I am a third-generation plumber, shaped by my upbringing in a blue-collar environment, where my grandfather Neels laid the foundation for Ideal Plumbing Service in 1932. All four of my brothers and my sister worked diligently in the family business. With 30 years of experience in the plumbing industry, I am now passing on my knowledge to the next generation. Travis and Dillon are following in our family’s footsteps, and while the journey is not easy, I am confident that with dedication and my support, they will excel as both business professionals and proficient plumbers and HVAC technicians. I take great pride in their achievements, as both have earned their air conditioning licenses from Ozark Technical College.

On Monday, September 19th about 9pm I decided to change the filter of our watersoftner. To make a long story short, when installed the new filter and reinstall the canniter and turned the water back on, the canister was spraying water everywhere. So I did the process all over again and when I tightened everything up and turned the water back on, it sprayed water everywhere again. I am blessed to have Dillon and Travis up the street from. I drove to their and explained my problem. They came right over and in a few minutes they fixed my problem.

They came a little early but notified us with a phone call (Much appreciated that they could come sooner). The guys worked efficiently and were courteous. They quickly fixEd our problem. I would definitely call them again.

Neels Ideal Plumbing Service were prompt, professional, and exceeded our expectations in every way. They're very knowledgeable and kept me informed with everything that needed to be done, great family to work with.

Five stars for Travis and Dillion who were professional, efficient, and courteous in their demeanor and work. They listened patiently as I told them my 40-year-old central air had quit. I also told them I was in the market for a new system but was willing to spend a couple of hundred on the old one to make it through the summer, and they did their best to accommodate me.
I'm subtracting 4 stars due to the price gouging, lack of customer service, misleading statements, excuses, & untrue claims by Greg, the owner of the business. In addition, he would not come back and examine what was wrong with the system that I wound up paying $900 (not the $250 I was originally willing to invest) to fix ( it stopped working after 3 weeks) unless I was willing to pay for a service call.....so much for his 'guarantee' and commitment to customer service.
Here is a list of the misleading statements and untruths just in relation to overcharging for the R22; there were others as well, but this will convey the general flavor & direction of our conversation:
* He told me he paid over $700 for a 10lb canister they cost $150-$200 for 10lbs. Check it out on the internet.
* When I told him the actual price, he said it was a different grade. Not true, this is the price for top of the line R22. Check it out online.
* He then told me that the price of R22 varied, ""like gold"" he said, ""the price goes up and down"" Not true, the price of R22 has steadily risen since 2003 when it was announced by the EPA that it was to be phased out by 2020. Check it out online
* He then said that this was a normal price. Untrue. I called 6 different HVAC companies in the Branson/Cape Fair/ Springfield area. The lowest price/lb. was $60. The Highest was $90/lb. He charged $128/lb., over twice as much as the least expensive quote and over a 500% increase of the dealer price.
* He told me he 'stood behind his work, that everything that he had done was guaranteed' yet when I called and let him know the system was not working, he wouldn't even come out to determine why, or if it was due to his workmanship without charging me another service call. He also informed me at this time that none of the electrical components were guaranteed for more than 2 weeks.
In closing I would like to point out that I enjoyed Travis and Dylan AND Greg. Travis and Dylan were pleasant, hardworking, and apologetic when handing me a bill for $923.00; $673 more than I wanted to spend & $373 more than the estimate given for a working restoration. Greg was, if nothing else, pleasant and entertaining. However, I didn't call him to be entertained. I called looking for good reliable service, a fair price, and assurance that any problems would be addressed. I was disappointed on two out of the three.
I believe that Greg got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and instead of trying to make things right with me, the customer, he started making excuses. Even though he made a few hundred bucks profit off an old system, he lost the chance to make much more by selling and installing the new system that I am purchasing.
There is an old Latin saying, ""Caveat Emptor"" that means ""let the buyer beware"". Legally it means that the buyer has no recourse with the seller if the product does not meet the promises of the seller. It might be a great way to run a used car lot (which Greg also owns), but it is a dishonorable, dishonest, and, ultimately, self destructive way to run a service business.
