Eric C.We hired Northside to replace the heat pump and air handler in our house in Hudson FL. The old 40 year old air handler up in the attic was evidently set in the attic before the roof went on! the installers , Tony and Caleb were great! They had to cut the old air handler in 3 sections to get it out of that attic. Also had to take apart and reassemble the new Air handler in the attic. All this on a unusually hot February day! They stayed till 8pm to get the job done, we greatly appreciated it because my wife and I had plans the next day and glad they stayed and got the job done in one day. The following two days we ran the AC hard and it worked great! ( mainly because the central AC has not worked in the house for two years and we were soaking it up!) They were very fair with the price considering the amount of work they had to do. They were very conscientious of the local codes and installed everything by the book. This is something that you need to take into account when you hire a profession company to work in your home, even though they may have not been the cheapest, as the saying goes, """"you get what you pay for"""" is very true when you hire a professional company like this. You can hire a less expensive company that works out of a old S10 who will overlook things like the permit, (good luck when it comes time to sell the house) , they will not do the installation properly, no one will answer the phone when the unit breaks in august after the 70th 90 degree day of the year. Keep all this in mind when hiring people to work for you, Especially AC companies in Florida of all places where AC is almost as critical as oxygen. I would highly recommend Northside for all of your HVAC needs.
No show - no call - do not waste your time with this company. Poor customer service at every step. This company was supposed to install a water heater on Saturday morning. My husband called them on Friday to confirm the appt and was told they would be out between 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We waited all morning for them to arrive and they did not show. When my husband called the plumber, he said the wrong model was sent and that a manager had called to notify us that the install would not be happening. That's a lie! There was no call to his phone from this company. Had they had the decency to notify us, we would have understood. Their plumber said he would re-order but it would be another 10 days. Today, Monday, 2/12/18, my husband called to cancel their service. They've proven their undependable. Their receptionist asked if he wanted to speak with a manager and he said he did. After holding for 8 minutes with no manager answering the call, he told the receptionist he was done. We looked at their reviews and thought they provided good customer service but our experience shows that to be inaccurate. It's worth it to pay more for a company that honors their commitment and communicates with their clients.
I am very satisfied with Northside Services, in particular, Brian, who came to service my HVAC unit. He was efficient, professional, courteous and personable. He took the time to explain the workings of the unit and the maintenance I should be doing, which I greatly appreciated. When I asked about measures to cut down on the dust in my house, Brian was very knowledgeable and presented me with various options and did not try to push me or """"upsell"""" me in any way. He is an asset to the company.
Sandra M.Northside air conditioning has just put a new unit in our home. From the very beginning when Mike came out to check our old unit he couldn't have been more professional and nice the two young men that came yesterday to put in our new unit Amauri and Austin were extremely professional nice and courteous from the moment they walked until the moment they left. I've had plenty of work done in my lifetime in my home and have never had such a great experience from the beginning to the end. Northside I'm not surprised you have so many stars. I will certainly recommend you to all my friends thank you for making my house more comfortable
Heather K.I contacted 3-4 AC Repair companies after 9pm on a weekday, and Northside was the first to return my call. Thank you very much for coming out quickly to my home to diagnose my AC issue, quickly estimate a replacement cost, and scheduling services timely. I met about 5 different employees, and they were all nice hardworking gentlemen. We had our entire HVAC system replaced and Aeroseal installed. It was definitely a process over 2 separate visits, but I feel our house has better airflow now and we are sleeping better. :) Unfortunately they did have to reschedule my 2nd visit and did not give me adequate notice, so I'll admit that was frustrating for me personally. But in the end, knowing I trust their services, I'd hire them again. We also got fantastic interest free financing (I assume you have to qualify), which is THE BEST way to purchase a new HVAC system! Thanks guys!
Sabrina W.Great company for plumbing and air conditioning! We use them several times and have been more than pleased.
I had a recirculating line on my hot water heater spring a nice leak on a Friday evening. Given some recent experiences with another company on air conditioner repairs (6 trips), I was expecting another hassle, but Northside immediately sent out a seasoned plumber who replaced the faulty section of pipe. Quick resolution on Friday @ 10:30pm at a reasonable price seems like the perfect service call. Turns out the point of failure was a """"shark bite"""" connector (press-on fitting some guys use to save labor over soldered joints) used by another outfit. The Northside guy took some pictures and the failed piece for his plumbers guild, where apparently the shark bite controversy rages. I appreciate anyone who's that committed to staying on top of their profession. Hopefully I won't need to call anyone, but if I do, Northside would be my go-to.
Rick B.The side of their truck says """"Guided by Christian Principles"""". It should really say """"Guided by No Principles"""". Slogans are just words, but it is deeds that count. Less than one year after Northside installed a new $6,000 A/C system, roofers installing a new roof drove a nail through the copper lines in the attic. The lines were not to code and actually touching the underside of the roof sheathing. Northside came out to make repair and said they were not responsible because they had reused the old lines when they installed the new unit; what a surprise! They then charged $781 for one hour work to repair. Northside said the roofers should taken more care. They are the ones that should have taken more care to make sure the lines to which they were attaching the new equipment was to code. When asked how they could charge over $500 per hour labor they said it was a flat rate no matter how long they are there. Yeah flat out shameful. You can bet if the repair took longer than the flat rate there would be an up-charge. Slogans are cheap. Character is priceless.
Dave N.GREAT COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO BUY NEW AND GET USED! Company sold new furnace then misrepresented 8 year old used furnace as the new furnace. I (the customer) had to inspect unit to determine scam in progress. This company attempted to deceive me and ultimately they would have scammed me. Luckily I was home, knew enough to look, and knew enough to ask questions. The Scary part is, had I had my wife or my parents opening the door for this company, I would have been scammed! I called this company to come out and they did on 12/17/2013 and was told by James Thornsberry I needed a $375 furnace part and $100 charge for them coming out... I then asked for the price of a new unit instead and was told $1950 (I said No thanks to that)... then the price was suddenly $1400 with 0% financing. I said ok, signed the financing paperwork, and scheduled for the next day. I was repeatedly told by James this would be a new unit, but it would only have a 5 year warranty due to it not being connected to other new units. The """"new"""" unit I was getting arrived the following day on 12/18/2013 and that is when my consumer confidence and trust in the company began to plummet... The unit was not in box, was not the same manufacturer as quoted (carrier instead of bryant), had some rust on it and even had tape residue from a previous install on it... I immediately questioned this and asked where my furnace was... The guys quickly got in their truck and made calls without me being able to hear.. I was then called by my sales guy(james). He tried to assure me that it was just a """"training"""" unit and that it was indeed new... At that point I asked the tech how old and he told me 2012... I then asked them to open it up and it was in fact from August of 2005... I decided I did not want a """"new"""" 8-year old used until and asked for what I paid for... A new Unit... I spoke with my sales person, the GM(Steve i think), and the owner... They ultimately told me they would not install a new unit for that price and instead tried to now sell me the used unit now for $1200 or a real new unit for $1750. While talking to THE OWNER, I told him that I did not have the budget for the higher price and would not buy a used. He told me the actual price of a new until was $800-1100, yet refused to install one for less than $1750... he tried several times assured me that $1750 was a great price.. When I held to my price and reminded him that I had an agreement signed, and said I would post reviews... Ultimately this christian owner tried to bring GOD into the equation and use GOD to persuade me not to post negative reviews on them. He then hung up on me. Additionally this company repeatedly advised me that the permit was part of the reason for the cost, yet I have been told that it would have been against code to install the until they were installing because it would have instead required a full system upgrade to be code compliant. I have been told by companies that they doubt this company pulled a permit and it was never their intention to. Also, the main board (most expensive part) appears to not be the problem... It is believed to be a wiring harness... Boy am I glad I am not doing business with this company!
These guys are the worst in the business. Came out quoting how honest they are and in the end, switched up wires on my unit to make it seem broken. I had very reputable A/C Company come out for a second opinion and he verified the wires were misplaced. The Service Manager Tito lied to misadvising that his techs do no inspect wires on a maintenance call. I saw the service tech take off the hard start capacitor that wires were switched up on while Northside was at my house. Along with that, the hard start capacitor was the piece that had the wires switch. The second company I had come out told me they hear about Northside doing this to a lot of people and hate that they give the industry a bad rep. The service tech wouldn't even look me in the eye after the call, and snatched my check up off the table like the thieves they are. Don't trust these guys, they're slimy no good cheaters.
