The pricing model does not incentivize workers to maximize the time on project. Sloppy work and errors left without a fair resolution from management. Essentially, I have to pay someone else now to fix their errors and complete the work they left.
Do not use! Booked them to remove a child's swing set, various house items and junk from the garage. Ben the salesman knew the entire project yet grossly under planned. They sent 2 men, all be it they worked very hard, with 2 small Sprinter vans. The vans arrived half full of their own equipment, leaving not enough room for even the swing set, let alone anything else. Lauren the ""manager"" was rude, unconcerned and offered nothing by way of reasonable resolution. The fee structure was misrepresented and we were misled as to their abilities. Now we are left scrambling to find a professional service to finish the job. All this within days of our home closing. Don't make the mistake we made, take your business elsewhere.
Hired Nailit of Mahwah through Angi. Told salesman, Ben, about a series of projects I needed completed and was told they needed to secure one days work on my credit card before they could make an appointment.
Easiest and most urgent chore was to replace a set of doors on my pool shed which had delaminated because they were cardboard filled interior doors. technician was promised to arrive between 8 and 9am. Derrick rolled in at 10:15 and asked me to sign him in on his tablet. i showed him the doors and stressed replacement had to be exterior grade doors. He left for Home Depit and 1.5 hours later (on my payroll) arrived with laminate covered, cardboard filled, 4-panel INTERIOR DOORS.
He installed the doors, which didn't close properly and hung at an angle. I saw, after he left, that one door was installed upside down and backward. No surprise they didn't work properly. He didn't do anything on the other chores I listed.
Was charged over $1,000 for shoddy, incomplete work. Paid a different company $700 to fix the doors. I will have to seal and paint them every year to keep from rotting. Ben wouldn't call me back - was called by their billing person who basically told me it was out of her hands. Angi will not respond to my issue - unable to post a review on their site.
I was unwise to hire them without more thoroughly vetting them. BBB has a ton of reviews on Nailit, every one rating them one out of five. My bad!
Absolutely stay away from this company! Home advisor should be ashamed for recommending these crooks! They sell you on their services then send technicians that have no idea what they are doing. They were supposed to do a simple installation of an Attic fan and totally screwed up the job and had to send 3 separate technicians to my home to try and correct the faulty attic installation that was never fixed. They had the nerve to tell me my roof was too high and that they need me rent a ladder and send 3 more technicians for an additional $999.. Unbelievable.. Lauren - the so-called office mgr tells me that there is nothing she can do. I even showed up at their office ( You should see that disaster- looking office) and the Owner- Jake Guttman wouldn't come out oof his office to speak to me. Buyer BEWARE!!! This company is run by SCAM ARTIST!!!
Had the worst experience. The team didn't know how to do the work and made multiple shortcuts installing a by vinyl fence.
I purchased all product needed to complete the project including the rental of auger.
Day 1 - removed old fence. Some issues, spent hours trying to remove a post that they broke in the ground. They compacted the dirt and broken post with a auger. Time wasted. They installed the vinyl posts without reading the directions. Spacing for panel was in the directions that was on each panel. Cement and stone that I purchased was used in each vinyl post. Panels were not installed.
Day 2 - We made multiple phone calls and waited all day for the team to come back to finish the job that was done all wrong. Sent the company an email stressing my review.
We received a call later that evening after I sent Lauren the office manager my email. She did told me I had to pay for the work that was completed. (Work that was all done incorrectly). Finally she said she would send us people to fix the issue. Also give us 10% off total work done and pay for the cement and stone that we bought on day one to replace the items that the team incorrectly used on day one.
Day 3 - The team arrived at random. I understood that because of a tree near the back of the yard would give them issues I said they could take a couple inches from the bottom of vinyl post off. I seen a 12 inch piece of the post cut off. Completely not acceptable. I had to send my husband to get another post which I was not reimbursed for. At that point instead of trusting the company that I paid for I had to babysit them. The cement they purchased was added to the half day total on day 4. The 5 bags of cement should of been no charge because it was suppose to be replaced for the day 1 issue. My fence has a zig zag line because they did not have the tools to take care of any roots that were an issue. I provided shade for them, a fan for them and offered watermelon.
Day 4 - Only to holes and a gate to be completed. They had to do a post twice (time wasted because they didn't install panel before filling the hole). This should of never happened because this is exactly what was done on day one. Putting together and installing the gate. I was assisting because at this point I wanted the project done. I told Eddie to take a break and read the directions before building and installing gate. Gate was put together. Cuts needed were not clean and cement was already placed inside the assembled gate. Now the gate needed to be disassembled, do to incorrect measurements. Not just once. Finally my gate not installed I told them to leave and I completed the project myself.
I am beyond the point of unhappy and not satisfied with this company and the way they treat there customers. There promise of 10% off both days and replacement of product and damage product was not deducted appropriately. Their invoice system not completely detailed when edits needed to be done.
JP S.We discovered Nail It via Angi/Homeadvisor. We'd been having trouble getting our handyman to show up to jobs so we began researching. Nail It called me immediately, talked us through the process of hiring them for a job and had them on the calendar for two days later. They put up a fence to enclose our yard, repaired the gate and closed up a gap in the existing fence. Excellent work and very courteous. Will definitely hire again.
We hired this company for a day at $ 800.00 the only thing that got done was one ceiling fan , the technician didn't know how to remove a window frame, he was trying to cut it out with a multi tool , I got home from work and he was still cutting, I took the crowbar and pulled it out in literally 10 seconds, he was trying to get it out for 5 hrs. We requested a manager to call and no one ever called. This was an absolute disaster, when he showed up I only had a cracked window, when he left I had nothing, and they changed my credit card 800.00, and , it's been 24 hrs and I still haven't heard from a manager, people be very careful with this company , Nightmare.......
Worst experience ever. Ben, the man in the office asked for pictures of the items that needed repair and never indicated that any of them were out of their league. The technician, Mike, who was very nice was not only unable to complete any of the work I'd asked to be done, but made every single item so much worse than it's original condition that I had to hire a contractor to fix everything he messed up after being charged a ridiculous amount of money (especially considering nothing was repaired and the damage done). Ben could not get back to me quickly enough when he was trying to sell me on his company's ""services"" but once the disasters started happening one by one and I had reached out to discuss with him, he ignored my calls and texts. I was told Lauren, another employee would call me today (4 days later) to remedy the situation and after sending her pictures of the terrible work, she's not called. I would not trust this company to touch anything in my house and expect some kind of compensation for the complete and total waste of money to have an ill prepared handy man destroy items I was assured could be fixed (there were 3 other items on my list that he never even got around to addressing but I'm thankful that's 3 less projects I'll have to pay someone else to fix. Stay away from this company - they're terrible and their customer service is shameful. If I could give them zero stars that would be too many. The 1st four pictures below are just a sampling of the condition my house was left in after the work was ""done"".
Addendum: the last 3 pictures were taken today after a competent company made the repairs to the diasterous hatchet job (literally) by Nail It Handyman.
As far as their redundant response (which they seem to cut & paste to everyone who thinks theyre awful) to my very honest and accurate review - I DID call to talk to them. Many times. They ignored my multiple calls and today I received an email saying they'd send another handyman out to fix the destruction and not charge me. How nice of them. As if I'd ever trust them after the damage they did to my home. The only acceptable remedy is reimbursement of some sort as I not only paid them but then paid someone else to clean up their mess. What a disgraceful company.
I provided them pictures of my wood deck and sales persoon estimated 1 or 1.5 day job for wood deck repair/maintenance. It was a reasonable cost so I went ahead. On the appointment day, only one tech came for approx 600ft sq area to be taken care of, which would take more than 1.5 day. They said they had to charge a half day at least even though I didn't go for the wood deck repair/maintenance. I had the tech to do the other small job that was also listed, re-cauking around the bathtub. He finished the job in 45 minutes. So at the end, they charge me for a half day for a 45 minutes job. This must be a joke. This would be the last time to use this company and I can't recommend them to anyone!!
UPDATE: They charged me $450 for 45 minutes re-cauking around the bathtub. Do you think it is reasonable? I don't think so.
UPDATE: Finally office manager called me after a few email and phone calls. This manager is not there to satisfy the customer at all. She says sorry but she actually is not. She just kept pushing me their policy and not rectifying the situation as they previously said ""Hi PearlG Lease, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our team values all customers and we always strive to provide the best experience possible. Please contact our manager at [email protected]. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you and rectify the situation.""
They say tech would be there to assess the job and 1.5 day estimate that I received in email was not estimate. So having a tech to assess is $450? Such a ridiculous business scheme, very shady.
If you want to save your money, time and peaceful mind, I don't recomment this company to use.
They are not giving me any discount and they finished with me by charging me $450 for a small 45 minutes job.
We couldn't get a simple callback. When we called we were told that the person we should speak to (Tom) was on the phone and would call back. A day later,we are still waiting.
To us that speaks volumes about the service we are likely to receive should we contract with this folks, so we've decided to look elsewhere for thsee types of services.
