This review for Gage was long overdue. We planned to have our home fitted with a softener. Several people came to our home with ridiculous estimates and all the fancy sales pitches. Gage was very upfront, honest and explained all the details about the installation work. Once we talked to him we felt very comfortable to work with Gage. We also were looking for an RO system and Gage had the system with him so it worked perfect for us.

The work was done on time. When Gage came for the inspection he saw that our home was already set for the softener installation and did not need any extra copper piping. He was very honest to knock off this cost from the installation quote. Perfect installation was done for both our softener and RO system.

Great guy to work with. Very highly recommended.

P.S. Sometimes you may call him but he may not pick up the phone. Do not worry just leave a message and he will get back to you for sure. He is a one man army. :)

I called gage told him what the situation was with my soft water system & he was honest and straight with me.i got my system today it looks awesome & i researched it before I bought it.better then what I had before & easy to use.good service,good price,& honest which is hard to find these days.

Long overdue in posting this review for North Cal Water, but still wanted to comment on the excellent service we received from Gage. He sold us a water softener system and installed it back in February (2014), and we are pleased with the product he sold us, as well as the job he did. We replaced an old non-functioning unit from Sears. Before coming by, Gage explained the water softener units he sells over the phone, and we did some online research regarding the product he suggested. He was prompt in his response to our phone calls, and was able to come by to look at our setup fairly quickly, as he was already in the general area when he received a follow up call from us. Installation occurred as scheduled, and went off without a hitch.

As another reviewer noted, Gage was also kind enough to come back twice the following month, to disconnect, move out, move back in and reconnect the 2 units in the garage, so that we could have the floor epoxied. He was a pleasure to do business with, and it was obvious in talking to him that he knew his trade and his products well, and was sincere about providing great customer service. We contacted North Cal Water based on other good Yelp reviews, and are happy that we did.

So happy we finally took the plunge and got a water softener. We've lived in Livermore for two years now and I've never experienced hard water like this. When the drought hit and the water company said the water would be getting even harder because they would be fluctuating to well water on occasion, I knew I had to do something to stop all the spots and the terribly dry skin.

I called Gage and he came out and gave me a really reasonable estimate. We scheduled the work and he arrived on time and installed the unit. Before we had a chance to enjoy the soft water, we decided to have our garage floors and walls finished and Gage was kind enough to come back out and uninstall the unit free of charge while the other work was completed. He even came back after the garage was finished and reinstalled the softener free of charge again.

It's been up and running now for a few weeks and seriously, it is heaven. We didn't do the RO, but might in the future. For now, I'm just enjoying no more water spots on any of my dishes, no more hard water stains on my glass shower doors and the corroding of all my fixtures is finally over.

Thank you, Gage. Would highly recommend a nice guy who does really good work at an affordable price.

Gage installed water softener for us first and few months later we also hired him to install RO unit for our kitchen. Admirable work ethic, clean installation, on time, courteous, reasonable price for service. He fixed our broken garbage disposal unit even though it's not part of his regular work. I would hire him again and recommend to anyone.

Solid 5 star company - no monkey business.

I was referred to North Cal Water by my friend who had his crappy Home Depot cheapo water softener replaced by NCW.

Gage stopped by my house, took a quick look, recommended a solution and returned about a week later to do the install of a water softening system.

It turned out great - a very clean installation AND no more hard water spots all over our sinks/shower, etc.

North Cal Water was very reasonably priced, performed a high-quality installation and all without a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

Gage came out and installed water softener system for the house as well as a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen for drinking water. His service is excellent, good craftsmanship and he doesn't cut corners, he choose to do things right the first time. He replaced the plastic valve that came with my RO system with another one which has metal internal.
He can be difficult to get a hold of. That's because he gets pretty busy with everyone calling and trying to book his time. But once you do book an appointment, he does show up and get the job done right. He is a one man operation after all.
Water in San Jose is quite hard, I recommend you to call Gage and get yourself a water softener and reverse osmosis system.

Gage installed a reverse osmosis unit and whole house water conditioner. I can say he does great work. I will call again in the future if I needed any work done.

This was last winter. My water heater leaked so I found North Cal Water on Yelp based on its reviews and called Gage. He came to my house the same day at really late hour and gave me a quote. The next day, he installed a new heater and charged me exactly the same amount he quoted. There was no nonsense, just plain good work.
It's been almost a year now. I haven't found any problem with the new heater.
