I have been with New Century for over two years. In Nov. 2018 my water heater burst causing extensive damage to my home. I called NCHS to get my water heater replaces (extra coverage for which I had paid) and Jim informed me their technician to do this was out. This same conversation happened for several weeks. Finally, he stated I could use another company since they couldn't fulfill their obligations under the contract and they would reimburse me. I was finally able to get my water heater installed in December. I sent in the receipt and to date after many, many phone calls with the owner himself, and leaving messages, I do not have my $500 reimbursement.

They deserve *0* stars.

I have used New Century Home Services for almost 17 years and yes, I am a big fan. While no company is perfect, I have always had a comfort level for their quality, at the minimum of being a first line of defense (for all appliances and mechanics of my home), but in almost all cases, the problem solvers - whether with one visit or an installation, if needed, and at competitive pricing. Their annual fee is more than made up, even if only one or two visits a year are needed.
A special shout-out to the appliance technician, Ken, who I call the Doctor, and whom I have seen bring appliances back from the dead and has extended the lives of my appliances by many years. I truly think he can do anything and I always get an education when he comes. I would also like to make a special mention to those in the office, especially Susan, who always has a pleasant, calm manner when answering and is very helpful under a stressful environment with their phones non-stop ringing. Plus to Carol who wears many hats and is a problem solver. With one issue I had, she was compassionate and rectified the problem almost instantaneously. A high compliment in a very hectic, pressure-filled industry. I am glad to be able to rely on New Century.

I have used New Century Home Services for a home service contract for years. I have never been disappointed with their service. I have had several appliance repairs and plumbing repairs taken care of through them. I like that I see the same service men over and over instead of a new subcontractor every time like the country wide service providers. Their office staff is friendly and always takes a minute to chat, making me feel like they really care about their customers. They have been around for a long time and I will continue to use them and recommend them.

New Century Home Services is a complete waste of money. They have absolutely no customer service skills nor do they care once they have your $500. I used their service because my mother signed up for it and she recently passed away. So I decided to use their service to replace a simple light switch. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!!!
The person they sent over was on the phone when I opened the door and basically ignored my greeting. He was on the phone for 5 minutes before he came into the house. He arrived 15 minutes before the deadline of 11:00am-1:00pm. Once he came in he removed the switch plate and said there was a problem with the switch (We knew that already). He then left the house without saying what he was doing and came back 20 minutes later. He was on the phone most of that time and then only to tell me he doesn't have the replacement switch. My wife and I had the day off and waited all morning to be told that they didn't have a simple light switch in the truck. This is inexcusable and totally incompetent. I called the office back after he left and told me to make another appointment. I left a message but never heard back from them. So I called them back and asked what is going on with your company. She said that the serviceman was looking for the part for 20 minutes and that he was on the phone with her. The bottom line is that once they have your $500 they are not interested in your problems at all. I went to the Home Depot and purchased the $6 switch and installed it myself in 5 minutes. They showed no empathy or consideration at all. When I told her I would not continue the service next year, she couldn't care less. You've been warned!

I am a retired woman in her 70's. I live alone and depend on the service that New Century Home Services provides to me. Regardless of the issue I have in my home they are there for me and I never feel like I am being taken advantage of. Where I live is known for having a wealth of plumbing issues and New Century takes care of it all for me as well as all the other systems in my home. I highly recommend their service for your home.

My dishwasher went broke on December 30, 2013. Today is January 15, 2014 and it is still not fixed. I had an appointment for January 13. Nobody come. The same for yesterday and the same for today. This company is a scam.

I started with New Century Home when I moved into a new development in Rye Brook 10 years ago. They were more than happy to take my money when everything was brand new and under manufacturer warranty. But once that protection is gone, they told me my oven was too old, the part was too expensive to replace even though it was supposedly one of the appliances they warrantied. So they told me the part would cost $400.00. What is their value added in this situation? The same thing happened to me when my water heater broke several years ago. It would have cost me the same amount of money to have an independent plumber do the job, so whats the point in paying them $400 a year. After I was told that my oven would not be repaired unless I paid for the part, I decided to cancel my policy and asked for the balance of the year to be refunded to me ( this was in July, so I expected a refund for 5 months of coverage). It took them over 1.5 months and numerous calls on my part and a threat of going to the Better Business Bureau for the owner to send me an invoice where he itemized the calls the repairman made to look at the oven and come up with a grand total that magically wiped out any credit I was due. Furthermore, they did not even perform the A/C ""tune up"" for the Spring/Summer for which I paid $75. These guys are unethical, and their exclusions on the flip side of the contract excludes most items unless they are very new. Its much better to go through Service Magic for a plumber or electrician whos highly rated than to go with a one stop place like New Century Home Services that have many exclusions and average to mediocre repairmen.

When this company installed a new water heater, they used a flexible hose to connect to the natural gas line rather than black iron as required by code. Still trying to get them to fix this code violation.

They also installed a pressure tank on my water heater without my prior authorization and charged me $200. They said it was required by code and would void the water tank warranty if if were not installed. Both statements were untrue. Since I already had a water pressure safety valve on my water line, installing a water pressure tank was completely unnecessary.

My injector pump for a below grade bathroom was running but not pumping fluids. They said I needed a new pump. That didn't seem right since the motor actually worked. Another company diagnosed the problem as a faulty float collar which was much cheaper to repair than what was proposed by New Century.
