't quite finish the job, since just hours later, while lightly rinsing dishes, the sink backed up again. I should've done my due diligence, but was desperate. To HomeAdvisor I go...
UPDATE (10/2017): Some employee named Eddie under the Yelp account ""Angie B."" sent me a long personal rant about all the negative reviews on Yelp, assuming I found some deal on Angie's List (I didn't) and those people expecting ""something for nothing"". It didn't warrant a reply, but thought I'd mention it as an update here on how unprofessional the whole experience had been from start to finish.
And for the record, I went with Plumberologist and couldn't have been happier. They stayed there and ensured that the sink clog was completely cleared and even gave me some tips for the future on keeping it from clogging again. They cost a little more and I didn't have a coupon, but they got the job done right. 2 years later and still no issues.
Ryan M.Quick response, courteous, and job well done at a very reasonable price. Eddie was friendly and took the time to explain what needed to be repaired. Strongly recommend.
Justin Z.O'Quinn's plumbing service saved my basement! We had a water heater go out on us and started to quickly flood the basement. Eddie from O'Quinn's was able to consult how to drain the tank before the basement flooded and arrived next day with an amazing 50 gallon water heater at a cost 30% lower than any where else I called! No other plumbing company I called gave me the service, time and pricing that O'Quinn's provided. Nothing negative to say. This is the 4th time using them at my home and love them. They fixed a frozen pipe that busted deep under my house as well. 5/5 with amazing SERVICE, pricing and availability! Call Eddie!
I called O'Quinn's in September 2016 to get an estimate to fix a toilet that was leaking on the floor. I believe it was Wes, the owner, who came out to do the estimate on 9/27/16. He could not find the leak, and since it was an old toilet, he recommended we install a new toilet rather than pay to have the old one taken apart to find leak.
Before he left my house, Wes said he wanted to check our water pressure. He went out to the front yard hose bib and checked it (said it was fine) and told me that he ""fixed"" a leak on our hose bib ""for free."" I was not aware of any leak -- it certainly wasn't dribbling water as I always turn the water off when not using the hose.
I told Wes I'd talk to my husband about the toilet and call him back. We decided to go ahead and replace the toilet so I called O'Quinn's the next day and got an answering service. I left a message with the person that we would like to get the new toilet installed as soon as possible. No one called back so I called again a couple of days later and left the same message. Again no one called back. I called a third time and politely told the answering service person that if no one called me back within a day, I would get the toilet from another company. I was not rude to the person taking the message -- just blunt. The next day I got a call back from Wes who told me he had been sick. He said he could come out that Friday and install the toilet. I agreed and he never showed up. I ended up hiring a different company to install the toilet.
The point of my bad review is two-fold: the unprofessional service, and my hose bib. Ever since Wes ""fixed"" my hose bib, I have not been able to turn it off or on. It is stuck in one position and no matter how hard I try, I cannot turn the knob. My husband tried it as well with no luck. I called O'Quinn's two separate times once I discovered this problem, and once again, Wes will not call me back. I finally gave up and decided I would file a complaint with the BBB, which I did. Today I went out to unhook a hose from the hose bib in order to store it for the winter, and it began leaking/spraying water all over the place. I guess Wes left the hose bib in the ON position, which I would never do. Since I can't turn the water off, I quickly screwed the hose back on. I am now forced to call a plumber to fix the hose bib, or possibly install a new one if it can't be fixed. Wes and O'Quinn's not only didn't help me, but will cost me money.
Jen M.O'Quinn's came out almost immediately and fixed the leak without cutting into the drywall like I was told would have to happen. THANK YOU!
We had a toilet that wasn't flushing properly and had tried everything ourselves to get it working. Finally we had enough and called in O'Quinn's Plumbing. They were courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Wes did a great job of fixing the problem and as a bonus gave all kinds of helpful tips to keep the plumbing running smoothly for the rest of our house. I have no hesitation in saying if we need a plumber in the future I would not hesitate to call O'Quinn's again.
Sean M.***O'Quinn's does not stand behind their work and Owner (Wes) will not even call a customer back.** Was in a pinch and needed a hot water heater installed on NYE. Being Irish figured I would give a fellow Irishmen a try, boy was that a mistake. Had water pressure issues since install, called to have them check it out and was told I needed a new mixing valve and that is not something that is covered by warranty. Quoted me an outrageous price to fix their faulty install and I asked them to leave. Had another company in to fix O'Quinn's mess and actually install proper valves/cpvc pipe, as O'Quinns went the lazy route and reused existing. Turns out O'quinn's did not install the mixing valve correctly and it was clogged with rust and other crud and in turn the expansion tank needed to be replaced also. Due to O'Quinn's faulty install job I'm out another couple hundred dollars and in all likelihood have a damaged water heater now. Called to talk with the owner about my experience, not once, not twice, but three times and didn't even receive a return phone call. Learn from my mistake and even comments from other Plumbers. Avoid businesses that don't stand behind their work or even value their customers enough for a return phone call like O'Quinn's.
I thought our garbage disposal was not working properly last night. I decided to call O'Quinns because I used them once before and was impressed with their work ethic and professionalism. I called mid-morning and spoke with Debbie and explained that I thought our disposal needed replacing. Since it was a Friday, I was concerned that we would be without the use of our kitchen sink all weekend. Debbie looked at the schedule and saw that Nick was working a job near our house and she scheduled my appointment for 3:00-5:00 the same day. She also said that Nick would call when he was on his way. Nick finished up his other job and called me at 2:00 to say that he was on his way. I showed him to the kitchen and after about 60 seconds Nick informed me that our disposal was fine but we had a clog in our drain. He ended up having to snake the drain twice to get it cleared. Nick also gave me advise on some simple things I could do to keep it from clogging in the future. And, before he left, he asked if there were any other questions I had or any other plumbing issues that he could take a look at for me. I did ask him about a couple of other jobs and he was able to give me prices. I will absolutely use them again for any future plumbing needs. And I will ask for Nick.
This is a long story, and still not resolved as I am contemplating legal action against O'Quinn's Plumbing at this time. To summarize, I paid them over $3,000 to replace a water heater in my rental condo, and they showed up with a ""senior"" technician and two young new hires that he was training who did all the work as the senior guy looked on and yelled instructions at them. Obviously the new guys didn't do a very good job as there was water visibly leaking from the welded connections that I discovered a week or two later, and the senior technician came out after I called and fixed the leaks after complaining that the trainees did a terrible job. Ironically he was there supposedly to supervise them at the time and check their work. They did not expect any payment to fix the water leaks.
The problem took a much worse turn a few months later, when my tenant reported a gas smell to me as well, and when the gas company came out, they detected significant leaks coming from the closet where the water heater is located and turned off the gas. I called O'Quinn's again and said that now we have a gas leak rather than a water leak, which is far, far more dangerous, plus a tenant that couldn't cook or take showers until it was fixed. They sent out the same technician again, and he fixed the gas leak in the hot water heater closet, but this time the company called me the next day and said that I need to pay them $1,300+ and how would I like to pay it? After I told them that we never discussed any payment and that I only called them to fix a gas leak that they caused (or failed to detect) when replacing my hot water heater, they insisted that I pay and called back a few more times and left messages. When they couldn't reach me, and realized that I was refusing to pay, they dug out the old form authorizing the hot water heater replacement itself (from months prior) and realized that they still had my credit card number, so they just charged my card for around $1,300, which I did not even discover until I reviewed my credit card statement. I believe this is not only an unethical and reprehensible business practice, but is probably illegal as well under State and Federal law. I am trying to get the charge reversed with my credit card company (still in process) and if that does not succeed, I plan to take legal action against O'Quinn's not only for their shoddy work, but also for their unauthorized retention, use and billing of my credit card information.
I wish I had seen the other reviews here on Yelp before hiring this company, and definitely concur with others who warn against their deceitful and unethical business practices.
