I feel blessed to have found James and Encinitas Plumbing and Drain! We have an older house with less than stellar plumbing and James has helped us tremendously with our sewer line. He hydrojetted our line and since then we have not had a single back up! He is a genuine and friendly person, has great prices, and shared his knowledge and expertise with us. I could not recommend him any more highly, should get 6 stars!

Great service experience. Emailed late on Monday night, had a reasonable quote in my inbox by Tuesday at 8:30am and Dylan was there by lunch time and had it fixed in less than 45 minutes. My shower drain was really clogged. Standing water and all, tried to fix it myself but to no avail. Super grateful to not have water pooling up at my ankles each morning now. My drain works better than it did when I first moved in, so this was obviously long overdue.

i want to give james at encinitas plumbing the highest highest rating possible! this guy's a gem! i smelled gas in my house and called SDGE; they came out and immediately shut the gas off, saying i had a leak. i was out of town, and my secretary scrambled to find plumbers. the first two gave me outrageiously high bids, James' bid was half the price. it was still really high, given that all the pipes needed to be replaced. Long story short, this guy was always available, incredibly honest and knowledgeable, an exceptionally good human being. Every question i had, he thoroughly answered and it proved correct. He and his assistant did a great job, complete clean-up, everything top-knotch. James is a throw back to the old-school tradesmen who are completely committed to their customers, do exceptional work at really reasonable prices. Use this guy's services, he's incredible!

My shower valve broke open. I was in a rush to get it fixed. They were able to come out within a couple hours unlike any other company I called. They also had the best price! Workers were professional, honest, and quick. I would most definitely recommend them to my family friends.

Great plumbing service, highly recommended. James gave us a quote to install a new water heater and install a new kitchen faucet unit based on a phone and text conversation, when the day arrived he texted early asking if he could come over early. Of course we said yes, and he arrived, did the work with great skill and workmanship, and did not charge more than quoted. We couldn't be happier with the work, and will use him again if we have another problem. Highly recommended.

My husband and I got a bid to have a plumbing issue corrected, an almost $2,000 job. The water line to our washing machine was crossed in a twin home with the neighbor. We got a fair bid and really found James to be knowledgeable and we liked him. He could do the work that week, and it was a significant job. We couldn't do it that week so we scheduled for a later time two weeks in advance. My husband and I both stayed home that day from work for the appointment and James never showed up or returned repeated phone calls. His message machine in fact said it was no longer in service. I finally reached him a month or so later and he promised to call me to schedule the next day. I left a message telling him an easier way to do the job, thats why he called back I think. He never called back to schedule the next day as promised. Not sure why, but if James didn't want to do the job, why wouldn't he just state that to begin with? Very disappointed in this business.

They did a great job but when it became time to pay their bill I couldn't find them. Really, I left multiple messages but no calls were returned. Then they called me just after a year later saying payment was due. This was on my mom's property, we multiple repairs done at the same time and pulled the money out of one of her accounts to pay for it all. Now making this payment presents a difficulty because the property is in a trust. So good work but bad book keeping.

Ok, so I should of done this along time ago, but better late than never. In my home, I started getting this really weird vibration noise/feeling in the walls randomly and couldn't figure it out to save my life. I finally noticed that it happens when the water is on or flush the toilets etc. It sounded horrible, quite literally like my house was going to tumble down. I was dead broke at the time and didn't know what to do. A co worker of mine referred me to James. Reluctantly I called, embarrassed to ask how much for him to come diagnosis my situation because I didn't think I could afford it and didn't want to waste his time.

But NO! James was so SWEET and KIND and talked to me for the longest time. Asking me questions and trouble shooting it over the phone with me. Turns out I had recently replaced the valve in one of my toilets, he said it's probably a toilet valve. Well, I am handy enough to do that and they are only about 10 bucks each. James suggested I replace all 3 because it was the most cost effective trouble shooting, process of elimination I could do. So, I took his advise and replaced all 3 and I'll be damned, but that fixed the problem.

Here is this man, this is how he makes a living and supports his family and he spent his time and knowledge to help me out when he really didn't have too.

Now, I have a different house and I am doing some remodeling and I am so happy to have called him once again and this time I am grateful I have the means to pay him !! :)

Best plumber/ human being I could ask for. The only thing I can say in response to the negative stars on here is sometimes people like James, big hearted and honest, over book because they honestly want to TRY to help everyone and human mistakes are made. People forget and people are late. I wish we all remembered to give people the benefit of the doubt. You do not know what the other person is facing that day and KARMA.

they came out on time and found the problem in a second for a leaking gas pipe. It took them just a few minutes and didnt even want to charge me so I gave them a twenty and I was really happy with them. Great guys and great attitude like working with your neighbor

This is a great plumbing business, James gave me a real appointment time, not a range, quoted me a price on the initial phone call, arrived on time, was super friendly and fixed my blocked drain very efficiently. I will definitely call him again with any plumbing issues.
