Total disappointment. Needed a water heater installed and they were sent via Lowe's. Came out promptly to do the estimate and after that it was impossible to get them to my house. Bob did the estimate and the scheduling and even though I texted him frequently it took over 2 weeks and I lived in the place for 11 days with no hot water. They were late finally showing up and Mike ( son of a Bob) pleasant, seemed to know what he was doing but now I don't think so. Water heater installed but he tells me it still has a leak and he will be out later to fix it. They have never been back and I finally got my senior citizen butt under the house and it is leaking HOT WATER!!!!!!

The absolute worst service I have ever experienced. They were supposed to arrive at 11AM to install an office dishwasher. We called back at 2PM when they still hadn't shown. They said they were on their way. Three hours later, and still no show. After continuous calls going straight to voicemail, we ended up having to cancel the installation and file a complaint with Sears. These individuals comprise the most inefficient, rude and irresponsible company I have ever had the displeasure of hiring. Save yourself and do not use Oakes.

Is there an option for no stars? Very rude service on multiple occasions and then did not show up for multiple appointments. Overcharged for their service and tricked up into the most expensive installation. Trust me, take your money somewhere else.

We were directed to Oakes by our home warranty provider. The first call we waited all day and they were a no-show. They said they came to the house, but we were home all day. They did come the next day after asking for directions.

Today we were scheduled at 9:30am. At 10:30 we called and were told the technician was running late but someone else would be here by noon. At 1:00pm we called again, explained our issue, and were told ""That sucks, I'll head over right now!"" It is 7:45pm, we are done with Oakes. Do not use them if you need reliable service.

If I could give a 0, I would as well.

I can't believe the negative reviews for Oakes Plumbing on here. I have used them multiple times for different jobs, and they have always done an amazing job, under budget and very professionally. Mike Oakes has been the plumber that I have spoken to the most, and he is very knowledgeable and honest. One time I had asked about fixing my boiler and instead of trying to up-sell me to purchase a new unit, he helped me assess the current unit and it ended up being no charge at all. They do great work, and I will always use them in the future.

Called last week for an appointment on Monday or Tuesday. No one showed. I called Tuesday to check and they said they had me down for Wednesday between 1 and 3. A man showed up Wednesday to ""scout"" the job. He left at 1:15 saying he would be ""right back"". No one came. Called at 2:30 and left message. Called twice after 3 and left two messages. Called Thursday morning and left message. No response to any of them. I took a day off to wait around all afternoon for these people and did not even receive the courtesy of a return call. It's like they're trying to go out of business.

If I could give 0 I would. Rude and unprofessional. Didn't complete the job and never called back once. After several attempts I gave up. Beware, they do Sears installs and it was a horrible experience.

Im in the trades and have never expreienced such unprofessionalism and lack of courtesy. If you have a plumbing need... go ANYWHERE else.

This group works for Loews and had to come back to our house twice becaise they couldnt even install a garbage disposal unit properly. Maybe they benefit financially from this?

They will be happy to promote themselves to you while workong for Loews for future independent business... But dont even go there. You and your needs arent their priority.

This business is absolutely the worst business I have ever dealt with, period. My 1-star rating is too generous --- I wish there was a negative-star rating.
Two months ago, my hot-water mixer (also called hot-water tempering valve) was very slowly leaking. I called this ""business"". Bob came over and gave me an estimate (he said the mixer parts would cost about $70, plus his labor of $75). The next day he showed up late for his appointment, and told me the mixer parts would cost me $114 instead of $70. He threatened to leave if I did not agree to his ""new"" parts price. I should have let him leave. But at the time I just wanted to get it over with, so I reluctantly agreed. Then after his replacement of the mixer, I found that my domestic hot water was no longer hot (it was warm, but not hot, even when I dialed the new mixer to the hottest extreme). I called Bob a few times about the problem. In two of the times, he promised to come over to take a look and we made appointments. But in both times, he never showed up for his appointments! The last time I called him, before I could ask him why he did not show up, he hanged up on me after realizing I called him!
How could a business operate like this? Not honoring his cost estimates, taking no responsibility for his repairs, not showing up for his appointments, rude to customers, .... Mr. Bob Oakes has set a bar for a bad business which will be hard to surpass!

He came over to fix a leak pipe that attached to the boiler in my basement. Told us a part needed to be replaced. And it would cost about $70. He did not have the part with him. So he would come back the next day. The next Morning he came, told us the part would be $114. We were not happy, but we agreed. The same day he fixed the leaking problem, we noticed another problem with the boiler. So we called him, described the problem, and asked him to come back to take a look. He agreed and told us he would come by in a few hours. He did not show up. We called him again. He told us he would come the next day. He did not show up again. When we called him the third time. His attitude suddenly changed. He insisted that it was not his problem and hung up.
In summary, the owner of this business is dishonest and extremely rude. I would never use their service again. Certainly would not recommend it to anyone.
