I hired Carlos and Navarro Contracting after reading numerous positive reviews to hang two new lights, paint my front door, exterior shutters and paint over wallpaper in my dining room. I had selected specific paint colors I wanted for the dining room, front door and shutters. Carlos and Mariah came out to give me an estimate for all the work. After they left I felt very positive about their services and decided to hire them. The painting began and Carlos used a primer to cover the wallpaper, and proceeded to start painting the room. The color looked a little off but I figured that was the way it would be. A few days later the painting was done, with just touch ups left to do. After looking at the walls the wallpaper lines were showing through and paint, there was paint running that had dried, paint on my hardwood floors and holes that were not covered even though we had discussed covering them. We spoke to Carlos about the lines and was told ""we did what we were hired to do"". ""You didn't ask for a compound"". I was surprised to hear this because he is the professional not me. Later in the day Mariah sent me an estimate for them to come back and do the compound which was for $800. No way was I paying that, when this should have been done from the start. After this disaster I decided I no longer could trust them to paint my door and shutters and asked to break the contract. Carlos said ok and we parted ways. After he left I looked at the paint cans and not only was he using the wrong color, it wasn't even the right brand. UNBELIEVABLE I ended up having to hire another painter who came out and did it correctly. Moral of the story, don't always trust reviews.
