My Noritz tankless water heater stopped flowing hot water. I contacted Noritz and connected via phone with ""Valarie"" . I explained the problem I was experiencing and Valerie proceeded to ask me I would be willing to check a few things out for her. Valerie was extremely patient and professional. Valerie has me check the igniter , btw she made sure I had unplugged the unit and turned off the water supply as well as the gas supply. After checking the igniter without success Valerie had me go to the electronic control unit inside the garage. After several combination of test number inputs Valerie said it was the igniter and flame rod plug. She apologized and let me know I should replace gaskets also. Valerie said she could get the part shipped to me ASAP. When I gave her my address she informed me that I could pick the parts up today. I agreed and when I arrived at will call the parts were ready to go. I installed the parts which was very simple and the unit works like a clock. This company is great and the unit hasn't given a problem until now after 12 years of use. Thank you Valarie and Noritz. Great service.

Don't buy this system!!! Spent 6k on a tankless water heater and for the last two years the heater shuts off and I have to manually turn it on and off. After a three hour call with the company we got it to work for a week and now back at the same problem. Neither the installers nor the company care to go out of their way to help you once it's in

Stay far AWAY from NORITZ Tankless water heaters. THEY SUCK and will cost you a boat load of $$$$$$

I have 2 units that have caused me $21,000 dollars in plumbing service calls. over 21/2 year. 3 mother boards blown out, units shut off, and leaks galore inside the tankless water heater. I still have cold water coming out, units shouting off, and countless other problems after 2 1/2 years.

They have the Worst product ever!
Today after my 125th call to them, they decided my room was too small for these units to go into. The room was too hot. They never came out to see the room.
I also have a FULL STAND alone Air-conditioning unit, designated for the 400sq room. It runs days and night.

They sent a senior service installer over and he couldn't even figure out why my units shut down, sent cold water through house daily. If you would like cold cold water, broken down machines, and thousands of dollars in parts, plumbing service calls, and YEARS of FUSTRATION...... This is your company.

I am ripping them out next week and going with a company Navien.
they actually know what they are doing. NORITZ you SUCK

We recieved our tankless water heater a couple days ago, installed over the weekend. To our dismay no REQUIRED remote comes with the unit.
It's listed as OPTIONAL on all paperwork, online etc. We didn't think it was needed other than to adjust the temperature above 120, so we didn't order the ""optional remote"".
Got the unit installed---no hot water. Indeed the ""optional"" remote is actually REQUIRED. We are on our second day of no hot water, remote hopefully arriving tomorrow.
Why is this NOT stated? Why is this remote listed as optional and sold separately? I know it is a bottom line thing, but you need to include it with purchase of the unit. We saved three months of mortgage payments to change out our old water heater and go with YOUR BRAND based on great reviews.
Now our family has no hot water, running pots of water to the bathtub for an inch of warm water to use to bathe. Neither of us can work without hot water, we've lost two days of work each.
Cannot sanitize dishes, use the dishwasher, run the laundry etc.
I cannot tell you how disappointed, angry, DISAPPOINTED and outraged we are with this purchase. Called this morning to confirm the remote was NEEDED and asked why that was not stated clearly anywhere. The man who answered the phone had no answer.
What a disappointment this has been, another day lost of work for us tomorrow as well.
It's deceptive, I hope not purposefully. We have lost income and will lose another day tomorrow.
What terrible customer service, sneaky tactics and lack of respect for the general public. This is our first tankless water heater and we chose YOUR brand above the other choices. Clearly all the reading and research, reading the entire manual online before making the decision and purchase still left us without the needed parts.
We are in awe, disappointed and saddened by this entire experience.
Please consider removing your non optional remote choice when allowing customers to purchase your product. They should be informed and provided with all needed equipment to have a functional unit.

To follow up Stephanie I used all the material that came in the box followed the instructions provided no alterations no shortcuts. Considering the reviews, I can see why you're so busy. I should have looked into the brand before purchase. But you've been around a while so I know the name. For one if a customer calls and asks for service don't make them take the front cover off the unit and look for error codes. They are a customer having a problem with your unit, send your ""authorized service tech"" and have them deal with the customer. Don't make the customer take pictures of the heat exchanger and ask them to give a parts list of what's been damaged. Everything you do after those issues points to your company not wanting to honor warranties. Then it doesn't. More questions about length of run, recirc pumps, timers. Any reason to blame the installer. Your product is called an EZTR40. EZ? Your claim is to replace a 40 gallon tank heater with your unit. Your heat exchanger lasted less than the warranty for a tank heater and you say it's my fault. My supplier sold me on the product because it took the place of the old heater. It doesn't. I can't run the vent you provided through the existing water heater vent. 30 feet of hose and I used less than half of it. Ridiculous

This is one of the most incompetent companies I have ever dealt with. The contract they provide under the warranty for the repairs don't mean nothing they say a show one thing and do another bottom line I would NOT recommend to anyone they took my unit for the repair never did repair it under the terms that they provide I ended up paying for the new parts and the service and then unit went to garbage.

Response to Stephanie in Greg L. Review & Correction to technician:
We ""may"" sell our house & if we are selling we definitely want this noise fixed/gone. However, we want this noise/fixed gone no matter what as it is very disruptive. We decided to communicate via yelp since it seems like that was your preferred form of communication. My husband tried to email you with no response so we decided to communicate here... We did not have this noise with our standard water heater. This noise only started occurring with the Noritz tankless water heater. The noise is because of this Noritz tankless water heater, it is causing our pipes to rattle & shake causing this very loud thumping noise. We are only asking for Noritz to fix the noise that this machine is causing within our house. We are very disappointed, based on your response, it sounds like there is nothing you can do & we are on our own on this & our only choice is to replace this Nortiz tankless heater and go back to a standard water heater in order to rid of this noise.

I threw my water heater away after 5 years of spending hundreds of dollars and cold water. I bought a flush kit and flushed every year water was always clear. This company still would not honor warranty. Its shocking they are still in business.

We've had our two tankless water heaters Since 2009. We use them in our dry cleaning and Laundry Company. Prior to installing these units I took a class at Noritz to get an idea how the inside of the units worked. After taking the class, I came to the conclusion that regular maintenance was going to be very important. We purchased a circulating pump to do the bi-annual cleaning of the coils.
I love the fact that the controller will indicate the problem with the unit. Here is where Noritz needs to improve. You must have lots of patience when calling for support. It's a waiting game and as I recently experienced, that not all support staff members are patient and knowledgeable. I finally got in touch with a gentleman who was knowledgeable, patient and he took the time to troubleshoot our problems. I called his supervisor to give him a positive review. I suggest that if you call in for support and your not getting the results, ask to hold for another technician. Both units are working as good as the first day we installed them!

Great product !

We have a ten year old Nortiz. Our water hardness level is 9 grains per ph and after spending in excess of 5K for initial installation, we were told that we would need to have our heater flushed every year. This costs about $300. Three years ago, we were told that we needed to have the entire system cleaned. This ran $500. Today (2018) we were told that several parts of our system need to be replaced and that getting the replacement parts would take SEVEN DAYS. I can order juice from the UK and it will be here in two days. How is it possible that it takes seven days to get the parts that will (hopefully) reestablish hot water in my home?? I was also told that if it is not the spark plug and igniter, it could possibly be the circuit board. So it could take in excess of seven days and $1000. There is no way that a tankless water heater can possibly cost less than a traditional water heater.
