Northern Services are a combination of services: plumbing, electrical, etc. I accessed the A/c - electrical services and found them knowledgeable, reliable, and reasonably prized. I also used plumbing to repair an outside faucet. I had opened up the outside wall and repaired a couple years ago. I replaced the main connection with a sharkbite fitting to make future repairs easier. When the line froze again, I could not bend to work on it, so contacted the plumbing services. What I discovered was an estimate of $1200 to repair it. I wanted it done so agreed. It was replaced, however 90% of time was given to driving 35 miles to get parts and an extended lunch. They finished, but left closing up the outside wall to me. I unequivocally do not endorse the use of their plumbing services. The fact that the charge was so far out of line and apparent involvement of the host company, I encourage all potential user to go somewhere else. Even if someone is high priced, their price will not be as high as Northern Services out of Olivia, MN. The overall cost had been reduced because I paid for a service contract that gave me some deductible off my cost.

told us we needed a new unit and another company came out and fixed our unit with just a part. also quoted us for a new unit that was double the price of other local companies. would never use them again. also showed up 3 days after we called with no air conditioning.

Our boiler system had failed. The zone valve and (maybe) the pump had failed. The techs first diagnosis was the classic ""The main board needs to be replaced"" (which controls heating for zones). After talking with him and having him test another (currently working) circuit using the other relay, it semi operated correctly (identifying the real problem.

The prices for parts were outrageous. The zone valve could have cost ~$75, meanwhile was charged ~450, and the recirculator pump could have cost ~$95, meanwhile I was charged ~$570. The services I also paid seemed normal however. There was also a pressure tank needed, but I decided to replace that myself after being quoted ~$500 to replace that the next day.

The tech was friendly and courteous.

This was when it was cold last year, so I'm guessing they were just taking advantage of the situation. I thought about whether I should write a review, and decided not to, until recently working with another company and being charge more reasonable prices.

This crew replaced a furnace, air conditioning, put in a new water heater, osmosis system, bathroom and kitchen plumbing as well as putting in a new kitchen and laundry room. They also wired in the electrical for a remodel on a basement. They managed the project with kindness and professionalism. They are truly a full service company.
The workers were respectful and took great care to protect the surrounding area by cleaning up the work space as the project progressed. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to get a project done. No job is too big or too small; they are great at what they do! Know that they will get the job done the right way, the first time. Top rating!!! Job well done!!
