Company Overview

As a top-tier HVAC service, Oliver Heating & Cooling presents a broad spectrum of home services. Since its inception in 1971, Oliver has earned the trust of countless homeowners. Our services include air conditioning installation and repair, heating system installation and repair, plumbing solutions, electrical work, duct cleaning, insulation, home renovations, and much more.

Starting from a simple prayer, Oliver has evolved into one of the top HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service providers in the Delaware Valley. The foundation of Oliver is built on hard work, determination, and commitment.

Joe Oliver was among 10,000 employees laid off from Boeing following the Vietnam War. With his wife Beverly and six young sons counting on him, Joe grappled with how to provide for his family.

After praying for direction, a member of Joe's prayer group proposed the idea of starting an HVAC business. Though he had no prior experience in the industry, Joe decided to establish Oliver Heating & Cooling in 1971.

Through hard work, night classes, and long hours, the business flourished. Throughout the years, Oliver has evolved from a solo endeavor into a company of 200 associates delivering heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and remodeling services to the communities of PA, DE, and NJ.

I am SO SICK AND TIRED of getting jerked around by these criminals!! WE PAY AND PAY for our ""maintenance program"" and yet are continually charged for things that are somehow not included. We have paid over $10,000 to this company and have been a customer for over 13 years. Repeated phone calls get the runaround. We cannot speak to a human being to resolve this situation. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!! This would be a ZERO STAR REVIEW IF I COULD.

They came to replace parts, not due to lack of heat. After replacing those expensive parts another key part all of sudden doesn't work. We now do not have heat on the coldest day of the year. No one has called back.

ok..this morning was 11yr old Trane heater, installed by Oliver stopped working...Called Oliver and they sent a repair guy (who was very nice) out later today, I was told about the $89.00 fee. Technician finds out I have a bad Igniter... His price $646.00 to install this unit, which took all but 3 minutes. I then google search the part after he installs and leaves ...the same exact part# on grainger.com for $145.39 and on a less know website: supplyhouse.com for #60.76. WTF!!! So basic, I could of installed it... I just sent Oliver a email asking why the price difference Let's see what they come back with?????? and if positive I will adjust these comments to more positive.

***UPDATE***
Oliver called me back, pretty much stated tooo bad...$646.00 for a $60.00 part and for it to be installed in 15minutes is a fair price. Cant believe..I've been using Oliver for over 15 years. Be aware...this aint the same company from years ago!!! #Greed

Oliver ripped off my 90 year old father when he had a no heat service call in March 2022.They charged him 1400 dollars to replace a control board that sells for between 400 -500 dollar range. Other contractors confirmed to me that the normal rate for this repair was approximately 1000 dollars in our area.
We will never use this contractor again.

I needed a new hot water heater & it was not a small task My technician/installer George was efficient & he did it by himself besides being extremely helpful (I'm still in shock he did it alone) he was very kind & answered every question I had. I highly recommend using Oliver for all your heating & cooling needs Again a shout out to George for a job well done

They're nothing but salesmen. Don't use them. Don't even call them to come and assess the problem because they'll charge you $89 ONLY TO ARRIVE at your residence. Then, they'll tack on $111 minimum in analysis fees. So you'll be paying at least $200 for them to tell you there's a problem and then you'll waste 15 minutes listening to their sales pitch. They tried to explain to us that repairing our HVAC would cost more than $9000. Replacing our system will cost an additional $4-5k so we'd be looking at about $14-15k. We called another company shortly after and they quoted us $8500. I can't say this enough - don't use this garbage of a company. They only want to take your money.

Red Alert here: Do not use Oliver Heating and cooling
They lied to me, misdiagnosed my problem, sabotaged my HVAC system and then try to sell me a new system
Use a local small Mom and Pop HVAC contractor who really cares
Here is the story: My HVAC WAS running just not pumping a lot cool air. My house was comfortable not cold enough for me however. Plus it would struggle to keep up when the temp got over 90. So I called Oliver Plumbing and Heating to come out to take a look. They had a $ 59.95 special.
The day before they came out I noticed water on my floor in the basement. I thought it was the condenser pump not working maybe it was clogged. I cleaned up the water
The next day, the day Oliver was supposed to come, I noticed the same thing. They found the condenser coil partially frozen.
which 99 times out of 100 means you are low on refrigerant
The technician from Oliver said it would be an addtional upcharge to melt the condenser ( all he did is run the heater to melt the ice)
After the ice was gone he began is diagnosis on the AC unit
After about 20 minutes he came into my house
He said and I quote "" I have some very bad news, your system which holds 10lbs of refrigerant is down about 6 pounds and to get it right it needs 6 pounds of refrigerant. At a cost of over a
$ 1,000.00. Then he said that I had a leak in the system and to figure out where that is it would be an addtional $ 875.00
Then he said that 9 times out of 10 the leak is in you condenser coil and that was over $ 5,000.00 . But he said your system is old
( Its only 12 years old and they last 18) and I can have a sales guy come out in two hours to give you a price. I thought to my self
wow is that convienient. Where was sitting in the Wawa parking lot down the road?? I said no to everything,
About 20 minutes later I called a client of mine who is an HVAC contractor. I should have called him first. He happened to be in my area. He came out and found THE WIRING ON MY COMPRESSOR CONTROLLER HAD BEEN TAMPERED WITH AND HE COULD NOT GET MY COMPRESSOR TO START. Remember the compressor was working ( not great ) before Oliver was there.
He fixed the wiring and and added ONE POUND NOT SIX POUNDS of refrigerant to my system. I have been very cool since.
This all happened Friday July 8th. I got the supervisor from Oliver on the line on Friday. I told him the story and he said he would get back to me. He called me today around 10. I missed his call and try to call him six times today. He has not called me back so that i why I am writing this review.
Bottom line these guys don't want to fix your system. They just want to sell you a new one, that I did not need
Stick with the local pros you'll be better off
Oliver heating and cooling is try to scam you they tried to scam me

One of your employees lives on the same street as my father. while staying there to take care of him, your employee left a note on my car telling me to not park there any more. it is a public street parking spot. the employee has a very long driveway that was empty and could park in it, but doesn't.
I'm submitting this to the Aston police as well. this employee is clearly not very stable.

A/C just stopped working. They said for $89.00 to come out to the house. Of course, in 5 minutes they are saying the A/C is 28 years fired and just to get the salesman for a news AC. Then comes me out a $250 for us, but willing to use the $250 out of the new AC. The new salesman comes out the next day. Had known my father that they are expensive. Salesman a little pissed after I had known him we in the morning had another HVAC second opinion. Oliver seems to tell me that on June 1st they are getting a new 13-18% increase. After the BS knows us for $21,000. Asking how the new HVAC just turned up $7,000 and how their maintenance is more. Really 300% is that much better? How profit the salesman taking $10,000 for him? Never for them assume. Now they are worst than Horizon.

Absolute scam of a company. Stay away from them at all costs unless you want to pay thousands of dollars in repair costs that should cost only hundreds. I inherited an Oliver heating system from the previous owners of a property I purchased in Ridley Park, PA. The heating system broke down even though the previous owners had installed it only a few years prior. Oliver had password protected the system so any other HVAC tech would be unable to access it; they then charged exorbitant fees just to assess the problem, which was a broken motor. They charged $2,500 to replace the motor, which is probably about 6-7x what it should cost. While replacing the motor, they also determined that a circulator pump was broken. That cost $2,000 to replace, which is also about 6-7x what it should cost. I've never felt like I've been more ripped off by a company in my life. They're absolute crooks and would not recommend them to anyone.
