We had a bit of a garbage disposal catastrophe and we were so happy about the service that Shannon provided! He came on time and finished quickly. He was also really neat and tidy and cleaned our disgusting sink! AND my favorite...he called that same evening just to make sure everything was great-which of course it was :) highly recommend O'Neill

I'm celebrating 6 years of being a homeowner and there have been many lessons learned in that time. The most important lesson was that I needed a GREAT PLUMBER. O'Neill Plumbing is that GREAT PLUMBER. I knew the second I had water spraying behind the walls from a broken pressure valve in the middle of the night and Shannon O'Neill himself showed up, helped minimize the damage, fixed the valve and even more important, he was pleasant, kind, and professional in the middle of the night. I called several plumbers that night and most didn't answer the phone or were just unfriendly. When water is spraying in between your walls, friendly, kind, affordable and timely (at 3 a.m.) is important. O'Neill provides an excellent return on the investment. High quality, solid work, honest answers, and exceptional trouble-shooting.

Since that first call, O'Neill plumbing has handled all my plumbing needs (and those of most of my friends too). We replaced 4 bathrooms worth of toilets and faucets and new valves and emergency water cut-offs, and countless other things. Had a bad faucet from the manufacturer? O'Neill was back with a new one that afternoon and checked back with me to make sure that the new one wasn't dripping any longer. Hated my shower head? Shannon had a great recommendation and installed it. No drips!

I can't always be home to have work done, and having Shannon and his team do work in my absence is something I've been comfortable with from the start. Shannon and the gentlemen who work for him are professionals who listen, pay attention and treat your home like it is their own. There's never any mess, never anything left to clean up, and always an honest answer to questions. Shannon will not sugar-coat a problem. He will tell you the truth and work with you to find the solution.

There are too many crappy companies involved in the home repair and renovation business, don't even bother looking for other plumbers. Just call O'Neill. You will be glad you did.

I called to get an estimate and Shannon was very rude to me and practically hung up the phone on me. He wouldn't even give me an estimate over the phone and wouldn't even let me ask him any questions. As a potential customer, I felt like I was bothering him. I found out later, that he was the only person in the office but he didn't tell me that until he blew up at me when I was trying to explain my problem and ask him some questions. I told him I was sorry and I didn't realize he was in the office by himself. If I knew, I would have just got off the phone and tried to talk to him when he was able to talk and answer some questions. I asked him if I could just ask him one last question and when I asked him how much he charged on an hourly basis, he said ""if i charged $500, would you hire me to do the job?"". After that he said, the same thing previous reviewer have written, ""he respectfully declined to perform any work I was requesting"".

I thought I would try to get as much information so I wouldn't get ripped off and compare but I guess asking questions are not allowed. I understand he was the only one in the office but he doesn't have to treat people so rudely. I would not recommend this company to anyone since he doesn't seem to need the business especially if he can treat potential customers so rudely. Maybe he needs to hire more people to help him out if he can't handle working in the office by himself. I don't think customers should have to deal with such rudeness when they didn't do anything to deserve being treated like that. If customers can't ask questions, then what are they suppose to do?

Well, Shannon sounded helpful and patient on the phone first, but coming out of nowhere he wanted to charge us 30% more because we asked too many questions. Now, he ""respectfully"" declined to perform any work in the estimate.
I don't want to bluntly post the lowest rate here, because others seem had good services. But we do feel uncomfortable about the rules of the game here. As first-time homeowners who have never dealt with a plumber before, we of course want to know more details of the job and options. What is the point saying ""feel free to contact us if you have any questions"" about the estimate if you just want us to take it or leave it?

Have to agree with Michael and Jole's reviews!

I have been hesitant to write this review simply because I have been so afraid of him. I saw rave reviews on Yelp and decided to have him fix some plumbing issues. He came with two assistants and done a pretty good job resolving issues. All of sudden, he got upset with one of his assistant and completely flipped, ranting and raving. When I tried to calm him down, he turned on me and start to act crazy. He was completely out of control. He had his truck parked in the middle of street, blocking traffic for at least 15 minutes screaming, hollering and cursing profanity.
I was embarrassed to my neighbors who may suspect that I have done something to provoke this man.
All I could do was to hand the check to his assistant and locked the door behind me.
He does pretty good job as a plumber but I am afraid that he is going to hurt someone one of these days.
Before any of you write your reviews, you should think carefully. You wound't feel so good if he hurts someone and find out about it on the news.

Shannon and his crew provided excellent service. I recommend O'Neil plumbing to anyone as Shannon goes above and beyond traditional customer service. Shannon explains every step and why such steps are necessary. He's friendly and extremely professional which comes as a breath of fresh air when dealing with others in the profession.

Shannon and crew are considerate of clients' time and follow up to ensure the project is completed. In short I will rely on Shannon and crew for all my plumbing needs.

I was very happy at first; Shannon came quickly, installed new toilet and told me about some adjustments I could make myself. Expensive but seemed worth it.

I had an unrelated plumbing problem later and called O'Neill. At the time of the appointment they called and said he had an emergency and couldn't make it. Fine - emergencies should take priority. The first I could be rescheduled was a week out! I wasn't pleased but we set it up; I really liked Shannon the first time and was willing to wait a week. The day of my reschedule they called again and said he had an emergency and couldn't come again.

However, this reschedule - now the 2nd one - was going to have to wait another week. I would have thought the customer getting bumped would take priority when being rescheduled. A repeat customer, at that. I could understand having to wait maybe a day or two, not 2 whole weeks (on top of the time between my first call and first appointment.)

Now it's down the road and the toilet he installed was leaking. For some reason I was willing to give Shannon another chance. I called not once but twice asking him to call me to either walk me through replacing a gasket (or whatever) or we could schedule a repair. To this day there has been NO return call from O'Neill.

So I got another plumber to fix the toilet Shannon installed (much less expensive, by the way) and he showed me how the first one had been installed wrong (he had installed the supply line without the washer - amazing it hadn't leaked more.)

This is the first negative review I have ever submitted. However, O'Neill has proven to be such a disappointment I need to warn other potential customers. I was very pleased at first - but down the road, the follow-up is awful. BEWARE! Don't fall for the initial flash and dash!

I got a sales pitch for purchasing a faucet from O'Neill rather than using my store-bought faucet, with something about O'Neill not warranting if I had problems with leaking if we used the store-bought one. When I asked clarification, he became agitated and said that if I didn't want him to do the work, he would leave. We could not come to any understanding, after leaving my house, he or one of his assistants tore up the paperwork and threw it on the ground. I will say that O'Neill called afterwards and did not charge us anything for the visit.

Shannon is exceptional.

I called O'Neill Plumbing around 9 this morning and spoke to Megan. I explained to her that I just wanted an estimate for a leaky shower faucet. She asked if I had pictures (which i did) and gave me an email address to send them to. I received a call around noon from Shannon saying that he could come out that afternoon between 3:30-4:30 and that he would give me a call 1/2 hour prior. I was shocked! He then called me back around 1 and said that he was able to come out earlier if that was ok with me. I was flabergasted. He arrived at 2:00 and did a fantastic job. Not only did he fix my leaking shower faucet he also unclogged a sink drain for me. He is very pleasant to deal with and answered all of my questions. On top of that where can you find a plumber that offers same day service without the emergency charge?

I highly recommend Shannon and his team for any plumbing needs you may have. I know I will be calling him back the next time I need a plumber.

Let me start with the good--like everyone else says, Shannon was easy to reach and fast to respond.

Now...on to the rest. I called them because a tenant had a toilet with a broken handle and a backed up drain. They quoted me $500 ($150 for the clog, and $350 for the handle problem), which I said seemed high. They 1) said that was worst case if they had to replace everything, and 2) immediately offered me a 20% property manager discount. As I knew I only needed a $5 handle, I agreed as the clog price seemed reasonable and I was confident I wouldn't need ""worst case"".

Upon arrival they insisted that it would be $400 ($500 less the 20% discount). I still only needed the handle, but they insisted they had to replace everything so I wouldn't ""have a problem a month later with something else and try to blame them."" Nothing like having my integrity (or intelligence?) questioned by the plumber before we even begin. They threatened to walk off the job if I didn't agree to it immediately. I was pissed, but I had a tenant with one (unusable) toilet, and she has a hard time getting time off work, so I agreed. Big mistake...

Several weeks later, she calls saying that there is water leaking onto the floor. We call O'Neill back, and they come out promptly again. Now I am thinking I am glad I paid extra so everything is under warranty, right? Wrong--the problem is a crack in the tank, which requires a new toilet, which they say they charge $800 to do. Are you kidding me--$800 for a toilet?

Now I know enough about toilets to know that tanks don't just crack. I keep pressing Shannon on where the crack is, to which is tries to be vague and say on the bottom side of the tank. He says he feels bad and offers to reduce the price to $500. I keep pressing on the location of the crack--is it through the tank's bolt mounts? He finally admits yes, which if you know anything about toilets 99% of the time means the bolts were over-tightened. He of course denies it, and continues to give me the runaround. I am really pissed, because the only reason they've over-tightened the bolts is because they've insisted I replace parts that didn't need replacing...for hundreds of dollars. And now he is going to ""do me a favor"" by charging me another $500 to fix the problem they made.

After that we had a heated exchange. I told him if he wasn't going to make right the problem he created, I would share my story via the web, which I am. He threatened to take me to court for spreading untruths. I have been an officer in the Air Force for almost 20 years now...I'll gladly stand by my word.

I won't share the rest of the story, as I was not a party to it. I have encouraged my tenant to share her experience with, and opinion of, Shannon and his conduct toward her. I won't repeat things I did not witness firsthand, but hope she takes the time to post it as I suggested she do.

Bottom line--can I literally prove he caused the tank to crack? Of course not, as he repeated over and over. But as I said, if you read this, and if you know anything about toilets, and you still think this is where you want to take your business, good luck to you.
