We recently moved into a house, and after only two weeks of living there the basement partially flooder.
We had a company come and install a new sewer line and they found that the previous work in 2011 from Dave at NuPipe was dishonest, and the reason for all of our problems.
Instead of doing what they said they did on the quote, they shoved a 3 inch pipe into a 4 inch pipe instead of completely replacing the pipes, which was quoted for 25 feet of new PVC.
Complete dishonest work and after $15k of sewer repairs and work, I can say with certainty don't ever use nupipe!!!!
Dishonest, absolutely DO NOT stand by their work. They are masters at dodging calls. They suck!! Cost me an additional $18k after they supposedly put in a good, working sewer line. Yes, David the owner comes off as a great, personable guy but don't be fooled. They will rob you!!
Seth F.I was in pipe hell until we hired Nu Pipe. Dave stands behind his work like nobody in any business I've ever encountered. My job was basically Dave's nightmare scenario: transition under the house, a very invasive tree, and previous shoddy work. He's had to be out a few times since we did the main slip because of issues that came up. This last time it turned out it wasn't anything to do with his work, but he still cleaned me out, and refused any more pay. When he tells you it's done, it's his responsibility. My admiration and gratitude for this level of service is boundless.
The word is out so they get too busy to accept more business, but if you're lucky enough to get Nu Pipe, your problem is solved, period.
Dishonesty is this companies policy! Using NUPIPE to do your work is only putting your pocket book and home in danger. Do not hire this company to do any work for you. They lie, cheat and steal their way through life and then deny it when confronted,. The worst kinds of people you could do business with.
Michael K.Very polite and courteous and got right to the job at hand unfortunately for me needed more work and at the time I did not have the money to proceed but I would highly recommend this company to anybody I know that would need Plumbing work
In March, we had our basement flood due to a collapsed sewer line and would need to have it replaced/repaired.
The business owner, Dave, all around seemed like a nice genuine guy. He gave us confidence early on that he could complete the job and save us lots of hassle and frustration. We knew this was going to be a rough job and wanted it done quickly and correctly.
For the first week or two upon initial contact, we had a fair amount of trouble getting our schedules in sync. But knowing that a trench-less repair would save us a boatload of money (and we really couldn't afford a $15,000 repair), we stuck it out. Dave didn't show up on the day he was scheduled to give us an estimate. I took off work to be home. Given our situation, we gave them a another chance anyways and rescheduled. When Dave took a look at our pipes, he said he could do a trench-less repair no problem. We decided it was in our best interest to hire them. We paid 50% up front on March 26, 2018.
On the day Nu Pipe was scheduled to start work, nobody showed up. It took a few tries before they did come to our house to get started. When they finally did, they couldn't finish due to not having the proper supplies. We had to wait another 3+ weeks for them to get the needed supplies to complete our pipe repair.
During these missed appointments and mishaps, Nu Pipe didn't make it a priority to communicate to us when they couldn't make it; instead they waited for me to call them and ask why they weren't at our house.
Once they had a chance to come back out with the needed supplies, Nu Pipe was unable to do a trenchless repair due to further deterioration of the pipe, as they claim. They offered to excavate the pipe for us at no additional charge, and I thought maybe this was a sign our luck was turning around. This was back in the middle of May.
We tried to get our home warranty company involved, thinking we could prevent Nu Pipe from having to take a loss to complete work on our property. The warranty company insisted upon subcontracting their own partners, but ultimately decided they were not obligated to cover the repairs since our basement was no longer flooded or experiencing permanent blockage. Rather than wait until our home flooded again or wait for things to get worse, we decided we wanted to still move forward with the repair. Contractors the warranty company sent confirmed that there was still standing water in our pipes and that we would want to move quickly, regardless of whether the warranty company would pay for the repairs. So, in late July, I reached out to David from Nu Pipe and informed him we would need his services after all.
With the existing agreement still in effect, David said he would service our pipe and do an excavation repair. He said he would be drafting an agreement with the apartment complex for permission to work on their property. Then things went silent again. No returned calls and no communication. We got BBB involved on September 1.
We finally heard back on September 11 and were informed they would start work again on September 17 and 18. They showed up as expected, but did not do the work correctly. They back filled their dig with the excavated material against city code and purposely skipped mandatory inspections. David claimed to the apartment property manager that subcontractors they hired were responsible for the poor work quality, but they were sighted on site in a Nu Pipe truck. The property manager was pretty sure it was David himself doing the work.
Nu Pipe came out later in the week to re-do the dig under supervision from the city inspector, but never returned to repair the pavement they were supposed to repair. We later found out they did the same poor quality work on our property and were in violation of city code there as well. We didn't know about it because they never got inspections on that either. The city co texted Nu Pipe and claimed that they would need to come back to redo the work. However, that was the last I heard from Nu Pipe.
At this point, it's impossible to reach them by phone. Leaving messages does no good -- they rarely return calls. The property manager behind us ended up hiring his own people to do the work , which we are being billed for. He reported that they destroyed some of his irrigation system due to negligence, despite being asked to take precautionary measures.
If Nu Pipe didn't want to do the job, they could've said no at any point and we would've looked elsewhere. We would've worked with them if needed to renegotiate terms. But instead, David overpromised and underdelivered.
Nu Pipe can make up any excuses and blame shift all they want, but for the same out of pocket expense, I could've hired a different company and had this job done months ago with no question of quality. This business is poorly run and the owner is dishonest. Do not support this business.
Mark C.I had an appointment set up with Dave the owner ( we met on site) to camera a line. The day of the job he was a no show.... no return txt messages or phone calls. It's now a week later and neither Amy in the office ( who never answers the phone ) or Dave have returned a dozen calls and multiple txt messages.
I have called Nu pipe for waterproofing help, sewer lining, and jetting. The girl in the office is always a pleasure to speak with, and they have done a great job for me, and our company.
Ok repairs are complete, that is the good news, the estimate was the same as the final bill, (reason for the second star) but the scope of work was significantly greater than anticipated. They came out to estimate ran a camera and locator and guaranteed me they would not have to dig through my foundation to repair the line, well that was not the case, they ended up having to remove some blocks from my foundation wall and tunnel under my home, I will be cleaning the sand for months (and was the main reason I wanted to go with trenchless sewer repair), they also did not reset my toilet correctly and incorrectly installed the water feed to the toilet, luckily I am rather mechanically inclined and was able to repair the water feed and reset the toilet myself after their second attempt. The project was supposed to be done in three days, with mishaps it took a week and three days.
Horrible experience. I am purchasing houses to flip. I find a local plumber with hopes of establishing a good relationship to trust with these homes. I had no problem with the heating and cooling, roofers, electrician....can't say the same for plumber. Amy was nice, in the beginning. Received my quote, paid them half of the estimate and received a start date...and I waited. I believe it was 2 weeks beyond the date given that I had to call back and remind Amy they had the money but I had nothing to show for it, not to mention it set my carpenter back 4 weeks. Apparently, she took offense to this reminder. Dave arrived that weekend. He called when he was finished and asked for payment then. I figured since it was no problem to make me wait and cost me money, I'd let them wait to get final payment. On that following Monday, I received a voicemail from Amy at 4pm stating she was going to charge my credit card used for the down payment if she didn't hear from me by 5pm (unauthorized charge). I called her and advised her not to charge that card. I received another voicemail that Friday from Amy telling me that I needed to pay or they would be putting a lien on my house and ""that would make it difficult to sell. See you in court."" I do not recommend this company AT ALL which maybe too bad for Dave. If he had some one to organize his day, speak nicely to customers, he may do better. Amy-you may find a more fitting job away from the public. Seems like you have an issue with being friendly.
