Recommended Customer Reviews

This company is totally reliable from sprinkler system repair to complex plumbing requirements. A morning call often results in a same day technician response with considerate, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Neering is also involved with bathroom remodeling, HVAC needs, electrical and plumbing. I plan on utilizing their expertise as long as we own a home in Salt Lake County. Thank you Neering!

BEWARE OF PLUMBING & HEATING, INC.! - I'm here to save you a LOT of $$$$$$.
Do not even consider using Neering Plumbing & Heating, Inc. They have a real scheme going, charging an exorbitant amount more than what other plumbing companies charge. We obtained bids after the fact which were ¼ of the price they charged us.
Here is an example:
I had them replace a 5-sprinkler manifold, which took 3 hours to replace; and I had already dug out the area around the valves.
Material + Tax = $150.00
Labor + Burden = $984.72
Operating Expense = $445.34
Net Profit (11%) = $201.31
Total Invoice = $1,781.37
Neerings' explanation of the above:
1) The cost of material + tax that we use for the task we are performing.
2) The average hourly rate we pay our technicians + the cost of employing that technician such as, taxes, health insurance benefits, fringe benefits, retirement benefits.
3) Our operating expense is calculated at 25% of each task. (10% below the industry average) This is included in pricing to cover our expenses as a company including trucks, tools, fuel, insurance, training, support staff, licensing, insurance, facilities, etc.
4) We use a fair industry standard of 25% as our goal. I say goal because we use an average time on the job and past material cost, but every job is a little bit different and can sometimes be performed quicker or may take longer, but we hold pricing.

Best company I have ever been part of. I feel like Troy values his employees. Being part of a team is empowering, solving customers problems is such an amazing feeling.

Mark came out and performed our annual electric inspection. All went well. He is very informative and friendly. We agreed to installing a whole house surge protector. He was on time and completed the installation quickly. Our overall experience with the technicans has been very positive. Our only complaint is they are over priced on their extras. Being retired we need to watch our pennies and will be pricing other companies in the future.

Keith and Juan (plumbing) responded to our call for issues with toilets. Was able to have appointment, same morning as service call. As members of the gold plan, we did not pay for the service call. Both listened to our experience, and provided us with options costing $0 (have kids hold down the flusher for 3 seconds), to auguring the toilets, to consider replacing the toilets as they are over 25 years old. We appreciate the service and responsiveness. For years, we have and will continue to use Neerings for plumbing and electrical issues.

Avoid this company. The price the ""market price"" they quoted us for a leaking valve was ten times actual cost. So we ended up paying $500 for a $50 part. Worst, however, was they were so interested in selling additional over market parts that their plumbers who came to repair a leak that sprung up immediately after the first plumbers left told us the exact opposite of what their first plumbers said needed to be replace. Our mistake not to have read their terrible reviews first.

Way overpriced. We hired them for sprinkler blow out that led to triple the price of alternative companies. Their estimates were incomplete with inability to understand cost for necessary work.

Randy and Juan came first thing in the morning to unplug my stopped up kitchen sink drain. I had called at 8:30 last night to see if they could come today. Never expected that I would be the first customer on their list!
This was not a big job but they did great. I will definitely call them again in the future for any plumbing or heating job.
By the way, they did a great job of fixing my swamp cooler which needed a new fan and new belt. I was cool all summer.

Do not waste your time calling these guys. Requested and estimate for a straight forward sprinkling system repair. Estimate from them was $3,399. Called another company and it cost us $200.

***Do not hire these guys. My A/C unit started leaking this week & I got a flyer in the mail for a $79 tune up on AC, furnace and water heater. Turns out whatever they did broke my AC unit. Some new equipment $1800+ later I still have a leak. They would be happy to come and fix the leak, not under the work they just did--but for another $300. Total ripoff artists!
