Company Overview

Since 2002, we have been the go-to remodeling company for the northside of Chicago.

Our expertise lies in bathroom renovations, tub installations, tile setting, and walk-in showers, along with kitchen, bedroom, and basement transformations. We are the licensed general contractors ready to bring your vision to life!

While kitchens and bathrooms are our specialties, we also offer drywall and painting services, water damage repairs, basement renovations, plumbing, electrical work, trim, and tile installations (like backsplashes and fireplace tiling). Our services extend throughout Chicago and many surrounding suburbs on the northside.

Effective communication is essential. We prefer to overcommunicate rather than risk undercommunication. I give clients a checklist and free detailed estimates, including my number and my lead team's contacts, to ensure we are always synchronized during your project!

Our full-time employees are ready to offer prompt, skilled, and courteous service for every job we handle. The cornerstone of our business is customer satisfaction. We are honored to have won the Angi customer super service award for seven years running! Our ratings reflect our commitment, with 5 stars on Angi, Home Advisor, Google, and nearly 5 stars on Yelp!

I started my own business in 2002 after spending 13 years in the commercial and residential construction industry. I continue to work with many clients who helped me get started and have built a network of like-minded craftsmen (HVAC, flooring specialists, etc.) whom I trust for larger projects.

While we expand gradually, we emphasize quality workmanship and being on-site to guarantee efficiency and quality control. I chose the name Northside to emphasize our local focus (and dodge traffic!), enabling us to serve the North side of Chicago effectively.

Born in 1968, I have a diverse heritage of half Japanese and half Welsh/English/Irish/French descent. I completed my education at Von Steuben, attended Truman and Metro State College in Denver, and resided in Colorado from 1991 to 1999. From 1999 to 2002, I was employed by Earthwood Builders. I have two sisters and one brother (who is still living). At present, I call the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago home.

Jeremy's crew was very professional. They showed up on time every day and worked diligently. I appreciated that they asked questions to make sure they did the job exactly the way we wanted, and they also answered any questions I had along the way. Jeremy came to our house to see what we wanted done and provide an estimate. He also came with the crew the first day to introduce us and ensure we were all on the same page regarding what we wanted done. He also checked in daily to monitor progress. In addition, he responded quickly to any inquiries we had throughout the process. We highly recommend Jeremy and his crew and will use them again for future projects.

Jeremy came by took pictures of the area of concern sent me an estimate and NEVER returned any calls to finalize the project I guess that he's too busy to make money next time just say it

Working with Jeremy and his crew was great. The process was easy, and Jeremy remained fluid and flexible with scheduling in the midst of the pandemic. Despite my wife and I working from home during the construction, it caused no issues. Gerry and Javier, the two men working on the project, were very thoughtful in their approach and kept the construction as contained as possible.

I appreciated that North Side Renovations was interested in taking on my relatively small project. It involved turning a large closet into a smaller closet, and a hall closet facing the opposite way. And surprisingly, despite it being several days and several thousand dollars, it was hard to find contractors willing to take on a project that wasn't larger than a full kitchen or bath. Luckily I found Northside, and the quality was exactly as expected. I'd use them again for projects large or small.

Had a great experience getting our basement drywall taped mudded and primed. Did a great job and found and fixed a few spots we had worked on beforehand

We've used Jeremy and team for 3 projects now, in two different homes. He is great, responsive and responsible, and tells you what is necessary and what is not. If something is not 100% to your satisfaction, he makes sure that it is. We really appreciate working with him and learning from his expertise. As projects come up with our fixer upper, he is the first one on our call list. Highly recommended.

Wow. Seems Jeremy was upset about my review! I didn't add ANYTHING to the bid when he arrived or after. I gave him a printed out sheet that was given to everyone who was bidding the same exact full rehab project. I stand fully behind what I said. This person was totally uninterested, and I was promised a bid in a few days and didn't get it at all, let alone a follow up in a reasonable time. Yes, I was ready to hire and by the time he sent me some paltry email I had already hired someone else. Big deal! If you are too busy to get a new customer, then don't waste MY time and come to my home and pretend you want a job you don't want or are too busy to take on. Most people, including me, want the job to start NOW. If your crew is too small then either hire more people or don't complain, or decline the appointment that you are not taking jobs. I advised in the yelp questions that it was a rehab of a large property.

If other people had a good experience, then I am very happy for them and this company. I can only say that the vibe I got during the brief appointment was that he was not interested, and that he could not handle it, and he seemed nervous and entirely overwhelmed. Perhaps that was my interpretation but in any event, he NEVER gave me a bid.

ANY contractor who is hungry and wants business needs to get on it, give the bid and do what they have to do. If you are too busy to give bids then that really means he should decline the appointment, but don't blame the prospective customer. Not only that, if I had been in ANY way impressed, perhaps I would have waited. Perhaps I would have followed up many times and asked again and again for the bid.

We are very pleased with recent work done by Jeremy and his team. We needed and access door to our crawl space that was enclosed by remodelers. They worked efficiently to creat a door and also insulated the space. They finished the door nicely and all was done before we knew it! We had Jeremy assist our condo association in rebuilding common space walls after a flood and in both cases he was very responsive and took great care in making sure we got what we needed. Thank you Jeremy!

We really liked the work that North Side Renovations completed for us and I'd recommend them for future jobs.

We had two different water damage issues:

Due to condensation from a central pipe in our condo, the drywall in the ceiling of our kitchen started to peel away. We originally wanted to install a drip pan to preclude this from happening in the future. However, there wasn't enough room in the ceiling once the damaged areas were removed so the team pivoted and sprayed insulation on the piping, installed new insulation and drywall, and painted the ceiling. It looks as good as new!

In a separate room, we had our external water spigot burst the first time we turned it on after winter. In addition to replacing the insulation/drywall and painting, the team also replaced the damaged piping and spigot.

For both issues, the team did as good a job as they could of keeping covering our furniture with plastic sheeting or taping plastic sheeting to the walls so that the drywall dust didn't spread everywhere.

Overall, the team was in-and-out of our place in 2 days and both Jeremy and the 2-person team completing the work gave me updates as the work progressed or decisions had to be made. The work was completed as per the estimate, which was significantly lower than two other companies I got estimated from.

Used Jeremy and the team for a master bathroom remodel. The price was fair and the team was totally professional. They did a great job with all aspects of the job, including demolition, painting, tiling, plumbing, and design. I really liked that they were able to see potential issues ahead of time and provide feedback on our design ideas.

The job took about two weeks total, which is about what they were estimating. The daily on-site team were not only hard workers, but were happy to answer our questions along the way.

Overall, I would highly recommend reaching out if you have a remodeling job.

We have been extremely happy with the work that Jeremy and his crew have done for us over the years. Painting, tracking down leaks and general repairs around the house -- Jeremy and his team can do it all. Very professional and easy to work with.
