Duc gets job done.

After stating that, I will NOT recommend him to anyone due to the integrity of his words and honesty of his charging. Fixing 1 leaking kitchen faucet and replacing 1 bathroom sink faucet in my condo, he charged me $505 in total. And here is the story (Sep 2023):

Took him two visits to finish both jobs.

1st visit: He fixed the leaking kitchen faucet in half hour and charged me $185. Before he left he said he originally tried to get both kitchen and bathroom jobs done in one hour so to help me saving some money. But the new faucet I bought for bathroom is not in good quality so he suggested me to get a better one and he can install it in another visit. I was so grateful for his words and believed he was such an honest person. I was happily paid the first visit (fix leaking) for $185. During his 1st visit, he examined my bathroom sink situation so he knew what the 2nd visit would look like. Again, I was further impressed by his integrity and honesty.

2nd visit: One week later, I confirmed his second visit after I got a solid bathroom faucet. He replaced it and gave me the bill of $320. I questioned him the amount and he said the job took him 15 min over the first hour charge because of my facet situation. But first, he examined my bathroom sink/old faucet in his first visit and he know what he should expect since he claim he is professional (which I reserve my opinion and I list the reason later); second, if my bathroom sink/old faucet is in good shape why do I replace them!!! Hey, can we have some common sense here??!!; and third, even if my sink/old faucet is as bad as abandoned ghost house, during his installation or first time examination, he can tell me he would spend more time on this and the bill will be bigger than the first hour charge. And he said nothing other than claiming his great intention to save my money and his professionalism. In the end of 2nd visit, he just quietly handed me the bill and insisted that he spent 1 hour and 15 min and he charged me cheaply. Hmm, really? Don't we all know 1 hour job and 1 hour 15 min job difference...Sounds like a government contracts..?

Why I reserve my opinion on his claim of professionalism: he didn't cover his shoes in my home in both visits; he didn't cover the sink hole when he did the leaking fix in the first visit; neither he used cloth to cover leaking faucet and the water kept leaking down to the cabinet beneath the kitchen sink. I was so impressed by his words to help my saving money so I ignored the red flags- yeah, I know, I learnt my lesson. I don't understand other good reviews for him. If I have a male friend around while he was doing the job things would not go this bad.

For above reasons, I DO NOT recommend him. I post facts and truth here. I leave the rest to karma and universe.

Great Duc came the day before and determined my problem, the pressure reducing valve in the basement was going bad. He got the part the next day, was prompt for our work time, and the installation and results were perfect as well as the agreed price.
I've used Neighborhood Plumber
multiple times.
I've found Duc to be capable, honest and reliable.

They showed up, they were on time and they were polite. They also got the job done and did it right. This is a husband/wife team where the wife answers the phone and the hubby is the plumber and they seem like genuinely good people who are responsible and respectful.

I used this company to replace a sewage ejector pump before the one I had went bad. That was a mistake. I had nothing but trouble with the system until after they had replaced the pump. After much headache, I ultimately replaced the pump myself for about $300. I discovered multiple problems with the installation which led to the repeated episodes of pump failure. I gave them a chance to come look it over and get it running right, but they always told me that everything was fine. I paid them over $1000 for their work and it was substandard from the very start.

Since I did the job myself, I have not had one single problem. Maybe if you hire them, ask them to watch a few YouTube videos before starting their work, or to consult another plumbing outfit that knows what they're doing.

I had a leak under the kitchen sink. The plumber showed up as expected, tightened a pipe and charged the minimum they told me it would be ($69.00 for less than half an hour). Unfortunately, the leak was actually worse after he left!

The reason I'm giving two stars instead of 1 is that they did return my money. They offered to credit it toward more work or just give me a check. Given that I now suddenly needed a new faucet, and more extensive work (according to them), I decided just to take the check and call someone else.

They were nice and prompt, but didn't do the work I needed done.
