Mike S.Cannot recommend this company enough. Shannon (the owner) came to my home a few years ago to fix a busted pipe and I had a good experience with him so called again yesterday when a toilet broke. He easily could have charged me a few hundred dollars to fix it and I wouldn't have blinked, but instead he got on FaceTime with me and walked me through the problem and how I could fix it myself. He then ordered the replacement part for me so all I had to do was pick it up at a warehouse, then walked me through how to install it myself. I'm not really handy but he assured me I could do it and gave me all the knowledge I needed to get it done for a fraction of what he could have charged. I paid literally nothing to him; only cost was the part I needed. Great guy and I will definitely call back for any future plumbing needs.
Brian H.Lies, lies, lies. I've talked to Shannon on the phone for half an hour while he gave me advice that any other plumber would have charged me for doing in person. We had a separate issue where he came to the house with my wife and went above and beyond with service and friendliness. There's a yelp account for O'Neill plumbing that has 200+ reviews that are overwhelmingly positive. Then there are accounts like this with less than 20 reviews that post about him being violent and negligent. This stinks of character assassination and should be deleted immediately, especially since there is a verified account.
Shannon worked me in to his schedule after a rainstorm caused some flooding in our yard/basement. I thought it was a clogged outdoor drain pipe and he quoted me 350 on the phone to cable it out. They got up here on Tuesday (I'd called Thursday), actually a little earlier then expected (he had called to confirm that I was okay with that), and took a look. He told me that he doubted very much if it was the pipe I was looking at as that pipe was the kind that hadn't been used since the early 1900s. He then went on to take a look around the rest of the yard to see what he could see and gave me some advice about keeping a patio drain clear. He brought up using a camera in the drains to check things out but that it'd cost 450 and he couldn't promise me what would come of it so he didn't recommend it. All in all, took 25-30 minutes I'd say, then gave me a number for an excavating company in case I wanted to pursue that and started to leave with no charge (I gave him a few bucks for his time). We also talked dry wells, what we had done with his house, etc. pleasant experience overall.
Shannon (the owner) is aggressive, unpredictable, has an explosive temper, and is dishonest and manipulative. He tries to intimidate customers and takes no accountability for poorly handled interactions. Unprofessional is a gross understatement. It seems many people had similarly frightening (and costly) interactions with him. I wish we had read these reviews before trying to work with him.
I used this company a couple of years ago to replace a sump pump. I should have asked for an estimate so that's my fault but because I didn't he decided to take advantage of that and charged me a ton for it. I also found him to be quite unprofessional and very aggressive. He was downright mean to the person helping him. I would not use him again.
Are there negative stars? This guy might know toilets but he is a sh*tty businessman. Pun intended. He needs to learn how to be a civil human being - his temper is off the charts and he is extremely unprofessional. I could not wait for him to leave. Our toilet clogged and overflowed, causing water damage in another area of the house. We basically were being yelled for a Q-tip in the toilet - which our son had put in 4 days after the toilet overflowed - so clearly not the cause. I explained how the Q-Tip was not the cause since our son put it in the toilet after it overflowed - that's when the hostility came out. He yelled at me and my husband.
He told me to leave him alone when I asked questions and to get out of the way of his partner. I don't know how this guy has a business. Similar to another reviewer below, he told us 'he's about to walk out and not take any money'. I should have let him leave and found another plumber. I can't believe I wasted time to even write about this guy - he's angry, temperamental and aggressive. Call another plumber.
Wow! Beware Shannon's nasty temper and unprofessionalism. We called him on an emergency basis because the toilet was leaking. He then claimed to have fixed the toilet. When we tested it out, it wasn't flushing, which we calmly pointed out to him. He then proceeds to flip out on us and scream in a really aggressive manner, cornering my husband in the bathroom, stating that we had trapped him because we called him for a leaking toilet. Unfortunately we are not toilet experts and do not know exactly why the toilet is leaking. But when we are charged $450 to fix a leaking toilet, we expect the toilet to flush once its fixed. He then (all while screaming at us) states that he is about to walk out without taking any money. We said we just need the toilet fixed. He then threatens to call the police and his attorney and says he will see us in court, in addition to a mouthful of other very nasty things. In between the screaming, he got in a few ""F@#$ yous"" at us and then stormed out. Not sure why he wouldn't just fix the toilet, as we would have happily paid him.
I really don't know what all the negative reviews are about - O'Neill plumbing was very cordial and professional. I called Shannon on Tuesday, since we were going out of town and needed quite a few things fixed ASAP(bathroom sink, bathroom faucet, disposal, etc). Shannon answered during emergency hours and scheduled an appointment immediately. He was very easy to deal with and he wanted to ensure that he had all the information to fix things well and quickly. They came to our place on time and fixed all of the issues in record time - they also fixed some other issues we didn't know about, and did not charge for them! I will definitely use them again in the future. Thank you, Shannon!
Aaron W.Had a drain pipe back up into our furnace room. Shannon came out the next day earlier than expected. Awesome sense of humor during a crappy situation, pun intended. He was open and communicative about the problem and explained how it could happen and what to do in the future if it happened again. I'd recommend them over the bigger companies.
7:10 Monday morning 12-19. Man who answers the phone is a rude, unfriendly guy. I guess if you are an emergency service and work around the clock, poor guy must have been worn out. Could not answer any questions I had. If I could give 0 stars I would.
