So I'll be up front and say I'm not the smartest homeowner. One of the bathrooms had a clogged sink and my wife asked next door neighbors if they had a recommendation. After reading a few glowing recommendations, we called Obsta. They were prompt in their response and I believe sent someone over the next day. Without spending more than 2 mins on the diagnosis, the plumber said it's the A/C draining into the same pipe as the bathroom. We knew about the algae build up since this happened a couple of years ago and thought this is normal. The plumber said he was going to pour down some industrial strength sulfuric acid that only he can get. Sure enough it cleared the clog. Total charge for this effort: $175.

Turns out algae build up is common and you are supposed to pour Clorox down the t-pipe connector (if you have one) that drains the A/C.

Here's why I think they deserve only 2 stars. They were prompt and they fixed the problem.

A better solution would have been to spend a few mins in the attic and recommend installing a t-pipe connector on the drain line from the A/C so we can do a better job at maintenance. Or maybe both A/C's shouldnt drain into the same pipe and lets reroute unit A somewhere else. Or anything, but let's pour good old industrial strength sulfuric acid down the pipes.

Had a great experience with this company. The owner came out himself and was very knowledgeable on what issues there could be with buying our new home. I believe it was a fair cost for identifying potential issues with plumbing under the house. I recommend using this company as they are small and really care about your issues.

I've used Obsta Plumbing for over 4 years. They've done plumbing work at commercial properties I manage and they have done plumbing work at my home, including re-piping my entire house. They show up on time, the work area is immaculate when they leave and their prices are competitive. All of their employees, including the answering service/ receptionist is very polite, respectful and helpful. Paul, the owner, supervises every job and if there is a change in the work due to an unforeseen issue, he notifies me and explains everything before proceeding. I have referred this company to other property managers and they won't use anyone else. They're the best plumbing company I have ever worked with and I won't use anyone else.

I had the hose to a kitchen sink replaced by Obsta plumbing in July of this year. The day after Thanksgiving the junction between the hose and the faucet came loose and flooded the entire underside of the sink and the kitchen floor. I called Obsta and was told it would $660 just for a service call. I questioned if this was possibly a mistake and was put on hold for over 10 minutes. I was then told that indeed a service call would be $660. I asked to speak with someone else to confirm this (especially since it was a problem related to previous work by Obsta). I was told someone would call me back. No one ever returned the call.

I wish I could give a better recommendation but I did not have a good experience with them.
I did not deal with the owner but with his partner, and another tech with him. They were not very polite and came in nonchalantly with their boots on while it was raining outside. There just wasn't a caring good vibe.
On top of that we still don't really understand what they did under our kitchen sink. There are hoses now everywhere and attachments and it's difficult to sort things out under there. We're calling another plumbing to hopefully get it straight.

Locally owned, family business. So far, they've replaced my old water heater with a tankless. Communication is excellent, reasonably priced is an understatement. Top-notch customer service. Really happy I found them and will definitely use them for a couple of other smaller plumbing projects to my home. Keep up the great work!

Obsta was at my home in June of this year -,2016. An apprentice-I assume- did the work under the supervision of another plumber.. I had reported 2 faucet fixtures that were leaking and issues with the drain stoppers not holding water.I was told the kitchen faucet needed to be replaced, but went ahead and let them install new turn off valves in the kitchen due to their age and condition. Later I purchased a new faucet on my own..They replaced a flapper in a bathroom that is seldom used- charged $85 for that. Bathroom sink cold water faucet was leaking. They needed to replace it with a cartridge-something I was not familiar with.They did not have the cartridge in their truck so they left and returned with 2 new cartridges and installed them. The cost of the cartridges was excessive. I could have purchased 2 new fixtures for what I was charged for those 2 parts, and I feel that I should have been advised of that before they left to purchase the correct part. They adjusted the two drain stoppers-one wasn't attached at all the the second was too low. That took 5 minutes, but unfortunately they didn't ask me to try them and check the speed of drainage, so now both are on the slowest setting possible and take forever to drain, so made the problem even worse. That evening I noticed that the cold water faucet that had a new cartridge was still leaking, so I called and they returned the next day and tightened it-no charge.The pricing for this amount of work,I felt was extremely high, so I will not use them again or recommend them.

After a "no show" from a different company, I called Obsta Plumbing. I spoke with Dorinda over the phone and scheduled a toilet and pedestal sink install for the following morning. The gentlemen called to let me know they were on their way, arrived promptly, and got to work. They were both friendly and knowledgeable. They didn't waste any time and they completed the install properly. When they left, they didn't leave any sort of mess. I would most definitely use Obsta again!
