They came in the middle of the night to help with a backed up patio drain that was flooding water into our family room which was great, they did not fix anything which was not so great. It was the middle of the night and the young man, Dylan, was tired and it had stopped raining so we let him go home and he assured us that someone would come back the next day to further investigate and hopefully fix the problem. No one ever came back. When I called the company to ask for someone to come back and complete the job they said they didn't think they could fix it and if they did come back they would charge me again. I said no thanks.

This review is overdue and probably better that way. We have had a home in Glenview in our family since the 50's. In the 80's it began to flood occasionally and drain pipe and a double pit backyard sump pump system was installed. We maintained this system and it worked well till the floods of 2013 (I think) at which time that system no longer worked. Fast forward 3 flooding events and a backyard like a lake for days after any good rain. I believe in the fall of 2018 we called for an estimate. The offer was 1 gravity drain in the back yard and a rework of the basement sump system. You bet your bottom we asked questions up and down. How was that going to work when 2 pumps in the back and one in the basement couldn't keep up? In the end we believed them and went for it. The system has worked great ever since. Our backyard is dry within hours even after heavy rain. We've been happy and continue to call them for other plumbing needs.

But let's talk about these last few weeks. This constant soaking and heavy rains would have been disastrous in the past. It still wasn't pretty and the system was put to the biggest test. The results. The night we had the heaviest storms overnight is the first time I've ever seen that drain covered in water and the backyard begin to flood. It rained hard for such a long time and wouldn't let up and the water was slowly inching towards the house. Thankfully the really heavy stuff finally let up after an hour and the drain was able to catch up. After 30 minutes of moderate rain the backyard was walkable again and when we got up in the morning it was dry. A few days later it was happening again and we had really no drying out time in between these events. This time the drain kept up, the yard flooded a bit but within 30 minutes of light rain it was all dry again. Sorry this is so verbose, but I dint know how else to say USE THESE GUYS! What they've done for us is beyond anything we ever thought possible and although the work was extensive and expensive it is worth every penny we spent. Thank you!!

Quick and easy. They responded quickly through the Yelp app, the set up an appointment and even arrived early.
They were clean and kind.
They did leave our gate open, and did not announce their arrival and just went straight into our back yard, but the service was provided during COVID, so perhaps they are limiting interaction for everyone's safety. I bit more communication around this would have been helpful for me. But, I would certainly have them back. They did good work and in a timely manner.

Our basement had started to back up with sewage and after calling North Coast, they had someone out in a day. Jesus and Johny were the employees who serviced the issue and were completely professional and courteous while working on the job. They were able to fix the issue in 2 hours and spent to time to explain what the issues were. Really appreciate their work and time and would use them again.

In February we had sewer line back-up due to a broken connection in our line to the city service. Another highly regarded plumber on the North Shore rodded the line, found the damage, and quoted a very high fee to repair and install a new clean plus inspect for ""likely"" further trenching and line replacement. Then Eric Rohde from North Coast came up, did a very thorough inspection and explained the situation very professionally. He provided a quote for repair including deep trenching for many $thousands less than the other firm, and assured me that further line work was in fact ""unlikely"" to be needed. Almost immediately, Nicole, Eric and team proceeded to pull the permit, schedule J.U.L.I.E. marking, and set up the job. The whole workday went as planned, and Eric coordinated closely with the Village of Deerfield inspector so he could observe the work and look at the video of the remaining line to the city service (all clear). Eric and his team could not have been more professional. They were at all times friendly, respectful and answered all our questions (dumb and otherwise!). They left the job site very tidy looking. We will certainly have Eric and his team back to handle any other drainage and sewer tasks. Highly recommended!

Our sewer line that runs from the house to the main city line was clogged with tree roots and essentially non-functional, causing sewer back ups into the house. We obtained multiple quotes and professional opinions on how the repair should be handled. North Coast had the most reasonable approach and cost for the work that needed to be done. Eric came to assess the situation and quote the price for the project during the time that he said he would be here (within 24 hours of our initial call). He obtained approval from the city we live in within a day of our signing the contract to approve the work and was here bright and early the next day with his crew to complete the job. The crew was efficient, professional, and worked hard until the job was finished. They even cleaned up a mess on our back patio caused by our clean out having overflowed (this was not even in the area that the repair was being done). This was all done during the coronavirus crisis. I applaud North Shore for their superior customer service and highly recommend them.

We hired NCSD for a sewer inspection on a house we're buying. The seller asked us to move the inspection up a day, and NCSD was very accommodating when I made the last-minute request. Also, they charged less than half of what we had paid for a sewer inspection from another company a few years ago. Eric was polite, professional and competent. We were not able to get into the house at the time because of a frozen lockbox, but he accessed the sewer and provided his report. He also looked over our inspection report to let us know his thoughts on the house's overall plumbing for no extra charge. We will be using NCSD again!
