2:30am and I hear my wife yell "Why is there dirty water come up the drain!" I am not 5 minutes into investigating this issue, when my daughter comes and asks me why her toilet won't flush and that she heard a bubbling noise in her bathroom tub..

I quickly come to the realization that the problem is most likely not the plumbing of each item but most likley a problem with a sewage blockage further down the line after all the lines converage and on there way to the city main.

I go out in my backyard and open the 4 inch pvc cleanout plug that's located about 4 feet from my house and discover sewage standing in the pipe. Not a good sign, but glad to know the problem was not in the pipes under or in my home.

I then opened my Yelp app and searched for "Emergency Plumber" then sorted by distance. I used the yelp request quote feature, as well as started calling the diffrent companies that were the closest to me.

Most places that I called had an answering service that would answer the call, take all my info, then tell me that they will send over the request to have someone call me back. As I continued down the list I made it to Need It Now Plumbing. I called and was greeted with a voice that sounded a little like I had just woke them up! That was a good thing! I instantly had hope that I was speaking with an actual representative from the plumbing company instead of an answering service!

After about 10 seconds in the call I could tell that the person I just woke up was fully tentative and eager to give me all the info I needed to decide if I wanted them to come out right then or wait a few hours to come during normal business hours.. At this time it was about 3:40am, and decided I would save a few dollars and wait till the morning for a plumber them to come out.

3.5 hours later it is now 7:20am and my door bell rings. It's Bobby from Need It Now Plumbing.. After talking to him a few minutes I realize that the voice is the same as the person that I woke up in the middle of the night.

I showed Bobby to my backyard and to the cleanout covers. He first puts a snake camera down the pipes to see if he can 1st find the blockage.. The camera traveled about 100 ft until it stopped and would not proceed any further. Due to all the dirty water in the pipes we could not make out exactly what was the nature of the blockage on the monitor. Bobby then reversed the camera snake and pulled it out the drain, to then insert the blockage removal snake.. After the snake traveled so far, all the standing sewage in the pipes began to flow and soon the pipes were empty. Bobby then reinserted the camera snake so that we can verify that what ever was causing the blockage was gone.. Since there is no liquid in the pipes we could clearly see the details of the pipe on the monitor. When we got to 100 feet we see something that looks like a root going straight through the pipe! Also on the monitor we could tell that the location of the problem was at the same point that my pipes tie into the city main. Bobby then went to the service clean out that was closer to the street and could see that there was a stick down in there! I am so grateful that he was able to get the stick out! I was racking my head how did a stick get in there, and Bobby brought to my attention that the service port at the street was missing the pvc cap! I honestly have no clue how or why it missing. But glad that we discovered the cause of the backup, fixed it, and that it did not require any more evasive measures!

Bobby was very professional, provided same day service and got our plumbing back up and running quickly! He was much more honest than the first plumbing company we got a quote from, which made him much more affordable as well. I will be using need It Now Plumbing for all of my future plumbing needs because I know they can be trusted and will do a great job. Oh, and even though the address says DeSoto, they service all of the metroplex (I live in the Keller area).
