Worst service experience from any heating and cooling company. Called out due one room getting no cold air. Ignored possible reasons. He was more concerned on upselling a pressure pump. I complained since I paid $100 for visit with him spending no more than 10 mins. in house.. They sent out a salesman two days later and he contradicted the first advisor and said we have a bad zone transfer. He seem nice and knowledgeable. He made it clear he was only a salesman. I said thanks. He would be in touch for repair tech. I'm still waiting for the Service ""Experts"" to complete diagnosis. I have decided not to waste anymore time with them.
There are very many other reputable service companies to choose.
The End
I needed to replace my air conditioner and furnace. Called Neal Harris, because they installed my current furnace and it has worked like a charm for over 20 years. I set up an appointment for them to come out and give me an estimate on a new system for Monday, April 3, between 8-11. Took the day off work for this appointment. They did not show or call to reschedule the appointment. After 11:30, I called and was told they were very sorry, and would call me right back with a status. Waited 2 additional hours. No call. Called again, and was told they were very sorry, they just couldn't reach anyone - never mind that they didn't call me back ""right away"" and let me know they ""couldn't reach anyone."" They said they would have the coordinator call me. The ""coordinator"" never called. Before leaving this review, I did try and contact Customer Service to resolve the issue. I left a VM as well as sent an email asking Customer Service to call me. However, I received no response from Customer Service. I am most fed up that I took the day off work, waited around all day without being able to do anything else, only heard from Neal Harris when I called them 2 separate times, and tried to resolve the issue with Customer Service (still no response), but even they could not give me the courtesy of a call. I understand that scheduling mishaps happen. But, they could have communicated that to their potential customer who was trying to hand them money! Would absolutely not recommend.
Neil Harris installed a new AC unit at my house two years ago. The install was OK, but I had to have them out the next week to fix two parts that were installed incorrectly and had to remind them that the sales rep had included a new programmable thermostat in the quote, that was not installed.
They did resolve most of my issues but the overall appearance of the installation seemed sloppy and unfinished. I accepted the work done, and it included a free inspection the following spring.
The next year, I took them up on the offer and scheduled a technician. He arrived at my house glanced at the AC unit and stated that it was new and left without opening a panel or inspecting anything. Needless to say, when they called to sign me up for a maintenance plan I refused. Why would I pay for an inspection like that.
Last week they called again and asked if I wanted to pay for an inspection. I told the sales person about my last experience and said that if they were offering another free inspection with better service I would accept. After consulting with someone they agreed. I scheduled an appointment for the window of 8 am to 10 am this morning and took time off to wait for them.
I received a reminder call yesterday and a call this morning at 9:00 stating that the technician would be there between 9:30 and 10:00. At 10:05 I received another call stating that he was still 30 minutes away. At this point I cancelled the appointment, because this was not the way to win back a customer.
Had issues with furnace not working at 10:00 at night and the company who installed it said they could not send a tech until the next AM. I have 2 kids under 3 and my wife baby sits during the day so we needed it fixed tonight. Neal Harris was only one I found in our area who was open 24/7. Chris, NH tech, came and found that a wire was unplugged keeping the furnace from working. Our install company had been out earlier in the day to service the furnace and left it turned off and this wire unplugged. Chris checked everything while he was there and stayed to make sure everything was working properly. Next time I need service I know who I am calling! Thanks Chris!
Gregory E.They answered the phone promptly and scheduled someone to come out within 12 hours. I was charged $270 for a $21 part and $344 for a $47 part and they said checked my system and said everything was good. It worked for the day and by the next morning it was 59 inside. They came out and for $80 pulled some leaves from the exhaust and said I didn't take care of things and I had too much junk in my house. The system didn't work right. 2100 square feet 7 returns, 22 supply vents all uncovered and designed by a 25 year hvac professional 13 years ago without a problem since. It worked for 12 hours and the temperature dropped all night inside. Called to complain and Simone else came out and quoted $724 for a part I located in town in 20 minutes for $230 . 6 screws, 1 quick connect and a ground screw and I was done in 15 minutes. The first tech should have seen that problem but that is too much $$ for the work.
Took advantage of an online Furnace tune-up special in November...Never got a call to set up that appointment. Made the same mistake in December, but at least got on their schedule. It was 12/19 10am - Noon time slot. Rearranged my day to be here, but when I called at 12:05, I was told that NH is calling to rescheduling. I asked when would I have been called and the apologetic person said she could reschedule me now for mid January. I declined and WILL be calling another company. Not the right way to conduct business. Service Experts hasn't be kind to the NH company.
Huy L.If I could give this company zero stars I would. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I was selling my home and the inspection stated that my heat exchangers need to be looked at and certified as working before the buyers would enter into contract. I hired them to come out and they did an inspection and said that my heat exchangers had failed and that it was leaking carbon monoxide into the house. The service tech said, ""I cannot in good conscience leave the gas turned on. It protects me to be honest."" The cost to switch out the heat exchanges was $4010.00. They sent out a sales guy for a new furnace which was quoted at 3860.00 for a single stage 100000 BTU system. I called another guy who came and switched out my system to a Lennox 110000 BTU system for 2000.00. A more powerful system for nearly half the cost. He also stated that the Neal Harris guys lied to you. There is nothing wrong with my heat exchangers. He showed me and yes they were fine and not cracked at all. You may ask well why did you let him change out the furnace? Well I called and just had him come out and exchange it. As he was leaving I told him the story of Neal Harris and he states they are always higher cost and aren't trustworthy. So the work had already been done. Had I told him he would have verified that my system was in working order and I would not have to shell out 2000.00 for someone else to enjoy my system. Their repair techs make a commission?!?!?! Seriously????
Kelly A.Hired Neal Harris to fix AC. Had a coupon for ""Free service and repair"". I was charged $297 for a $15 capacitor and $164 for ""Connection Minor Repair."" I stated the coupon stated that REPAIR was supposed to be free only to be told it covered the service fee and not repair of the capacitor. The coupon that I had was misleading and if I knew that it was going to cost this much I would have just had them ""service"" my AC. I don't think that I will ever use them again.
Clint R.I bought my Lennox unit from Neal Harris just less than 5 years ago. It was fine until about 45 days ago. It quit cooling. A tech came out and said it was very low on refrigerant. I told him, obviously there is a leak . This is a newer system. He did no meaningful search for a leak and just filled up the refrigerant at a very astronomical cost, I might add, compared to competitors. He cleaned the unit and assured me it must have just been dirty. This makes no sense. So, about 45 days later the compressor freezes over and quits cooling. A tech comes back out and they insist I must pay another trip fee. He says, the refrigerant is at proper levels. He cleans the unit again, and then says I need a new capacitor. So, I'm $550 into this with absolutely no resolution. The very next day the compressor freezes over and is not cooling. Another tech comes out and says it's over a pound low on refrigerant!!!!!! If you will recall, anyone with a brain would know on the first trip that this unit was leaking, yet Neal Harris manages to stretch this issue into three trips. The third tech tells me, it's low and he recommends filling it, and he cannot find a leak anywhere. That was all he had for me. I had to call in, and finally get in touch with a manager who agreed that there was a leak. He told the tech that he must continue looking and that he'd waive the charge for a pound and a half of refrigerant. Low and behold, the guy found a leak in the coil. I got online and in 2 seconds found that Lennox units have a class action lawsuit against them for faulty coils that leak in less than 5 years. You would think that these ""experts"" would know stuff like this. I wasted days, and hours and hours of time, arguing with them about this unit. Yes, now it needs a new coil that is under warranty, however of course Neal Harris wants to charge the moon to put it in. I've paid them enough and would never, ever consider doing business with them again. Their techs apparently do not really know what they are doing or do not take any care in fixing the problem correctly. They do not read any of the notes from previous techs and act like they have no idea what is going on with the unit. I had to repeat everything every time and then, they would essentially ignore what I was saying and try to apply some quickie get it done answer that was clearly not right. I spent a lot of money on a unit that is less than 5 years old and then instead of being the so called ""Service Experts"" and going above and beyond to make things right, they've merely pilfered me for more money, and finally found a leak that took 3 trip instead of one, when I requested they look for a leak on the first trip. 0 stars. Terrible service all around.
Sam C.I've been a preferred client for 18 years. Lately it's been taking multiple visits to fix issues. Last week after two separate service visits in the same night. Our air condition stopped working after three days, knowing the next couple days were going to be very hot, placed a service call at 5:30 pm. Told someone would be right out. The next morning I called at 8 am, told I would be next. After five more calls and 13 hours later, we have yet to hear from a service tech. Not happening again, they have lost me and people I know.
