I had a great experience with the air conditioning team from NexGen (John, Johnny ,Nate, Benny, Hector and David) that recently replaced my condenser and furnace The heat and humidity outside were near record and with the broken HVAC, my family was left sweltering inside our home.
The anticipation grew as we eagerly awaited the arrival of the HVAC team that would finally bring relief to our sweltering home. Fortunately , this team were professional, highly skilled, and with a personalized approach that stood out. They were on time , explained the process , and paid attention to details.
Their teamwork was impressive, resulting in an efficient installation. The improved performance of my HVAC system post-installation is evident, and I highly recommend this team for their first-rate service and dedication to customer satisfaction.
Fam L.As anticipated, their quote was about 5k overpriced and their price match policy is fake. Ended up going with Forever Cool who did an amazing job and services the downtown area and others. It was 9k where nextgen quoted 14k for a smaller unit!
I'm not a fan of companies who advertise fake promises of price match just to get customers in the door and false reassurance that they're competitively priced when in fact they're soooo overpriced. Also the owner should stop the fake ""hold "" music ads that further promote their fake price match policy
Steven S.I called Nexgen to unclog a kitchen sink. I honestly don't know if they came from the Torrance location.
The two technicians were on-time and as friendly, clean, and considerate as could be. After they explained different options that included an expensive Hydro Jet cleaning or replacing a section of main-line drain pipe that they said was the cause of the problem for $1,200, I opted for the advertised $89 drain cleaning. They explained that it would just be a temporary fix and the drain would probably clog-up again in a few weeks.
When they finished an hour later and presented a bill for $211.75, I asked, ""what happened to the $89 advertised special?"" They said the $89 was for just them to show up and didn't include any work they did. A few words were exchanged and I paid the bill. Lesson learned.

Adrian was upfront and transparent about the condition (both good and bad) of our AC unit. He was receptive to questions and provided detailed explanations of his recommendations for servicing our system. I appreciate his candor and feel confidence in the company's services.
The technician sent was very polite and tried his best, but he simply had zero experience with heat pump systems. I do appreciate the effort he made, but he was grasping at straws and guessing. These guesses ranged from claiming the thermostat that's been working fine for 3 years had spontaneously become incompatible all the way up to telling me the entire system was shot and needed to be replaced.
Granted, he was very forthcoming about the fact that he didn't know how to work on heat pumps.
NexGen will not provide a refund for the ""services"" rendered, even though it's become evident they were unnecessary and the technician was throwing things at the wall in hope they would magically stick.
I get that HVAC technicians aren't clairvoyant and aren't magicians. Not being able to fix something is forgivable. What leaves a bad taste in my mouth are the ethically questionable business practices. In the initial visit, the technician said he got the system working, confirmed it was blowing cold air and packed up. He told me to leave the a/c running because it would take a few hours for it to start fully cooling. He said if it didn't work, it was because of the ""incompatible"" thermostat and that he'd come back and swap it out. I paid him and thanked him, believing him when he said it was fixed even though it wasn't working when he left.
Once they had my money, NexGen didn't care the problem wasn't actually fixed. They made scheduling promises they wouldn't honor; ""tomorrow or Monday at the latest"" meant Thursday. They continued to send back the technician who didn't know what he was doing. And I don't say that with disrespect, because he admitted flat out that he'd only briefly learned about heat pumps during his schooling and wasn't experienced with them. When he installed the new, cOmPaTibLe thermostat, not only didn't work, but it was turning on the heater instead of the a/c. Things were just getting WORSE and I began to worry the unit actually WOULD need to be replaced if he continued to hack at it.
No thanks to NexGen, my a/c is working now and the actual problem turned out to be extremely trivial and took 2 minutes and $0 to fix. The original thermostat works fine and we did not need to replace the entire system.
While I don't believe it was done maliciously, the fact of the matter is this company charged me over a thousand dollars, had me buy a new thermostat for no reason, and strung me along for weeks all because of the inexperience of their employee.
Kelvin L.Felipe was great. Friendly, knowledgeable, polite. Did a great job with the capacitor replacement. My AC stopped blowing cold air but after the replacement it feels better now. I'll update the review if it for some reason craps out again, but for now it's good. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is they were pricey. The cost of the capacitor is higher than what I've heard other places charge. But I'd recommend Felipe.
Worst company I've ever had to deal with. I'm a tenant on a rental property, with a HVAC system through NextGen. The AC has been malfunctioning for 2 weeks and we've tried to contact NextGen to repair it and twice they have sent out technicians to fix the issue and both times it has not worked. They have, however charged for both appointments even though they didn't repair anything. Trying to set up an appointment is a hopeless mess and technicians don't come in the window and cancel without telling us. Customer service on the phone is rude and snippy when trying to schedule a new appointment and won't even apologize for their failure to fix our AC system. Then they make it out to be my fault that they haven't been capable of fixing anything, and can't comprehend why we would want an advanced technician to come soon to fix our AC in the middle of a heat wave. Save yourself a headache and go literally anywhere else.
Bryce M.Definitely a positive experience with Daniel and his HVAC install team. The crew was professional, hard working and answered all questions. Daniel was patient and went the extra mile to explain every part of the system and how it works. A register needed to be relocated in the bathroom and I need to give a shout out to Miguel for his drywall patching and texturing skills after the old location was removed. The team also used plastic and drop cloths which kept the area clean like they were never there. A big thumbs up to the entire crew, Daniel, Ricky, Miguel, Josh and Jacob.
I had my AC serviced today my Dustin who provided friendly & professional customer service. Highly recommended.
