After I had ordered a new toilet, toilet seat, wax ring kit, and Tacogenie hot water recirculating pump with Spencer's approval, he never returned phone call to install. I also had a problem with slow drain in kitchen sink. I found another plumber to do all. Slow kitchen drain was resolved--the pee trap was too far from the main sewer line connection causing insufficient air as water drained out of sink. It was solved by other plumber. I guess Spencer was not interested, too bad!!! Would not recommend.

Spencer has been my plumber for years. He is so excellent, I almost hate to share him with you. But I will because he's very honest , who is a wizard at his craft.

The first time I ever called him, I wanted to get an estimate for an installation of a gas pipe in my fireplace, thus turning my wood-burning into gas optional -- which is way less messy to run.

I'd gotten estimates from 2 other plumbing companies. They wanted to charge me $1200 and $1500, respectively.
Spencer came and checked my fireplace. As it turned out -- he showed me I already HAD a gas pipe in my fireplace. He took out a wire brush, cleaned out the holes in the pipe -- turned it on -- and voila! Gas. And he only charged me $55.00.

Over the years, he's been at my home to install a clean-out, unclog drains from the roof, re-did the plumbing for my bathroom remodel, replaced the garbage disposal -- etc. etc.. He told me from the start, if you call him, and he cant't do what you need (which has never happened) he would refer to someone who can. Now that's class.

We called 3 plumbers and by the time one of them called us back, Spencer was already at our house getting the job done. We're in Marin, so I originally thought he would be the least likely to help us on a Friday afternoon. He was at our house within the hour and the valves were replaced and the area cleaned up within two. Spencer also tightened our sink faucet and fixed our garbage disposal. Now we can do laundry again!

We've used Northstar twice now, for two different problems in the house. Spencer was responsive and on time, and fixed the problems quickly and efficiently. I referred him to my brother, who lives in an Eichler, and he knew just what to do there too. I highly recommend Northstar Plumbing.
