For all your septic system needs, trust Navo & Sons. Navo & Sons - a modest start indeed.

In 1958, George Navo founded Navo & Sons, with the phone number NC44. For years, George operated the business from his home on Mc Courtney Rd. in Grass Valley. Thanks to hard work, honesty, and reliability, Navo & Sons grew over the years.

The business plan envisioned a ""main street"" location, leading to the relocation in 1973 to its current site at 815 Idaho-Maryland Rd.

During this period, George's son Randy became involved, concentrating on sales and service. Mark Navo started full-time at Navo & Sons in 1976, and alongside George, the Navo brothers broadened their septic pumping service territory.

Jaye Deen Navo joined the Navo & Sons family in 1982. Seeing a need to diversify, Navo & Sons purchased the Grass Valley & Auburn Roto-Rooter Franchise in 1988 and 1993.

The Navo family achieved their Contractors State License in plumbing and sanitation systems in 1995. The Navo family and their staff have been dedicated to serving Nevada and Placer Counties since 1958. With four generations of experience in pumping and septic repair services, no one knows septics in this area better than us.

I would definitely recommend Navo and sons. My experience with them was great. Brian and cameron went all out for me, to find my septic and climb in blackberry bushes to get the job done. Brian's energy was up beat and positive from the moment he got there. I appreciate the great service. I will definitely be recommending novo and sons for all my friends pumping needs.

The water pipe from the NID meter to our home broke, no water was making it to the house. Adam showed up the same day, located the damage (after some fun hikes through the woods) and gave me some creative ideas on an interim solution. He repaired it the next day. He was professional and courteous and we had some good chats. While I have no idea about the value of the service compared to others, it doesn't matter. My issue was taken care of with diligence and respect and that's what earns my repeat business. Oh, and we also found a massive toad and that was cool. Thanks Adam.

BUYER BEWARE

After calling several local septic service companies to get estimates and a better sense of the scope of services, I decided to go with Navo & Sons, mainly on account of their high reviews.

I have four complaints about my septic tank service provided by Navo &Sons --all of which revolve around poor communication.

When I first called Navo and Sons to get an estimate for the work I wanted done, I asked about the cost of digging, the price of risers, the potential location of my tank, the cost of having my tank pumped, and the type of information I'd receive after the service was complete. I was content with the answers provided to me and decided to go with them for my service.

Issue 1: When I asked about the cost of digging, I was told, the cost would be roughly $150/hour--which seemed high to me--so I opted to do the digging myself. I spent several hours digging out the access point for my septic tank but when the guys arrived to pump my tank, they informed me that there was a second access point that they needed to uncover as well. I had already dug most of the second area too which left the two guys a couple inches of dirt to uncover for the second entry point. I set a timer when they started and stopped digging and it was under 15 minutes--but they still charged me $125 for that work! I fully expected a pro-rated fee based on the time of labor not a flat rate. $125 for 15 minutes of digging is entirely inappropriate and had they specified that over the phone, I would've completely dug out the second access point on my own without their help.

Issue 2: When I called Navo & Sons, I also asked about what sort of report I'd receive after the pumping service so I would have a better understanding of my tank and how to service it. The woman told me they'd draft something up and it would be included in the service. When I asked the guy pumping my tank if I would receive something like that, he told me, ""No!"" and that the only report he'd give would be a service report if I planned to sell my house and that would cost an additional $75!

Issue 3: The guy who pumped my tank informed me that there was damage to my septic tank and it should be replaced. He barely showed me the tank at all so I asked if he'd provide me with pictures to better assess the damage he was referring to and he basically suggested that I would have to trust him. For $800 service, I expected more transparency and documentation of the services provided.

Issue 4: I was told that someone from the company would call me to give me an estimate for a septic tank replacement if I wanted one. Two days later a guy from the company knocks on my door without a call or any form of proper notice to tell me he came by to do an ""inspection"" of the tank to make an appraisal of the replacement labor cost for a new tank install. What he really meant to say was that he was there to make an ""assessment"" of the land for the tank install. This was just one more example of poor communication on their part.

I would love to say Navo and Sons did an amazing job pumping my septic tank but they didn't even show me what they did so I have no idea what the tank looked like before or after the service. And for that, I have to issue a customer ""buyer beware"".

Great communication. Good prices considering other quotes I received. They are very kind and provided a report soon after the septic inspection. I would definitely use them again. Super easy billing as well.

Had to call Navo and Sons for a septic tank issue, from the people that answered the phone and scheduled me to Parker, the tech that arrived at the house, everyone was great to deal with.

Parker quickly got to work and was very knowledgeable and professional. I am extremely pleased with the service and the pricing was more than fair.

Highly recommend.

Jeremy Navo squeezed me in the same day I called. I had bought my current house about 5 years ago and my real estate agent, John Neeb, recommended I call Jeremy to check for roots etc. He pulled up the lid and said it was doing quite well and would not need a service or anything for a long spell I had to force him to take some money for his time. Nice guy!

We have learned TONS moving into the rurals. One is to mandate a septic and leech line map of the property. This does a lot, especially if you want to build something:
1 - nothing is allowed over any part of the septic system,
2- did they use the least expensive thinwall pipe and then plant trees near it, etc.

We bit the bullet and, after minimal searching, contacted Navo & Sons. We asked for pricing on pumping out the existing tank (only 19% sludge buildup - but we want to aerate it), and tracing the leech field. It was a bit expensive, but so is a pumper truck, mini excavator, trucks, manpower.
First crew was the pumper truck, in and out no problems. Not a lot of knowledge about septic systems overall, but the job was to pump out the tank.

Next crew (two days later), was comprised of Kalem and Ben (I cannot remember the first two). Kalem is training Ben, they made a good team. They traced all lines, uncovered two submerged septic distribution boxes (stinking clay pipe - pun intended), flagged the lateral lines and end of runs. Found they had also used CHEAPO thinwall ABS and planted a walnut tree right by it so the roots had broken the primary effluent line. They left the disbursement boxes open as they are 10-12"" below grade and I want to put extensions in.

They covered all end of runs, flagged everything, and will make a map for the county and send a copy to me.

If I had known the status of the system pre-buy, I would have asked for a discount, but the mandated inspection, paid for by the seller, does not require all of the detail.

All-in-all: pumper with two men followed by van with trailer and excavator and two men...we paid $550 plus $1050. We hated spending the money, but it I felt their costs were reasonable. GREAT COMPANY AND CREWS!!

These guys came to our house in 2017 to pump the septic. They came with a huge truck. We have two tanks. They pumped one and said the truck was full and that they would come back to pump the other tank in a day or two. The next day, two guys showed up to look at our septic alarm and fiddled around and kind of fixed it, but not quite. They asked to be paid for coming and for the septic pumping. I said they hadn't finished that they had another tank to pump. They replied no worries. They seemed nice, so I stupidly paid them $635 for coming out and the pumping which was not completed. After a couple of days, I called them about pumping the second tank, they never returned my calls, they never came. I called many times. Nothing. So I gave up. Today-October 2020, another crew arrived from a different septic pumping company. I showed them the tank Navo & Sons had pumped, they noted that the tank was not the one that needed to be pumped. It was the water holding tank and not the one with the solid matter that needed to be pumped. I then told them the above story. They shook their heads in amazement and said I should not have paid for anything, because pumping that tank was like doing nothing. These guys used a locator to find the second tank--a difficult process, and spend a couple of hours pumping it out, shaking their head that the other guys had charged so much and not done this. I would never recommend Navo & Sons. If I could I would give them a minus star, but I can only go down to 1 star.

I called this AM regarding a problem with our septic tank. While no one could come out to pump the tank for over 2 weeks, they sent someone out immediately to see if he could help Us in the interim. He couldn't but I'm grateful he came promptly and explained the problem. We had called 3 other companies and couldn't even get a call back on 2 of them. I really appreciate the effort made to try and help us out. Very courteous and helpful! Thank you.

Keeth was awesome. Called before arriving and arrived early! Wore a face covering as safety is a big issue. He was in and out quickly and very thorough. Explained to me and showed me how to avoid a stall in my garbage disposal should I run into the same issue. Overall, awesome job done and highly recommend!
