Nick's plumbing was called out to free three drains. The first call took two hours. During the call, they found that the water heater safety valve required replacing, and there was no water cut-off valve to the heater. They also recommended a water heater safety system, Floodstop. It was agreed to install the three items the following day, which took one hour.
I checked the list price of the three parts, and where there was a range of prices, I choose the most expensive one. The parts came to $252. The total bill came to just under $1850. That computes to over $500 per hour labor. I wonder if my not being there and my daughter acting in my place had anything to do with this over the top cost?

I called Nick's to install a water line for a refrigerator. On the day of service, I saw him drive by looking so I stepped out front to flag him down.I don't know why that made him so upset, but I heard him say "I see you 'expletives deleted', hold on". Needless to say, I told him to leave in the same way and called Nick's to express my anger. They sent another tech who attempted to be nicer to the point of being obsequious, but then proceeded to quote a price of $575 for a job other plumbers would charge less than $200. In fact, I called someone else and they did it with parts for $165. Needless to say, Nick's is through in my book.

My first experience with Nick's was when a drain pipe under my house collapsed. I had 4 plumbers come out. Two recommended a very very expensive and invasive solution. One of them said they couldn't give me a price until they had dug under the house to discover the problem. Nick's was the most reasonable solution and the best price. Richard made me feel confident that they knew what they were doing and would do it well. And they delivered!

Since then, they have done several minor repairs on my house - not cheap, but quick and good service and they get it right the first time.

I have had cheaper plumbers, yes, but I have suffered the consequences of those decisions, too.

We called to ask how much it would cost to troubleshoot our tankless water heater error code. They quoted my wife and I on 2 separate calls. When they showed up the repair man was very nice but charged me 275 for simply calling the rheem technical support for instructions. No work was done on the unit and that cost 275, really.Way overpriced and I quickly found numerous other companies that charged half that price to troubleshoot the error. On top of that the estimates he gave me to repair the tankless water heater for a simple cleaning was 800-1200. My second opinion came and laughed when they heard that price. The estimated 1/5th the price.
I will not be using them any more. Plenty of otherness honest, reputable, professional and friendly companies that will get my business.

I found the technician who came over kinda pushy and also seemed pricey to me. I f I had not been up against the wall I would have gotten a second bid. Not my first first choice. Good but pricey.

most professional and courteous contractor/home improvement/workman/handyman company i've dealt with. they were over and done with the job looooong before any of the other plumbers i'd left messages with called me back! one star off for price, but it was worth it for a job well done and peace of mind. workman also gave great suggestions (like pour 1 cup bleach in sink drain once per month to kill algae and prevent buildup/blockage) to delay future service call!

Extremely pricey! I guess if you have an emergency and there is noone else to call... But if you have time to do your homework you will find out that their prices are easily double (if not more) than other licensed plumbers out there.

I would NOT recommend Nick's plumbing at all. We only had them out for a service call to get an estimate, which was a $69 fee but their bid to replace 2 water heaters was over $4000. We had the work done for less than $2500. They also told us that it would take 6 hours of labor and the company we hired did the work in 3 hours.

Called these guys when our kitchen sink was backing up and our usual guy couldn't make it out for 5 days. Quick response, nice enough young guy, took a look, snaked the pipe a bit, said it was getting stuck and pulling back dirt so we must have a broken pipe under the house. Provided a quick estimate for the repair with 2 options, even walked me through where my sewer lines were buried, searched for cleanouts, etc. This was all reasonable and fine, though our sinks still weren't draining and the $6,000-$7,000 quoted for the fix was unpleasant to contemplate.

However, we had our usual guy come out when he was available 3 days later, he snaked the pipe again, and not only was he able to clear the pipe with a modicum of effort (there was some narrowing, nothing impassible), but he demonstrated to me that what was being pulled back was clearly not the clay-like stuff that you would find with a broken pipe but black "grease" i.e. decomposed food waste from the kitchen sink. Any plumber worth his salt should know the difference, or so I'm told.

All in all, if you need a quick response for a simple job and don't mind paying a premium, these may be the plumbers for you. Can't recommend them for much else, though.

We asked them to repair a leaking toilet that was running. They said that could not find flapper replacement valve and that I would have to replace the entire toilet! We have had the flapper valve replaced several times in the past and this was obviously a scam. Don't call these guys!
