My heater broke down 11/09 23. So you know we were cold! Rick Piaseckii responded the same day and explained the problem with the heater, even taking pictures so we would understand completely. Did you know that high altitude effects your heaters performance?

Several years ago I received a mailed solicitation from Northstar and was very pleased with the service I received. Based on that success, I again received a mailed solicitation to my cabin in Big Bear Lake. This time, however, the technician was only interested in selling me an expensive new system. I declined the upsell and instead had someone else perform a couple minor repairs and the heater is working great.
I'm just concerned as a senior that you must get second opinion before spending precious thousands unnecessarily...

My wall heater triggered a CO2 alarm, prompting me to contact Bear Valley Heating for a $99 service call. I later discovered that Bear Valley Heating is handled by NorthStar. They inspected the heater via my tenant schedule and advised me a replacement for $5000. I was in a work meeting when they called me. I wanted to understand the explanation a bit more and research on my own before spending a $5000 replacement quote. I asked for a short message of the diagnosis and breakdown of the cost. Unfortunately, they hung up the call. I called back technician without any response. I called the reception and I never get call back to get detail. Still waiting for 4+days to get call back. Waste of time and money.

I wish I could give these guys 10 stars! I have used these guys twice now and both times they knocked it out of the park. Each time I had a different tech but both of them were very knowledgeable and great at there job! If you ever have a plumbing, heating or A/C problem call Northstar! They will treat you right!

5-stars say a lot .. easy to communicate with - value/affordable - we did both water-heater and furnace at the same time .. guys w ere smart and easy to deal with .. we live up in the mountains - so they dealt with the altitude issues as well .. would use them again .. CaptDave- retired 23 yr mountain local (ps- some mgt staff live up here, so they understand our special issues ) ;)

We had new flooring installed and the installers removed our relatively new gas wall heater. We asked them not to reconnect it, preferring instead to have an expert do it. In spite of Northstar's spotty Yelp reviews, I called them because they install the brand of wall heater we have. But they refused the job. It's hard enough to find qualified people on the mountain, even worse when they can't be bothered to take on jobs they don't want.

Pleasant, professional, and effective employees, both phone staff and plumbers. Plus, if and when there is a concern, the manager follows through to assure that everything is complete. He went above and beyond! We will definitely use Northstar again in the future

We had a minor issue with our kitchen faucet. We called our ""go to"" plumbers, etc. on a Friday hoping against hope that we could get someone here first thing in the morning. Tamara was so kind and accommodating. She did just that!
Every person that we have ever dealt with at Northstar has been just extraordinary. You don't expect that kind of commitment to service anymore and these guys constantly deliver. Adolfo arrived...warm and friendly (and a dog lover) and had the problem fixed post haste. One just can't ask for anything more than that.
