They came right on time, on an emergency basis. They did an amazing job! I was so happy. I would definitely recommend this company to anybody. I consider it A+ plumbing. It was the best experience I ever had with a plumber. I am very grateful to them. If you want someone to do a good job, go to nixon's plumbing. By far the best!

We could not be happier with Nixon's plumbing. Matt was an awesome technician that helped us get our sewer lateral in South Lake Tahoe to pass it's air test. he worked so hard to figure out why it was not passing, fixed several areas, and ultimately got our lateral passed and working well all while taking our budget into account. We are thrilled with our interaction with Nixons (especially after having issues with several other local companies not being able to help us with the issue). What a wonderful ""can do"" plumbing service. I own 4 real estate companies in the bay area and work often with plumbers so I feel that I have seen all ends of the spectrum with service companies. Thank you Matt and thank you Nixons!!!!

This company ROCKS!!! They are informative and courtious. They showed up on time (not like the other guys)(who never showed or called). I was going to use lake tahoe plumbing and heating.NOT!!! they never called or showed up on the day they were suppose to so I went on line. I ended up somehow on YELP and NIXONS had a 4.5star rating. I called their office they quickly showed up we talked about the job and we made plans to have the job done the next day. They showed the next morning made plans with the city to shut off the water so they could replace our shutoff valve. The city guy showed up they shut the water off and in minuits the valve was don and the water was back on. then the plumber completed the rest of the job in a very timely manner. This company ROCKS and they also saved me close to a $400.00 savings right off the top in many ways.. I will HIGHLY recommend this company to everyone who is looking for a plumber.. He also made sure none of my cats snuk down the hole under the house..

I have been using Nixon's for 5 years since I bought my cabin, which is old and is on a well. The well (tank, housing, pump, etc) has needed regular upgrading and repairs over the years. The gas fireplace, which is the only source of heat, has also needed regular repairs and replacement parts. They are always available and responsive. They do excellent work and are honest. I feel their prices are competitive, and I can always count on them in an emergency. I would strongly recommend them.

We needed an gas line run from our water heater to our new gas stove. Lake Tahoe Plumbing bid $1550 for the job. Nixon's did the job for $300. Dave was prompt, professional, and courteous. I would highly recommend Nixon's for your plumbing needs.

I don't normally write reviews but have recently started doing it when I find something exceptional. I'm in mid-job with Nixon's on the installation and configuration of a new heater and humidification system. While I've not used any of the other local competitors, without reservation I'd recommend Nixon's. Here's my reasons:
1. Prompt and Professional Staff - Over the time working with them, they pick up the phone, do what they say they're going to do, and are polite and professional.
2. VERY high quality work - I do a lot of construction on the side in my homes. Mostly, I re-do shoddy work that others have done so I know bad workmanship and cheap materials. The particular installation had a lot of unforseen problems once we pulled out the old system. I watched as they made the quality decisions that actually took them longer to do but were the right ones.
3. Experience and permanancy - The install (Matt) has been with Doug Nixon for 6 years + and is happy and competant. I had some very techical discussions with him on electronics, wiring, humidity, air velocity, etc... He's very good.
4. Reputation and Integrity - The job took significantly longer than was in the bid. Also, we determined that more equipment would be needed to finish it. I spoke directly with Doug and he was more concerned about the quality of the work, getting the job done, and insuring I was a happy customer than talking about the possibility of gettting a bit more money for the job.
I've already paid them in full and have high confidence in them. High recommendation from me.

I had a leaky main shutoff valve that needed replacement. Call in and was scheduled with Tim for Monday morning. He was there as planned and very professional. He handled coordinating with the city to get the water shutoff in the street so he can do his work. He did run into a few snags and it look longer than the expected 2 hours but the job was completed successfully and I paid the price quoted. I give them a thumbs up and will call them again if I need their services.

took them a couple of trips to fix the sink right but they did fix it for my rental property... even though it was pretty expensive - $280 for an under kitchen sink repair.
bottom line is that the work was done correctly in the end and i would use them again if i needed a plumber in SLT.

A friend recommended Nixon to me in 2005. I've been using them since and they are always professional, on-time, and have not tried to up-sale or overcharge. Last year I purchased a home warranty, and when I had to make a call I was worried whom I might get, and was more than pleased when I got Nixon. They've always solved my problems, either directly, or when contacted by the home warranty.

Nixon's is some of the most costly game in town, but they are by far the best.
When you call to get something fixed (like a heater / thermostat that for some insane reason has just decided to stop putting out heat in the middle of January) they're prompt in returning your call to the emergency line.
They show up when they say they will, instead of giving you a three hour+ window like a lot of other companies.
They do it right the first time. Nixon installed a new double sided wall heater and water heater in our (very, very) old house. The only problem we've had was due to our being dumb, not their work :)
