Neerings is super expensive. I had a technician come out for 2 hours and he charged me almost $300.00 to change out 2 light switches. I had to call them 3 times to get an answer and still haven't heard back from them why it was so expensive. Never will I call them again. What a rip off and no customer service.

I am very disappointed with this company! Please read this if you are thinking of calling them!! I called and booked an appointment with them and they could not come till the next day.. They called early in the morning and said they had a cancelation so they could come early which sounded great!!?The tech was there for about 15 min when he came up and gave me the price for the repairs (my husband is out of town)and I am new to the area so after some talk I said ok it is 100 outside we need air. After he left I was able to speak to my husband who then called the tech because the price in my husband word were outrageous! The tech said that the parts were higher and that it would be at least 3 hours of labor. While he was gone an hour to get parts he was in my home all together for 40 min at the most!!!! I Called several other companies and a handy man that I found and read the issue of what was wrong straight from the tech notes every company said they would charge me HALF!!!!! I understand that every company needs to make money but at the expense of a mother with two children who's husband is out of town just made me cry with sadness!!! As someone who does not know anything about serves such as this it feels horrible to be taken advantage of and makes you really second guess yourself! To top things off as I left my house an hour later the repair guy was sitting in his truck two house down! I feel like I was being billed for that time!!!

We called many different people but no one was available to come out except Neerings. They were quick and professional. Steve Taylor was able to fix the issue and we will use Neerings again. Great work.

They gave me a high price to clean the A/C coil and replace the fan motor of almost $1,300. It turned out to be a capacitor and was about $200. I'm glad I checked around.

I called Neerings Plumbing and Heating to have the service man come to my home and do a yearly checkup on my central air conditioner. The website had a Wednesday special to do a checkup for $69 if I called on Wednesday. I called on Wednesday and they told me that they are not offering that special after all. Instead they quoted me $185 to have it serviced. Big difference. It looked more like a bait and switch rather than a good deal.

After I posted this review of Neerings my husband received a call from Jake one of the owners. My husband was pretty worked up and ranted a bit about our experience with them. Jake stayed very calm and was very professional. He offered to make sure that we had our itemized bill sent to us that very day and also refunded some of the charge that we had already paid. Jake also called me to double check how he could make me happy. I appreciate that he really did sound concerned about their name and that a mistake had been made and he wanted to fix it!

When we called Neerings to come back after our tile had been finished to complete the finishing work on the plumbing they were very nice and did an excellent job! The plumbers went above and beyond to help us with several things that were not part of the finishing work. We are so thankful that we are finished with this project and appreciate the help form Neerings!

I called Neerings this morning about a clogged kitchen sink drain. The website was promoting their $69.00 drain cleaning, and when I asked they assured me it was applicable to my situation. When the technician arrived, before even trying something as simple as a snake, he quoted my wife $463.00 to solve the problem. Had he even attempted a simple solution that didn't work, that might have been worth considering, but it was clearly a bait and switch maneuver. The exact kind of business ethic that makes plumbing businesses disreputable by association. I will be sure everyone I know hears about my experience.

Next morning, Brighton Plumbing came to they house. They had quoted me $86.00 for the first hour, and they believed that an hour would be plenty of time to unclog a kitchen sink. He ran a skake into the drain and in 40 minutes, for $86.00 my problem was solved.

Buyer beware! Neerings Plumbing will charge you top price so make sure you get an estimate ahead of time.
A pressure reducing valve problem was diagnosed by our city utility manager with a recommendation to have it replaced. I called Neerings. That morning I turned our water off and waited for them to come. When he arrived he did not have the part, so he said he would take it apart and eat his lunch in his truck while he waited for the part. It came about 20 to 25 minutes later and he finished the job in about 15 to 20 minutes. He said the charge would be $823 but since I had turned the water off ahead of time, he would reduce it down to $675. I did have a $60 off coupon discounting the price to $615. I asked for a breakdown by parts and labor and he said that is not how they price and I would need to call the office. Chris Hart emailed me this breakdown several days later:
Materials $155.4
Labor with burden $310.67
Operational overhead $199.93
Breakeven: $658.40
Profit $164.60 (20%)
Actual profit $88.00 (only 10%)
The technician spent just over an hour, which included his lunch break. When he left, the pressure was set between 70 and 80 psi. I contacted the city and they said the very highest it should be was 65 and 50 to 60 would be better.
Within one week to 10 days of Neerings replacing the valve, both our water heater and soft water system have gone out. The soft water system had just had it's yearly service and they said it was in good condition. When the soft water technician did a follow up he commented too high of water pressure may have had something to do with the failure, but he was not sure. He also took a look at the PRV and said it was a cheep part and not what is usually installed into most homes.
Like I said BUYER BEWARE.
p.s. when I called to complain about the price, they said they would refund me $188.00

I called two weeks in advance to get an appointment to install a thermostat and took a vacation day to do it. The morning of the appointment, I called to confirm the service window from 10 am to 1 pm. I went home at 10 to wait. Three hours later at 1 pm I called to see what the deal was. The guys would be there as soon as they can I'm told. Now the widow is past, but I'm still waiting because I really need to get the thermostat installed and don't want to take a second vacation day. The truck finally shows up at 2:45. They install the Nest but don't test it. I ask them to do that, and they can't get it to work. They install another thermostat I have in hand. Done. Won't ever use this company again.

When Neers called me and asked to do Maintenance on my heating, cooling and plumbing, I wondered if it was a good idea or just spending unnecessary money on my less than 2 year old house. I don't have much time for the boring housing stuff. But much like a car, you have to make sure your maintenance is done. Well, Steve showed up within about a week and started his inspections. He found two things. One was a leak that was probably there since the house was built. I had always noticed a little moisture in my basement furnace room that was there some time and not others. I thought it was just from the water heater. Well, after the inspection, Steve was able to trace that moisture all the way up to the laundry room. Wow! It had been accumulating all that time and the leak was hidden behind the water heater. Luckily it was against a concrete wall and mold was not a problem. He fixed it and now that part of the furance room is dry for the first time. The second one was water pressure that was down. He fixed that too. I think that pressure has been down since I had my water softener installed. I had noticed that one but didn't focus on it so for the first time for about a year, my water pressure is back up to the point where I can shower and run the washing machine at the same time without compromising on a good shower. Steve did an excellent job on his inspection and now I am comfortable. Glad for his years of experience and being able to fix those two things on the spot. Much, much appreciated. He deserves the 5 star review.
