Recommended Customer Reviews
Response time was good /install appt made 1 day later
Price very expensive at $200/hr labor
Technician was very pleasant and accommodating
Next day my sink fell out and when I called it in I was told the timing was just a coincidence and that the technician was not responsible for this happening
the gentleman on the phone when I called to report said he had over 30 years of experience to call this and I did not.
also I was billed $25 for parts( I bought the disposal and plug to be installed)
And parts were not listed. His cell phone rang a minimum of 7 times while he was working at my house, I was distracted so I don't know how he wasn't. Should deduct that from the total time charged, right?
Fvck U.Despite the owner trying to claim any negative review on his is fake , etc I really did in fact call and leave messages for a quote. Odd that it takes him 2 years to write a response to a reveiw.
I had occasion to call Newman's last friday for a water heater replacement, which was very expensive. Saturday 5am my tenants called to say they had no heat, so I called a HVAC service company. When they got to the property they informed me that the problem was that the plumber failed to bleed the line from the water heater to the Apollo Heat unit. I paid the HVAC company for the service, and when I reached out to Newman's they said it was not their responsibility to bleed a plumbing line leading out of the water heater they replaced. After some back and forth Mr. Newman became verbally abusive, calling me names! Watch out!
I am not in San Francisco, I am in Portsmouth, VA
It's rare to find good work in the Hampton Roads area but these guys are it. Called them for an emergency underground water leak in my yard and they found it, fixed it and filled the hole back in in under an hour. The hourly emergency rate had me worried I was going to be eating a big bill at first but they do not mess around and get the job done quickly and well, absolutely worth the rate for professional service.
Very unprofessional group. Techs showed up late & untidy for the initial assessment. Paid the $85.00 for the trip/repairs to be done later and was given a day & time to have the work completed...which never happened btw. They kept my $85.00 and did nothing but looked at my tank & took a picture. The day the tech was scheduled to show up he didn't. After calling the office I was told the tech had vehicle troubles (your problem not mine) and they weren't certain when I could expect a tech. I expressed my displeasure w/ the receptionist in that I'd taken off work to have this done and never even got a courtesy call explaining what was going on and the plan going forward. While doing so the owner gets on the line rude & w/ a horrible attitude. I asked him ""Can I expect a tech today?"" he went on a very disrespectful rant telling me about how he owns the company & a bunch of meaningless crap! that I would never expect from a ""business owner."" It didn't take long for me to realize why the service had been TRASH! I wouldn't recommend this group to change someone's water in a dog bowl! Maybe that's their SOP (standard operating procedure) charge $85.00 for an assessment and then treat your customers like crap. If I could give them a ZERO that's exactly what I give them. Keep away!

I've been a home owner for a long time. And sometimes stuff happens. Upon moving into my (new to me) older home, we learned about some of the bad things that people do with their flushing standards. This bit us in the rear when the entire system got clogged. This clogging created a backflow of stuff you don't want to see, to come back up.. into the showers, bathtubs, yeah... it was messy.. and ugly.
I called around to find a plumber that would be willing to help me and at first I just left a message to call me back. Shortly after, Newman's quickly responded by returning my call. The lady was very friendly and responsive to my needs. She mentioned that they had availability sooner than other places AND they had an option for emergency service. The emergency service (after hours) was obviously going to cost more but honestly, I had literal fecal matter in all our tubs, etc. it was totally worth it to have someone come asap.
The gentleman who came over definitely knew his stuff. Dave had been doing it for a long time. He was very quick to isolate the issue and get everything resolved. He was very concise with what he was doing and the path to get things clear.
I'm very pleased with the service I got as I had a no BS - let's get you straight service and was able to get it when I wanted it (which was immediate). As much as I hope I never have to call, if I do... I know I'll call Newman's.

My downstairs neighbor share drain pipe with us. I was dumping large quantities of water down the sink and suddenly his sink starts overflowing with water. This is 9pm so I called Newman's Plumbing and the owner was very nice and seemed like a very honest person. We decided not to have anything done that night, but have someone come out the next day.
The guy (David) snaked the pipe, found a baby wipe (from the previous tenants) and everything was great. Decided to ask him install a faucet in one of the bathrooms - it took him over 45 minutes (might have been because he was on the phone the whole damn time?). Of course, they don't charge for a part of the hour, so that's a $250 faucet installation.
When I went to check on it, the stopper is hitting the pipe every time you move it. Says there is nothing he can do, it's the way it is, it's a proper installation.
After they leave, turns out he did not seal the faucet!
His colleague had to come out on Monday to fix that, charged me another $115 to fix the issue with the pipe.
So, the best work they do is when they talk you out of their showing up :)
Nice person answered my call, plumbers came out that afternoon. Large drain/sewer cast iron rusted out in crawl space. They took out large spool piece and replaced that piece and other line with pvc. Cleaned up. Reasonable price based on job.
We called newmans to come out and snake our pipes due to them back up in the tub. The guy showed up Thursday snaked said he found tampons in my pipe which is funny because we only have one female in our home and she does not use tampons. So he said he cleared the pipe and not even 12 hrs later im having the same issue again. I reached out to them and he said he was gonna charge me another 300 to co.e out and snake it again because its a weekend day. I said why when you didn't do the job right the first time. So I ended up calling another plumber they came out and did the job properly and got it done.. so I contacted newmans again to speak to them in regards to the job and the guy was very unprofessional called my wife an ass because she was upset because we paid them to do a job and it was not done properly. So they said we still have to pay for the job and there is nothing they was willing to work out I will never use them again due to them being unprofessional and cussing at my wife
ThePinkBox S.Richard did an awesome job setting up and installing all of my sinks for my business kitchen. Newman will be our go to professional plumbers via the future. Thanks Richard for your friendly speedy and accurate installations.
