Alison R.On 5/7/20 I noticed that my basement drain had backed up significantly (the main drain to my home). I panicked and called a friend who had a similar issue and she referred me to one hour rooter. Ray came out and immediately told me the only solution for my issue would be a hydrojet of the main drain. He also told me I needed to get a bio-clean treatment. At the time the analysis seemed a little off, but I was told the roots would not be able to be removed otherwise. I paid $1839.00. Later that day someone returned and did the hydro flush in about 30 minutes. This service came with a 2 year warranty on the clean, and a 14 day warranty on the bio-clean treatment. On 2/08/21 I noticed there was standing water in my basement after doing several loads of laundy. I initially called another company to clean the drain, and then realized that the work was under warranty. On I contacted One Hour Rooter and was able to schedule an appointment for 02/12/21. A new technician arrived and opened the drain. He said that it was clear that it has not been fully cleaned back in May, and that the hydroflush has left many remaining root balls I showed him the invoice for the initial work and he was stunned that I had been charged as much as I had been, and said that the bio-clean treatment was an additional charge, but not worthwhile. Today 2/16, I had a separate contractor out to do a video of my line to see if there was a more pervasive issue and to check the work from 2/12. (I paid $175). There was still one large root ball in my line which I will need to have cleaned in a few weeks/months. I also asked him about the hydroflsuh and he explained that it is almost totally ineffective on root balls and a way companies upsell customers. I feel I was taken advantage of by a predatory sales person. I absolutely do not trust One Hour Rooter to do additional work on my home.
These people are complete crooks. Do NOT use them under any circumstances. I have never been so scammed in my entire life.
DO NOT HIRE ONE HOUR ROOTER! I hired One Hour Rooter to install a drain tile/sump pump in my basement July 2019. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. I was lied to by Ray and Justin which I have fully documented. They literally put in a drain tile in my basement floor without adding any weep holes in the foundation to guide the water to the drain tile. They just dug a trench and stuck a tile in my floor which in no way address my problem-which is water building up in my block foundation. I had water come up in my floor in Oct 2019. After weeks of Ray telling me he was coming over to take a look and then feeding me excuses when he never showed, I threatened legal action. That finally got Justin (the owner) to my house in Dec 2019 to look at their mistakes in which he lied to me directly to my face and tried to justify their work. We did agree on a solution during that visit and they finally came out a second time to install tubes in my foundation which was suppose to guide the water to the tile. Once summer came I found their solution still didn't solve the problem and wished I was more persistent on having them install weep mats (which is the correct way). I'm still considering my options since I have a lot of their lies documented but beware they are not to be trusted. I was a new homeowner who knew nothing about drain tiles but after my experience with them, I feel very confident I can install a drain tile better than they ever could.
Was a little nervous about the negative reviews but I could not be happier with how things went!! Everyone was super professional, knowledgeable, practice, and helpful.
They came out to hydro flush the main line and was supposed to bio flush the shower drain at the cost of $350.00 also. That was not done. Contacted them and was told by the salesman that I would receive credit. A month later and have not received the credit and haven't gotten a call back from the salesman. Nice customer service! I would not recommend these people to anyone and will let all I know not to call them for any service.
Scammers! You've got a backed up sewer and need it fixed quick? Do not call these guys, overcharge for work that you don't need and you'll end up calling John's to do the job you needed done months ago.
I got ripped off so you don't have to!
Mark L.Stay away from this very poor excuse for a company. They consistently lie and charge 10 times what they quote you. Im sure they will all get whats coming to them but make sure you don't give them any money or use them for any service at all.
This company is nothing more than a scam!
Sorry I have to give them one star to be able to rate them.
They sure don't deserve even one star
Clogged Drain.
They came out with a camera and quoted $2K to jet wash lines out to the streets. they did half the job and left. 2 days later they came back out and quoted over the phone $5K more to fix a pipe in the floor. they said they had to bust up the floor 12' or more to replace T- fitting that needed replacement in the basement.
When the techs arrived, they jet washed the line they skipped last time and cleared the clog. Told me the good news was that the floor didn't need to be busted up and recommended a sewer lining instead for $12.5K I told them to get out and that they overcharged me for work not accomplished the first day and he said, ""yeah but we did it today"". I said, all you have done is what I paid you for the first day. The salesman Ray, said they could refund what they overcharged and recharge me on the second job. Again i told them to leave. They left and then charged my credit card for the $5K for work that they didn't do. I have disputed the charges and now will engage a lawyer to go after them for fraudulent practices. I never signed a second work order or authorized additional work and certainly did not authorize them to put further charges on my card. I am smarter than this, but now have met some very unreputable people working for a crappy company.
Roto Rooter is a good place to call and or your local plumber. I have had nothing nut the best experiences with them. Do not use in any circumstance the Maple Grove company as I did. They lie and up sell based on mis-information and BS.
What a scam this company is. They should be shut down. Do not call this company with your problems because they will even make your problems seem bigger than they already are. I called them asking them how much it would cost to fix my drain and they told me it would be $140 to snake my drain out and get it back to working again. When the plumber came out he told me it would cost $570 instead because of course it also had to be jet washed. This was bullshit! I'm glad that I didn't pay but instead told the plumber that i was going to shop around. I called Roto Rooter the next day and they were able to fix my drain and only had charged me only half of what these scumbags were asking for. Save your money and go with a company with good reviews. Oh, it's funny because when the plumber came out he also stuck his fingers in my drain and indicated that it needed to be pressure washed. Lol! They actually should put those fingers up their butts and dig the BS out of their cracks. Roto Rooter may be expensive but it was worth going to them. This company should be reported to the BBC. Don't waste with this company.
This company is a scam. I had a basement floor drain plugged. The plumber banged on the drain plug with a screwdriver, then told me I had a trap that had failed closed, and proceeded to write up a repair order for almost $1,000, for half the price he would replace the other floor drain even though it was working. By the way, the drain plus screws out, the screwdriver trick was bogus. I said no, then he called me back later and offered to come back and put a chemical in the drain which he assured me would take care of the problem, even though he declined to do that as well as snake the drain out previously. When he came back, he put something into the drain, said to wait till morning. He then asked for another payment even though he should have done this previously. Of course I did not pay him. He then said not to say anything to the office as it was on his own time. I did call the manager the next day. The following day someone named Mark called me and said they would return my payment, without me even telling him what it was all about. Later, Ben Theis, who said he was the manager, called me and stated that he knew Mark had called me, and that I would get my payment returned. I briefly stated that their employee first tried to scam me, then tried to scam the company by coming back on his own time with their chemicals, and wanted additional payment. The actions by the two managers confirmed that this is a company scam as well as the individual plumber's scam. YOU ARE CRAZY IF YOU USE THIS COMPANY.
