We had a minor issue with our kitchen faucet. We called our ""go to"" plumbers, etc. on a Friday hoping against hope that we could get someone here first thing in the morning. Tamara was so kind and accommodating. She did just that!
Every person that we have ever dealt with at Northstar has been just extraordinary. You don't expect that kind of commitment to service anymore and these guys constantly deliver. Adolfo arrived...warm and friendly (and a dog lover) and had the problem fixed post haste. One just can't ask for anything more than that.

A quick shout out to Drew and the team from Northstar who diagnosed a gas leak and completed a re-piping at our property in Big Bear this week. The communication was exceptional with pictures of progress along the way. The team cared for the property, laying down protective coverings and were efficient. We'll sleep better at night knowing we're not micro-inhaling gas. Thanks Drew!

Service Requested (8-31-2023) - fast, efficient, on time, and included an estimate for repairs or replacement of heating and air conditioning unit - by Dave, who is personable, thoughtful, and kind. Service was requested again one week later (9-7-2023) - Again, on time as promised, efficient, and honest regarding another estimate for another issue. Rick is professionally qualified, especially for mountain residences needing tuning, repairing, or replacing air conditioning, heating, and water heater services, with knowledge of homes located at different elevation levels. My cash was poorly invested in a flatland company with no knowledge and having to replace a system that should have lasted 30 years. I am a 16-year resident of Bear Valley and appreciate knowing and learning the hard way that Northstar is currently the only company with proven excellence of service, honesty, and integrity in their employees.

North Star technician diagnosed my AC issue wrong. I was quoted 2100-2800 for a new capacitor(which he called a hard start kit). He also told me my fan motor needed replacement. When asked what the voltage to the fan was he refused to answer. He did his best to make it sound like my system was not salvageable and that our furnace also needed a replacement because of discoloration on my motherboard. He basically told me he won't do the 2800 dollar repair because r22 is obsolete now and told me I need to package both new units together. The bill was $22,000. Fortunately I am a certified AC contractor with 10 years of experience and could could could smell his BS. Obe heating and air fixed our unit with a new dual capacitor and contactor for $263. This company has zero values or integrity. Disgusting business that will take advantage of single mothers and old people that do not know any better.

Our hot-water heater broke late at night and I wasn't sure what to do. My wife found the listing for Northstar and, based on the consistently positive reviews, I decided to call them the next morning. They were out that afternoon to check on the heater and were able to replace it the next day. This is was not an easy job either, as the water heater is in a crawl space under the house, but the service technician Drew and his assistant were able to finish it that day, as promised. For what it's worth, Drew was a very nice, extremely professional guy who was very clear, upfront, and honest about everything that he was doing or recommended. Replacing an old, broken water heater on short notice isn't cheap, so I wasn't expecting that, but the responsiveness and professionalism of this company impressed me. Also, the communication and regular updates I received from the dispatcher at Northstar about arrival and service times were a very pleasant surprise and, again, very welcome. I definitely recommend this company.

Rick came by the house to check out or HVAC system and let us know why it was leaking and not cooling as well as it should... He gave us a very thorough diagnosis & explained thing's extremely well. He took his time and did not rush us into a decision.

Similar to others on this platform, we had a horrible experience with Northstar. They basically have indpendent contractors within the mountain area that work to represent them. And it's terribly organized. When we hired them, they sent a plumber that said he could get it done within a week. That plumber didn't even show up to the job site on the scheduled date. It was a different plumber that was lost on what to do, so I had to contact the Northstar multiple times regarding the entire situation. Long story short, our project ended up being delayed for 3 months. Excuses were being made that they couldn't complete our job on time, and they kept on rescheudling. In the end, they finally had to work done, but I would NEVER hire these people again. Not only that, they rip people off with price gouging, knowing its difficult to hire licensed plumbers in the mountains.
