Pros...they respond quickly and do good work

Cons.....their prices are expensive and not consistent with the service provided.
They had to fix a burst pipe in our garage which consisted mostly of soldering and were there about 40 minutes. We were told the price was $425 plus tax which is outrageous. When we were quoted the price we expressed that we felt this was way too expensive and their reply was ""that's the price"". We paid the price because this was an emergency and we did not have a choice but were not happy with this experience and will not use them again.

Bottom Line: If you want a fair price & hassle free, professional install, this is the place to call. They did exactly what they said & gave great advice on how what I need can happen without breaking my budget.

Detail: Rich's plumbing & HVAC came out to do an estimate on upgrading my Perth Amboy NJ home steam boiler from oil to gas. Pete showed up on time & in less than 30 minutes gave me a no nonsense can do approach along with a competitive estimate.

Pete approached the job professionally from start to finish. The install was done in one day as promised with no hidden charges and/or unexpected delays.

Attention everyone,
Please, please please refrain from doing any business with Rich's Plumbing Inc.
If you refer to their services, they will eat you alive once they get you and will charge you an arm and a leg. This company is really fishy and worst of it all, we got to be coarse out on the phone by a nasty bitter old lady on the phone. If you are looking for pitiful and lamentable service, this is the company to refer to .
Long story short, this people installed a boiler heater for me and couple months after , nothing is working . When I called this miserable plumbers, they asked for an astronomical price for their labor which I do not understand since all the wiring and alignment were done previously. Oh man ! their appetite for money is just gargantuan. But hey, I looked for a second plumbing opinion and certified of course . My new plumber asked for 1/3 of the price Rich's company wanted to charge for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr save your soul.

I used this company for a leak up on the ceiling for my condo and the customer service lady was being a bit rude. I really needed a plumber to come look at it so i went with these guys. Plumber comes to my place and says it will prob be around $400 to which i agreed and when he started working he wasn't even sure about who's line it was. Who would know but a plumber? He didn't even use his own ladder asked for ours and left garbage at corners. Since he wasn't sure about who's water line he was fixing he had our water line as well as upstairs people water line turned off. He simply couldn't figure out who's line he's fixing and when he was asked to write a report as the insurance people would need it. He was a bit hesitant and wrote a wrong report.
I called back rich's plumbing after confirming that it was our water line with the association asking if the plumber can change the report, the guy on the line was very rude and simply said ""NO"" we won't change it, not even we can't. ""you even signed on the receipt and the case is closed"" he said. Didn't give a crap about their mistake never agreed to it and kept saying we won't.
I thought it was very rude and ignorant, i wouldn't call them again for any service.

I was looking to have a boiler and hot water heater replaced. I had to wait several days for someone to come out to give an estimate. This was a bit disconcerting since 1) we had no heat and were freezing and 2) had several other professionals come to give estimates on this job the day or day after we called them. After they finall came out I called back to request another quote for the bioler/heating untis for my 2 neighbors. All three units had damage to the bioler/heaters due to a flood and I recommended that we get all of the repair/replacement work done by the same company. When I called the office to reqest someone come out again to give us a quote for the other two units the woman that runs their office was so incredibly rude and insulting I chose to use another company. Additionally, she attempted to charge us even more simply to have someone come out to give an estimate for the additional work we were requesting. Our original job was going to cost $7K and I was calling to offer them a $21K job but the woman on the phone was so disrespectful and downright obnoxious that I have now gone elsewhere. I would highly recommend going elsewhere because the last thing you want to deal with when it comes to home repairs is someone who is offensive and rude to speak with. It's annoying enough to have no heat or hot water in your home but I doubt many people need the additional stress of having to deal with one of the most condenscending and rude people I've ever come across when they make a call to try and get repairs made.

This company is completely rude, dishonest and rip off for customers.

We contacted for broken central A/C. They suggested $90 for service call + repair. When asked on the phone - how much would they charge for Freeon refill - refused to give quote.

Once technician arrived he quoted $160/pound - 5 times higher than other shops who would do it for $32/pound

Technician was very rude and all he wanted to was take service money and run. When contacted manager - they had same attitude

Toilet tank replacement. I bought a Toilet but was having trouble putting on the tank so I called these guys. I had every thing they needed to install. The guy that showed up Pedro was rude and kept stating that my toilet was garbage. That's not how to treat you customer. After him complaining he had his assistant install the tank. Also they charged me for two guys one to watch ( Pedro ) and one to do the work. After it was installed I informed him that it was crooked and he refused to straighten it out. I was quoted for $85 which was high for a tank that should take only 20 minutes but was charged $160. I was charged 75 for two nuts and $8 supply line. After arguing with the guy that all the parts where there and he should have used my parts that came with the toilet from home depot he got angry and started to raise his voice. He was put in his place but still I was charged $107. I will not recommend this company because you may get an A hole like Pedro.

My tenant's heat was out, and mother hen made sure she would have her heat fixed for her kids, or ELSE. So, fearful of her wrath, and, y'know, it's the right thing to do, an Internet search led me to Rich's.
I was suspicious bcs the website was kinda flashy, but the fella who did the job was thoroughly knowledgeable, professional, very punctual, and clearly had a lot of experience. He even helped me understand other significant issues in the original installation. I'm completely satisfied.

the Secretary is nice and does what she can. the employee(the older of 2, younger man was always shut down, with a finger in the face,if he opened his mouth) that was sent to replace a hot water heater was rude irresponsible. he drained the water from a hot water heater on the floor of a recently painted/drylocked floor... 60 gallons.. he/the company wanted 170 dollars because it took 13 min for my mother to get to home depot. this was added stress and aggravation while trying to sell the house, the only reason this company was called was because the insurance through the Realtor, long story short my uncle changed it in 45 min with local code updates. if i lived with in 1000 miles i would find this gentleman and have a chat, and to the company.... fire insurance isn't a bad idea

i have a home warranty co. and called them at 8am in the morning because I had a flood from my upstairs shower pouring down into my rec. room and basement, I turned off the main water supply.....they contacted rich's plumbing at 8:30 and i was told by Mary that they would be here between 10am -2pm..called at 2:30 and mary told me that it would be now 3-4pm..called at 4:30 and got an answering service. called my warranty co. and had them cancel the service call....so i've been without water since 8am and this is suppose to be an emergency and this co. didn't even bother to call me telling me they're running late...or not even showing up....very poor customer service!!! How does co's like this stay in buss?....This is for all to see if your planning on using them....BTW, I called up my local plumber who the warranty co. said i could use and they're on their way over....Now that's service!!!!...Wish they told me earlier I could use them....
